Hi Ben u have a great channel as u guys say mate I’m a fan from Canada 🇨🇦 I longgggg way fro u lol I enjoy watching and I watched the cpu and memory sticks u brang in on a video wow I’ve never seen so many u got like 16000 I was amazed thx again for sharing
Got 1 slot pc, 5 intel ceramic 1 of them gold cap, I large green fiber and two where servers all was slam filled with ram and most of the with most of them with two to three slot cards. Just wanted to update you on my 7 pc and 7 monitors. Thank you for all your knowledge
bennie i just love watching you driving around and scraping tv's and other stuf greetings from Holland next time (take some storks with you for the love tv;s )
If you’re into Aluminum (aluminium), I’ve found most waffle irons and sandwich toasters and the like, all the hinged ones that plug in, are usually quick to unscrew from the plastic and usually the heating element can be unscrewed or pried off the back. They are usually cast aluminum, they most always have silver contacts to cut off the dial, and of course the cord. The only worthless part is the plastic. For some reason the scrap yard thinks the heating element is toxic :)
Aaron Bratcher Here in Australia most suburbs have a council rubbish pick up So twice a year you can put all the items, rubbish you don’t want and place it out front on the kerbside for pickup
eWeste Ben 😄on your big bulky waste tour there was a lot of aluminum and metal scrap and engine scrap and copper around. You took the copper with you from the TV sets but you left the aluminum and the metal scrap lying around. Cash money I would have said you had about 200 dollars💵💵💵 on the tour left behind
You seem to leave a lot of moters behind. Fans, fridges, a lot of copper. I do this as a hobby and love to find fridges and anything with a motor. I do go through a lot of cutting wheels but I make it back easy in copper, even if not it's fun to make sparks. Lol
I thought to mention to you that there's a whole lot of CU in fan & vacuum motors. Same goes for vacuum cords, ballasts, electric razors/hair cutters, & you can rest assured of lamp cords predating 1984. HAPPY SCRAPPIN, BE SAFE!😃
I am curious about what people think about the street scrapping? Do you get dirty looks, or yelled at when you scrap a tv on the spot? I think this hard rubbish is a great idea, and wish we did it here in the area of the USA I live in. A great way to reduce land fill as you have mentioned.
Nice video Ben would love to see you do a few vids on you scraping out that entire van load I mean every thing cables etc etc where you put the stuff what was the result of the Beta max search was it worth any thing, may sound boring to you but watching your videos would just enhance things as a subscriber
For the TV's when you don't have the right bit to take them apart you can take small sledge hammer and give it a good wack an the screws and brake the back loose from the TV so you can get the copper and board out.
What brand scrapping tools do you prefer to use, I am new and want to start scraping I don't drive but I try not to let anything stop me from doing anything.
that big pile looked like the mother load to bad it was all scrapped out, I cant get over all that furniture in there I see that selling on fb all the time!
I was watching all of your past videos and came across some videos where you melted gold. That is a very popular video. you plan on refining any more gold in the future? You plan on putting your insignia on some copper buttons. If so, please let us know. You could like auction it off to the highest bidder. Great videos man... Very inspiring.
Yeah IN Spain is illegal o pick up trash of the Street and recycling centers. But if you give 50 euros you won t get problem( you know what I mean) at least in Spain
I like yr vids loads i do the same here in UK but you have loads more rubbish on streets whereas we have to take to recycle centers ourselves, which aint a bad thing.one question tho!why does noone take the scrap metal?i wish i had that amount to collect
Not only scrapping is a hobby but it's a job that I take serious because it is a big part of my income here in the US you make big money each year upwards of 50 to 70 thousand dollars. There is a lot of scrap people throw away
In my part of the U.S., you can't put TVs out for trash anymore. The towns have electronic recycling days, several times a year and people have to take all of that kind of stuff there. Some big recycling company gets to recover all that copper. GRRRR! The scrappers in my town have to buy a permit for $25.00 a year. You see them picking up barbeque grills, washer/dryers, vacuums, lawnmowers and other low dollar scrap. It's a shame. Love your vids, though!
I stockpile it for SHTF purposes mostly, like welding them together to make a bullet proof shield and to re-inforce my underground bunker, just weird stuff like that
Ben, Is there a reason you don't scrap the motors from washing machines and refrigerators? The scrappers in my area always take the motors. Also well done on your videos, they are very entertaining and informative.
what country do you live in? if you dont live in Australia thats why because theres so much rubbish on the yearly cleanup evreyone just goes for the good stuff
Java Fatal Runtime Error Hi as of January you will find most scrappers if there smart won’t be wasting time as electric motors fridge compressor, pvc cords irony aluminium and a lot of electronic waste no longer has a market in China We will have to wait and see if sims reopened there granulation plant in Sydney and how sims one steel and sell and Parker all handle the change one steel may ship to India but only time will tell rumours are steel will improve in the first half of 2018 but what we really need is a lapse in the environmental levy NSW GOVERNMENT IMPOSED
Joni Middleton, right? How many miles do you have to drive to find enough power cords to clip to equal a couple truck loads of metal that can be picked up going around one block in Australia. Everything here in Utah, USA is in a closed lid household garbage bin that gets picked up by an automatic arm on a garbage truck. Unless it’s sticking out, who knows what’s going to the landfill. I mean, sure a lot of cities have recycling pickups in a different colored bins but you can’t see what’s in them, and they have a spring cleaning pickup once a year, but mostly yard waste and couches. I can get $ for a bucket of cords or the same for a truckload of iron scrap metal.
And the sad thing is, all that copper, aluminum, steel, etc., once in a landfill will never be recovered. Scrappers are often looked down on, but are really doing a great service to the world.
How do you strip all the computer part's, motherboards and shit to get it pure'r?. Like the chips and stuff?. Let me know if you got a video on it. Also what do you do with the wires?.
Everytime when I watch these videos I wonder; Why don't you buy a trailer and haul all the scrap steel, I mean you are there anyway might as well take it with you. Somewhere in de video you said "If scrappers from this neighbourhood come over to my neighbourhood they'll go nuts for all the cable and such". But if I would live there I would go totally crazy and take everything that has metal. I myself am currently looking at buying a new trailer just so that I can haul more scrap steel. Also I maybe have a video idea, I am considering buying a copper cable peel machine, but I wonder is it worth it? Do you have one? And why (not)? Maybe you can tell us what good ones are and which are not?
My scrapyard currently pays 0,16 Eurocent per kilo. I don't know if you call that low value, but for me it pays for petrol and a bit extra and all the other stuff I bring in is all profit.
About making a wire stripper, I've seen mulitiple videos about homemade strippers from using a blade to a thing with rolling presses, but I am not that handy and I wanted something like an automated machine that can proces all types of wire. The price for all insulated wire is 1,20 per kg and clean wire is 5,00 per kg so I thought it would be worth it to strip it. The reason why I collect steel is because I have the space for it and I don't get as much other metal like Ben does (unfortuantly).
Haye van Leeuwen Hey In regards to an auto wire stripper there awesome but you also have to factor into account preparation time for wire you have to cut wire into metre lengths You also have to cut off all attachments and then you have the waste factor so if you have 2 tonnes of cable you need at least a week if your by yourself to prepare the cable strip and bag it! Just my point of view Regards John Cook The Scrap Metal Man Non Ferrous Metals Specialists www.thescrapmetalman.com.au
Its amazing the amount of steel some people saying its low value but its quick money you could pick up 2 or 3 tonnes a day easy thats £360 a day here and it doesn't need processing id just find a yard that is closest to that area and you'd probably uncover more goodies under the steel

