    This is the fourth naked-eye comet I've seen in my lifetime but the first I've photographed since watching your TH-cam channel. Rather than just a "shot of the comet" I wanted to get some foreground interest as I have learned from your videos. A dead tree in a nearby park along the Mississippi River was my choice and by a great stroke of luck, there was a barred owl sitting at the very top of the tree. Your tips often are useful, and, in this case, it gave my one of my favorite photos of all-time! Thanks, Mads. BTW, I especially like the photos where the windmill is "looking" at the comet.

    This year has been amazing for astro photographer. What a treat! Even if technically, the fact that we have so many northern lights is not a good sign.
    Never the less, fantastic shots. My favourite was the middle one, even if the wings are not facing your camera.

    beautiful photo. I had the idea with the windmill too. Unfortunately, the comet was never that bright for us. Clouds, fog and fog and clouds. Well, in the end I got a few simple photos. Neowise was better. But yours is perfect.

    Beautiful!
    I think that I like best the last photo, with the windmill facing towards the viewer, because I like the clouds and the somewhat orange glow on the horizon.
    It does perhaps distract a bit from the comet and windmill, but I think it makes the overall picture more interesting to look at.

    Nice photos and you are very, very lucky to get to photograph the comet in a place like that. I tried finally photographing the comet oday here in Finland, but failed due to high wind speeds. And not having a car means, that I can't go to open places like in the video and view the comet well enough. And soon it'll be too late to try. But I'll still keep trying next week and let's see... Just a shame seeing all those nice comet photos all over social media and I didn't get one. I'm not normally a jealous person, but this just feel a bit sad. Although it's just a comet, having a photo of it would be a lifetime memory.

    The photo in between is the best in my eyes, for the many aspects this image caries much attractiveness than the other two images!
    In the first image the comet and the windmill are almost in the same plane of reference and this gives the impression of the two objects are further away from us and looks like the two are cardboards pasted on a two dimensional flat background despite the fact that both aren't celestial; one is the result of our invention and the other is nature's creation but these two senses have been mixed into a single notion of being same impetus! The trail was about to pass the windmill wing carrying away the sense of moving the wings by itself, the comet, which notion is much gotten in the second image! Look at the pronounced lighted windows of the windmill in the second image and the comet has been given the sense of moved the wing of the windmill as if it were made the blade turned while the lighted mass passing by the blade of the windmill! The separation of planes of the comet and the windmill has nationally gave the required separation needed to catch both creations, one by us and the other by God, and it's been amazingly depicted in this frame in the middle! The anti-tail is very emphatic in this picture; the background sky is almost remains secondary to support the trail and the image but the idea has been somewhat taken away by the little bit more highlights in those areas in the other two pictures! The middle picture although being best but together the three images tell more powerful story, I think!

    Lovely work Mads and the timelapse was beautiful too. Been thinking what Alyn would have made of the last few weeks of heightened astronomical activity. I think the other part of the comet is referred to as the anti tail. The anti-tail reveals the comet's past path, or where it has already traveled through space. I liked the middle image as I think the tail and the anti tail was very prevalent in that image

    Nice work Mads, I tried here on the east coast of the UK & only had one day of non-cloudy conditions - by then the comet was much further away & as such less impressive. I understand your point re the windmill sails, however, on this occasion I think the middle image at the end of the vlog is my favourite. I don't think you lose any impact from the windmill being taken from 'behind'.

    Tail indicates flying direction, if tail is split it is because of the sun winds.
    Front tail is called Anti-tail.
    This is gravity of the sun catching tail particles in a half circle around the sun. But due to the flight direction this half circle make it look like a front tail

  • @enricozetti
    @enricozetti วันที่ผ่านมา

    To me the last one with the front-facing mill is better. Even apart from the mill i like the slightly more "active" horizon and having a bit more foreground.
    The windmill from the back is still cute but a bit less strong in my opinion. Losing the lower left wing leaves it a bit unbalanced toward the right.

    Nice images! Not sure if mentioned anywhere, but what's the Bortle at your location? I've been out several times in Sweden this week and I just can't find the comet. It appears right around sunset, right above the sun, but whenever I look in its general direction there's just lingering sunligth washing out the sky, and it's even worse with longer exposures. :) Also what time did you go out?
