I lived and worked at the Capitola Venetian. It’s an old speakeasy and unlike any motel anywhere. It sits no far from the Santa Cruz mountains and just a beautiful area. But it floods usually in Jan every year. I fished off the pier before they moved all those garbage buildings on the pier. You can fish for giant fish and see sharks right off the pier.

As the glaciers melt, the sea levels rise, the waves become larger, the sea erosion increases the coastal towns are overwhelmed with saltwater the cost to repair the damage becomes a huge problem for most people living near the sea, waterways and rivers, now and every year of your life it’s going to get worst. The the sun will come out, stuff will grow, it will get hotter, the stuff will dry, the storms will return with lightning causing firestorms your house will burn, you will rebuild, your house will burn again. Ahh, build a City on the waterline with some waterways into it in No Cal and get flooded. But, really though, let us see... Full moon = Big high tides. Good sized swell hitting from a BIG ARSE storm off the coast of the Tip of Alaska area. OK. This happens almost every time under the same circumstances. It might be time to invest in a nice groin or something in front, like in Redondo. 🤷
