    I LOVE your owl design and watching your process! Thank you Oxana❣️ The “mistake” you were mentioning is called the Amish mistake. Many believe it’s a myth however a dear friend of mine grew up in an Amish community and, at least there, it is true. They ladies would intentionally make a mistake in their quits or knitting as a sign of humility and to acknowledge only God is perfect.

    • @OxanaCrafts

      Thank you! I heard it is also a Navajo weaving tradition where a mistake is purposely made so the spirit can escape the confines of the rug.

    What an excellent tutorial. I've been making jewellery for twenty years, and use to sell it at ladies' coffee mornings, averaging around $1,500 a month. I'm getting older, (60), and I'm about to retire the coffee mornings, and sell online only. I find that the most popular sellers are double wire scrolls in different coloured wires, with a half centimetre faceted crystal, or faceted bead between each scroll. I haven't seen a more professional, in depth teaching class for decorative wire creations than yours. Well done!🙂🇦🇺

      How do you price your pieces?

    • @megan2878
      @megan2878 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ourgeorgiasuburbanhomestea6309 Hi. I used to price them by how much work was entailed in making them, and what I used to make them. The piece that I was particularly proud of, was for a lady who said 'I'd like a purple necklace that I can wear to a special occasion at night.' Ok. So I bought a semi sticky product (haberdashery department forget name), that you can put things on and can peel them off. I brushed it onto a surface in the shape I wanted for an intricate necklace, that came from behind the back of the neck, down around the front, and went down about 4 inches from the throat. Then I literally spilled small gold beads, and beads of every shade of purple (lilac, mauve, lavender, amethyst etc) onto the slightly sticky surface. Lastly, filling in the gaps with heaps of crystals for the effect under lights. Everything was held secure on the surface. Then I wove fine gold wire around through every bead at least three times to secure them all together firmly. The migraine from hours of staring closely at the intricate work, was worth every minute just to see her face when she saw it. It was stunning, and looked amazing on her. It took two weeks to finish. She was happy to pay $300 (Aussie) dollars for it. She would never see anyone else wearing the same necklace. For a simple single strand necklace, it was usually $20 to $30 dollars, earrings with a pearl or crystal drop $15. Anything fancy or intricate $25 upward. Remembering that only one of whatever I created existed. Thank you for the comment.🙂

It looks deceptively doable .. as someone new to wire wrapping, I failed miserably! :o) I think I need to walk before I run. Sorry sometimes my hand blocks the view, but you just want to curve the wire around the tool, I try to adjust my hands as much as I can to make wire visible, and then i show how it is looking at each step, so hopefully that makes it clear enough to follow along
