so far ive been using it for a couple months now, it has been great i use it mainly for lighter duty applications, i use it to check all my tires and top them up to spec, and keep it in my car as a backup cause it can probably fill 2-4 tires that are very low on a full charge. for the scratching issue, i use the cloth bag they provide and i place the unit on top of the bag, haven't had any scratching like that on mine, that seems like user error, u gotta take car of ur things. negatives about it are that it cant take out pressure, but its pretty easy to do that without it and it isn't meant for insanely heavy duty applications, but i didnt buy it for that purpose. and also for specific stems its a little harder to get on, like motorcycles tires, but for car tires no issues. again for $40 the value it provides far outweighs the cons. thats my thoughts on it, its a very handy tool to have, and yes you can go to gas stations and pump them for free, but ideally you want to pump ur tires when they are cold, so this allows me to just check the next morning after i park the car, and get a proper reading and do it all in my garage. It has also allowed me to help my neighbor out because his tire was at 4 psi and too low to take to the gas station, so i let him borrow mine and it filled it up to 32 in about 5-6 minutes, using about 1/4 battery charge, he ended up buying himself one after this haha. another thing i should mention is that it is pretty loud, its bearable, but i don't like the sound so i just wear some cheap earplugs and $8 harbor freight noise reduction muffs. its very easy to store, convenient and charges pretty quick.
Um… I just place it on top of the tire whenever I can. When the stem is at the bottom, I just stand it against the tire… I also use it in the rain, on 100 degree days, on freezing days, it’s pretty resilient.
What is missing from so many of these portable compressor specs is SCFM (standard cubic feet minute) or metric equivalent. That, and duty cycle, are the two determining that determine how fast you air up ('rated PSI' is basically meaningless). If you have a large tire (or 4 large tires if you are airing up after off-roading) it makes a huge difference in air flow, and cycle time (if it cuts out to cool off periodically, that's a problem)
The only real world test for this that would make sense is if I had a lot of tires to pump... and a lot of free time hahaha. I could just go to a busy Costco and offer to pump their tires while they wait for the pump station to free up... hahaha. But I have no concerns about battery life from my use and the self-drain is very low.
battery is life is great if your using it to top off tires, i regularly check my tires and fill them up to spec, it lasts a long time if your using it like that. if your using it to fill up a tire from essentially 0 to the proper spec, it will take up a little over 1/4 of its battery life, which isn't bad at all considering it charges rather quick. so it depends on your use for it, but again $40 is a bargain
This pump is too heavy compared to all their other much better pumps. Hands down the worst possible choice from their entire lineup. But that's what you get for electronic shopping at Costco

Muy Bien!
I paid more for the x8 apex before costco had these. AT 40 it's a great buy. Can't reccomend enough.
agreed

I got mine in Canada
What's the pricing out there?
I thought it would work as a power supply but it doesn’t work.
Don’t remove the hose.
What were you trying to power that it couldn't? (Its max 10 watts output) via USB-A only. USB-C is for charging input only.
wdym dont remove hose?
Test battery life wouldve been nice.
