Or in the case of the first female pilot “What ! They dubbed my voice over with a man’s?”

Maybe it was a long day but that 2nd actor seemed really lazy and not wanting to do any of it.

Older A-wing pilot had some energy.
I always thought we should’ve seen some gunners scenes from the Millennium Falcon in the battle.
It would've been cool if they included them in the Special Edition.
Would’ve been cool to see the Falcon being used as a full military ship with a full crew of engineers and gunners
Everyone in the comments about the actors being terrible it doesn't matter. They would have been dubbed over for the film by voice actors. All the original pilots from A New Hope and ESB were dubbed. That is why they are feeding them their lines. They weren't trying to get amazing performances just enough of a mix of footage that they could insert them into the film where needed and dub their voices in with a voice actor.
Fun fact. One pilot (Sila Kott) was actually played by a woman, but then overdubbed by a man.
So were Wedge and Biggs dubbed too?

A lot of these pilot lines even if they weren't seen in the movie were probably used for background chatter during space battles.
I would love to have some of the pilots be some awesome aliens.
Thank goodness we got Admiral Ackbar and the Mon Calamari as the commanders of Home One

4. Mon Calamari: Sorta bored ... again.
5. Falcon crew: So much falling apart.
6. Crix Madine: One could say they act as if it was a meeting for tea.
Acceptable for the aliens as they're gonna get redubbed, but the first one is just kinda bad; the older lady is fine, even if she flubbed some lines

General Madine's ad libbed "May the Force be with us" is epic.
All of those lines were Admiral Ackbar’s lines in the final cut. It looks like the actor who played Madine was a placeholder to test out shots/lines etc. so if that was ad libbed, it’s awesome bc Admiral Ackbar’s delivery of that line has always been one of my favorite moments in the film.
@@wormskull2454 I believe it was because they weren't certain if the Admiral Ackbar puppet would look good enough to be used in the film so they wanted to have a backup just in case they had to ditch him.
I’d pay Disney for just one scene to live out my OT fantasy. It would make them millions for little money compared to the Titanic Star Cruiser

I'd love Directors Cuts for the prequels and OG, and fan edits of the sequels.
I've seen fans edit the likes of The Last Jedi and turn it into an amazing film, just by cutting off the fat and rearranging some scenes

I get the feeling that the 2 first pilot actors didn't get enough preparation or time for their roles. They're being fed their lines and it seems the amount of concentration it takes to remember and repeat them back isn't allowing them enough luxury to really be in their characters, fully understand the dialogue and deliver their words with the right type of emotion or intensity. I wonder if they were given their scripted lines at all before shooting or if so early enough to read them enough times.
What characters? They are hardly fully formed characters! Some of ya’ll are delusional. . .
Also they both have more british accents which is typical of imperial officers from the core rather than rebels from the outer rim.
And I was worried about being an actor and not being able to memorize lines when someone’s feeding them All the lines. Would be cool to see them in the movies
those first 2 pilots really phoned in the dialogue - no wonder they were cut. Interesting there were so many troops on the Flacon running around, as if it is this huge ship
The first one’s footage is used but there lines are dubbed over by green leader. It’s the a wing pilot that gets chased by two tie interceptors and dies

@@therichieboy I'm watching the completed Endor space scenes from the movie and I'm pretty sure that some of the first actress' footage was indeed used and dubbed over by a male actor. It's too bad that she ended up playing a male character and couldn't at least have another actress dub over her.

Oh Madine was _awful._ Just the worst.
I always assumed they didn't bother building the Falcon for "return of the jedi." All we see of the exterior is a super-fake looking matte painting Han and Lando talk in front of and then the cockpit during the final battle.
But, no, the exterior set of the falcon was built for the deleted stand storm scene and the interiors for all these hilarious pointless scenes of random rebels running around for no reason!

Honestly so weird they kept the first male pilot but dubbed over her with a male actor in the movie. That scene always felt off to me and it made sense when I found out the dub looks so weird because it’s a masculine voice coming out of a feminine person
I noticed that too. It's too bad that they had to genderbend her. There wasn't any female representation during the battle and I would've liked at least the Mon Calimari pilot to have also made it in. I think he had decent acting, and additional takes are also a thing if they had time for them.
EDIT: Honestly the older female pilot too so that more of the older rebels could be in the battle, plus more female representation.
Interesting how a lot of these are just alternate versions of scenes in the movie, just with different characters
They just film the same thing over and over again with a bunch of different extras and then decide what works best and what to use when they are editing it together.

They might have gotten a better reading from the actors if they gave them the lines before hand than just repeating what they are saying.

Actually she is IN the Film. They dubbed her voice with a Man's. She got one line before her ship got blown up.
Why are they reading the lines to them and having them repeat it?
because everything is dubbed later with the voices and tones they want. these scenes are mostly for the director to get a feel of what to do and what not to do for these scenes.
Pity the alien pilots never made it in.

Should’ve restored some of this for the special editions instead of that awful cgi band instead.

First two pilots are A-Wing pilots. The first female pilot was indeed in RotJ, but was dubbed over; "Got it!".
