it is kinda funny how the ps2 version is more stripped down then the ps3 version but also the more playable version
Completely agree, even if it isn’t the “full” version of the game, at least it’s not completely broken 😅
This PS2 version is just a stripped down version of the PS3/Xbox 360 game but nonetheless still good

Thanks man! With the other 2 games also being on ps2 I thought it’d be fitting to finish it off on the PS2 also. Pretty sure this version was a lil bit more stable than the PS3 version too, but I am a bit sad I didn’t get to see the iconic failed QTE cutscenes 😅
IMO Spider-Man 3 on the PS2 had one missed opportunity regarding the shriek mission.
We leave the mission off with trying to find a way to save Shriek. This story is never resolved. If they included a cutscene after you collect every meteor fragment where Shriek is cured, I feel like that would help finish that story thread.
Who are those other two villains, I recognise Lizard, Scorpion, Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Black Cat, Beetle, and Jackal, but the other two don’t look familiar
This was such a great video! This was the only Spider-Man game I played as a kid since I never was able to get 1 or 2. I spent hours playing this game and always got to the final mission of the game and always quit there because it was too hard for me lol. I tried to go back and play through it again recently but when I got to the mission where JJ has the bomb collar the game glitched and completely broke on me. The game had like a weird red coloring to it and there were just random texture blocks floating around everywhere and I couldn't do anything other than swing around. Haven't tried playing it again since. I don't want to be cursed lol. Also, the part in the video where to cut to the two lizards banging caught me so off guard and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time lol.
Thanks dude! I remember being so excited coming back from the store with this one. Read the game manual back to front about 9 times on the drive back. It’s insane the amount of villains they managed to cram into the story, and it still felt less forced than the movie😅. This game made me unintentionally laugh more than any other in a good while, some times some jankyness is needed. Really appreciate you watching, means a lot 👊🏻

Well at least PS3, Xbox 360 and PC version are a lot better. But also a lot harder, especially with those QTE segments. Sometimes they are hard beyond expectations.
I think my original play though many years ago was on the 360. This game thought me the muscle memory of pressing all of the buttons with the QTE’s. Would love to go and replay the newer gen version soon, just to see the how it compares to this version
@@_Jay_YT It is a lot better. Outside of jerky camera thou. Seriously, I played PC version and with that camera that is always trying to center itself, it made me dizzy many times.

Despite feeling like its predecessor, but watered down, I still did actually enjoy this game back in the day. It doesn’t really hold up these days though, especially with the existence of Insomniac’s franchise. It’s still better than the PS3/Xbox 360 version though, which I never liked. In that one, the open world feels empty and lifeless, the camera is wonky and all over the place, especially when swinging, and the combat is damn near unplayable. All the while, it just feels painfully generic across the board.
Having platinumed all the insomicac games, and invested some serious hours into them, it is a bit of a shock coming back to these about 15 years later. This game does have a few good qualities, like the combat was semi decent, the way they included the black suit was interesting, and it was so unintentionally funny. Appreciate you watching!