at 1:00:29 you came upon a fridge but only cut the cord. why didn't you scrap the copper cooling line or the copper compressor on the reverse of the fridge ?
Can someone please ansa why no one takes the scrap iron, ali, washers and bbqs etc.in england id love to come across all that scrap.id just do constant trips to scrapyard as iron and light steel here is worth about $200 australian a tonne and in yr vids Ben theres tonnes of it,its actualy making me feel i have to come out there with my truck!whats the deal?

can you make a video of scrapping out all the fans?
Dominik Suska would love thatttttt

Actually, inside fan, blender, food processor ,they got motor,
Your can collect lot copper wire, more that 3 core wire your cut off.
You would love California, so many electronics on the weekends on the curbs , mostly TVs and DVD players
Well on a slow day you get to bring music to your garage score 🎶🎵🎶🎹
i love watching Ben harvest that juicy free copper.
Man those tvs saved the day!
I would go for the speakers myself!
[And not to scrap them!]
Why the speakers?
@@jim.zuzukiz3583 why would you think mr obvious
Also there are no cheap Larsen speakers, some floor models similar to yours are 5grand plus. Good audio equipment
I always wish we had something like this in the US
i dont even understand this
Yeah in Canada I can’t find shit
Aaron Bratcher Here in Australia most suburbs have a council rubbish pick up
So twice a year you can put all the items, rubbish you don’t want and place it out front on the kerbside for pickup
around here to get scrap you have to be faster than the tweakers
We do

Drive-by TV-scrapping ("Copper! One minute"). Fantastic !!

