    As a kid, I was nuts about these salt biscuits and would buy them ever so often from Brahmin's Bakery in Bangalore. Glad you uploaded this video with the recipe. In my opinion, it is pretty much the perfect recipe. We tried it out recently and the result brought back fond memories from childhood. Thanks so much.

      A little more baking time would help to retain the crispness..... It is supposed to stay crisp after it cools down.....thank you for the try and letting me know ur feedback

    Hi, i tried your recipe almost 4 times with the meaurement what you have mentioned. Taste was excellent. But the problem what i came across was i was too soft the moment we touch itself it breaks. Could you please what is going wrong. But everyone really liked the taste. Thanks in advance.

      Maybe u need to lessen the butter measurement or maybe they were hot when they were soft.. u need to let it cool.

      Just until all the flour is combined .....you don't have to knead it just bring it together that will do....thank you for the support

    Wonderful and easy explanation of everyone's favourite salt biscuit. Your biscuits turned brown only in the bottom. Did you bake them in the bottom only mode on the lower slot of an oven?

    I will be trying it soon. Can I have the measurement for butter in cups please? Would it be half a cup? I noticed you mentioned in a comment that flour should be twice the butter. So if flour is one cup then butter is half a cup right

      Adding more liquids will spoil the texture of the biscuit......you can cut out milk powder and try the recipe.......thank you for the support

      Try adding more flour to the recipe......consistency of butter and the temperature around also influences.....or you can reduce the butter to make the cookies less crumbly....thank you for trying

    I tried to find out weight of 1 cup maida in google which gives varrying result from 110gm to 150gm. In one of your response I found 1 cup = 200gm maida. Shall I consider 200gm maida? I will try your reciepe today after your response.

      The cup actually says 250ml by quantity .......you can actually approximate 200gms because measurements are not very accurate

      Vegetable oil is not a great substitute .....but you could try making using the same quantity as Butter...

    I made the following changes.
    1) Since I am diabetic I did not add Sugar and Milk powder
    Result: Cookies turned out to be very soft and were crumbling.
    How do I make these Cookies without adding any Sugar. Thanks for all your help.

      Try adding more flour from the mentioned amount.....this might help in getting the cookies without breaking.....sugar is added just to enhance the taste ...you can always add jeera or any other spice powders you like to make it spicy biscuits

      Yes you can ....on medium to low heat for 12 minutes and check if it done or leave it a minute more

    Shall we use the same temperature if want to bake in convection mode in microwave

      Convection mode in a microwave normally has a varied temperature from a basic oven.....you can set the same temperature ...but make sure you constantly watch it ....once you get to know the time and temperature.... Second batch of biscuits will be easy....,try it and let me know ur feedback

      sure.....its 100gms of butter
      200 gms flour
      use a standard tablespoon for the spoon measurerments mentioned in the video