I do the same thing in perth loving it
Ben, I like your videos good one as always Thank you
Scrapvulture in the states does scrapping on a bike. Very cool guy! Worth the watch!
Great video as always mate very informative but I'm always worried you're gonna return to an empty kerb with the merc gone. Keep up the great work.
Just heard your having fun comment, and the answer is a resounding YES. I love these hard rubbish videos.
Great video hope to see you scraping the items out 👍
Whenever I scrap a crt TV I hear you telling me to cut the wire to the fly back transformer 👍👍👍
I am curious about what people think about the street scrapping? Do you get dirty looks, or yelled at when you scrap a tv on the spot? I think this hard rubbish is a great idea, and wish we did it here in the area of the USA I live in. A great way to reduce land fill as you have mentioned.
TVs with copper yokes are about gone here in US miss it
This i so fun to watch I really enjoyed this...Never been to Australia...we get to see ho wit looks...Love your videos
Nice video Ben would love to see you do a few vids on you scraping out that entire van load I mean every thing cables etc etc where you put the stuff what was the result of the Beta max search was it worth any thing, may sound boring to you but watching your videos would just enhance things as a subscriber
I feel you bro i want PC's Laptop's and Cellphones too!
It's so relaxing to scrap them :>
Man you got some scrap vultures near you. Grateful I don't have that kind of competition
For the TV's when you don't have the right bit to take them apart you can take small sledge hammer and give it a good wack an the screws and brake the back loose from the TV so you can get the copper and board out.
Thanks for sharing Ben
I'm surprised you're not getting the stainless over cast, I thought it was worth more per tonne
Jeez! I could recycle all of that furniture and wood your leaving behind! It looks like an affluent district your driving through.
I could watch this type of video all day only thing i get too jealous by the end lol
What brand scrapping tools do you prefer to use, I am new and want to start scraping I don't drive but I try not to let anything stop me from doing anything.
The drill clearly says Ryobi breh... It doesn't matter what you use asking as it works
21:19 That's Woody's handwriting. lol
The Newmark piece is old dj equipment about 4/5s way thru
The numark is a 2channel mixer. 24 bit I think
that big pile looked like the mother load to bad it was all scrapped out, I cant get over all that furniture in there I see that selling on fb all the time!
The beta-max is worth 100-200, working, to a person who has beta tapes. The amp + speakers is at least 100. All depending on working. All good finds.
I was watching all of your past videos and came across some videos where you melted gold. That is a very popular video. you plan on refining any more gold in the future? You plan on putting your insignia on some copper buttons. If so, please let us know. You could like auction it off to the highest bidder. Great videos man... Very inspiring.
Where abouts r U in Melbourne mate as I have a sister living in Dandenong Vic and a brother in woolsthorpe
0:22 You taking a hit off that joint
Diego Fabela I don’t know he was a smoker
it would be nice if you explain why certain things are taken and their uses or value.
Would you do a video of processing some of this stuff?
i think here in Germany it's illegal, to go through the “Sperrmüll“ Especialy when a TV with .maybe still loaded capacitors is left behind ripped
Yeah IN Spain is illegal o pick up trash of the Street and recycling centers. But if you give 50 euros you won t get problem( you know what I mean) at least in Spain
I,m 75 i watch utube a lot after cleaning my laundromat.while i,m watching i got PAID IN MY LAUNDRY.
Ben if I lived near by I would give you a set of torx bits 😁
Lansen Acousics AVL-5100 RRP $5400 Outshines Denon and B.O.S.E wow awesome find mate
another great video ben
I like yr vids loads i do the same here in UK but you have loads more rubbish on streets whereas we have to take to recycle centers ourselves, which aint a bad thing.one question tho!why does noone take the scrap metal?i wish i had that amount to collect
I think you can repair the Betamax by splicing a different cord into it:Tip
Do you now carry torx bits since you find those types of TV’S
Nice speaker find!
Not only scrapping is a hobby but it's a job that I take serious because it is a big part of my income here in the US you make big money each year upwards of 50 to 70 thousand dollars. There is a lot of scrap people throw away
3 hrs here id probably find 3 microwaves and a parking ticket
And all the steel
What is the number on the co-ax cable? Ham radio guys will buy that

Just have turn in soon good job
What kind of project are you working on with the grill plates?
I stockpile it for SHTF purposes mostly, like welding them together to make a bullet proof shield and to re-inforce my underground bunker, just weird stuff like that
good job I have to learn from you
I get most of my motors from fans. Seems like steel must be low- the scrappers are leaving the light iron.
steel is going up actually, maybe some scrap yards are stretching old prices out for a while
Man you missed that brass on the ac unit
Ryan Sharpie yea
Ben, Is there a reason you don't scrap the motors from washing machines and refrigerators? The scrappers in my area always take the motors. Also well done on your videos, they are very entertaining and informative.
what country do you live in? if you dont live in Australia thats why because theres so much rubbish on the yearly cleanup evreyone just goes for the good stuff
I'm from Sydney. The yards here pays 50c a kg for electric motors. With the right tools, might take 5 minutes to undo the motor from the appliance.
Java Fatal Runtime Error Hi as of January you will find most scrappers if there smart won’t be wasting time as electric motors fridge compressor, pvc cords irony aluminium and a lot of electronic waste no longer has a market in China

started to get motion sickness watching this
Why don't you take printers, also why don't you cut the cords more by the units?
Do you have to have a license to collect scrap like in the UK? Also I agree if you like what you do it doesn't feel like work.
no licence required here, your royal family don't want the peasants to make money unless you pay for the privilege to scrap hey?
In Spain is illegal but we are a safe but corrupt country
Thanks ban.
Tons of scrap metal lots of money wish we had that in America

Maybe show cutting cables and striping plugs with brass in another bucket
Another video showing removing copper
From yokes and degaussing cables. No one else saves environment from wire, glass CRT tubes like you ben
GOOD ONE
Larsen wow good brand
I don't understand how the garbage trucks can pick up all that stuff! Don't they fill up after every street?
if you get ahold of the second anode you will have a new appreciation of problem lol.
if you are recycling e-waste, then why are you not taking the printers ? granted they are mostly plastic but they have a circuit board
49:06 that wooden board looks like it has a cat face on it
I,m an electronics technician i wish can go there ,to many items are repairable
them led lights are waterproof I have them in my tank they go under water.
Or if they are coloured you could hang them under your van for decoration purposes
Ur great man, i like your videos. :D
You have to get up earlier Ben LoL great stuff again :)
The copresore has a lot of copper in it
it so weird seeing the cars in Australia with the drivers wheel on the right side
It is interesting how things have changed over the past 4 years. You are much more selective these days. I always enjoy your videos, nevertheless!
Everytime when I watch these videos I wonder; Why don't you buy a trailer and haul all the scrap steel, I mean you are there anyway might as well take it with you. Haye van Leeuwen
Hey
In regards to an auto wire stripper there awesome but you also have to factor into account preparation time for wire you have to cut wire into metre lengths
You also have to cut off all attachments and then you have the waste factor so if you have 2 tonnes of cable you need at least a week if your by yourself to prepare the cable strip and bag it!
Also most yards won’t accept tinned wire with your bright wire.
My personal advice is unless you have a supplier that is going to supply you at least a tonne a week don’t buy a machine it’s a lot of money to have sitting in the back of the shed your looking at at least $3000.00 for a semi decent machine
So high grade cable at the moment your paying $3.50 kg
Then factor in time Priceless
Then wear & tear on machine
Then Rubbish disposal $2.80 kg for plastics
Then the reward about $6.00 kg bright wire
Also anything smaller then your thumb isn’t worth stripping from a commercial point of view and if it’s double insulated or lead or steel protected cable you loose recovery as well.
From your suppliers point as well you don’t have any loyalty someone will offer the $0.10 kg more and they’ll sell it on you!
Just my point of view

Its amazing the amount of steel some people saying its low value but its quick money you could pick up 2 or 3 tonnes a day easy thats £360 a day here and it doesn't need processing id just find a yard that is closest to that area and you'd probably uncover more goodies under the steel
36:30 That metal cover was already unscrewed so you could easily get the cable
Someone just leaves a Black Widow keyboard on the curb. Alright. Where do you live. I'm moving.
In the world
do you ever get a shock cutting the red cord on the tvs i did once
Hey man I'm not sure if you've heard of these guys they do basically what you do but they have invented their own wire stripping device if they made their self their TH-cam channel is called holy moly recycling check them out if you don't already watch their Channel, stay cool...
Do you scrap your plugs for brass?
What happened to putting all the tvs back together? Kinda disappointed
Ben why not look behind cushions on old lounges so much cash falls from pockets.
at 1:00:29 you came upon a fridge but only cut the cord. why didn't you scrap the copper cooling line or the copper compressor on the reverse of the fridge ?
Im sure there's a fine associated with releasing freon into the atmosphere... To do it on TH-cam would be stupid
What country is that ? Australia?
Can someone please ansa why no one takes the scrap iron, ali, washers and bbqs etc.in england id love to come across all that scrap.id just do constant trips to scrapyard as iron and light steel here is worth about $200 australian a tonne and in yr vids Ben theres tonnes of it,its actualy making me feel i have to come out there with my truck!whats the deal?
Your wife must be very understanding
