This video took a long time to make and is very different to my usual videos. Cutting down 31 days of footage, so it isn't way too long was very difficult.
Let me know what you think of the format ❤ and consider supporting me here: www.shop-laced.com/exclusive.html#/

bro, I'm in wrist guards, g-form knees, ennui shins and helmet every session. there is NO WAY I could skate confidently without wrist and knees at very least.

Refreshing to see a realistic portrayal of the 'skate everyday' style thing. I did it a couple of years ago sort of by accident when trying to finish a little video project and definitely felt very burnt out with it. Positives and negatives but definitely not as perfect-living-best-life-ever vibe as some people try and make it out to be lol

The confidence thing is real. I did the thirty day skate thing , five years back, during my holidays. Would do house renovations in summer during the day and skate at night. Day five it was so hot I ditched my pants for shorts and my usual knee, shin hip pads and skated in shorts and a singlet. I skated big transitions and ledges and confidence wise , didn’t worry about falls with no padding.
    I miss that month.

You gotta be the one to tell them about the chemicals! Who else is gonna get the ball rolling on stuff like that? Good job on the consistent skating, btw!

Plus, don’t they have environmental rules there? He could use that with the city council & they would stop doing that.

If you're pushing yourself in a session, then you'll need a rest day after. What I used to do was get in my skates every day, but I'd just roll around and casual some easy tricks one day, then push myself to exhaustion the next. Since all my parks were 30+ minutes away, I'd only hit the park 1-2 days a week, usually the weekend. Good luck with finding a groove!

Nice perspective! A note on being more flexible: it is not necessarily due to stretching, but more to practice: tissues (muscle...) get a bit "destroyed" each session and regenerate a bit differently. Of course for that you need a good recovery period, and 24h is kind of the lower bound. Some argue that a good recovery time is also as important as practice for progress.

start at 3 days a week, and move up as feels right. always include a recovery day or two.

I really enjoyed your perspective on all of this. It's nice to hear people talk about the ritual of skating so analytically and weigh the pros and cons of it all.

I'm going to do an Every Day challenge but I gotta change it up. Picking four Kizer frames and skating with each one depending on the weather and time of day. I bartend, so I get late night skating after my shift with my Kizer Trimax frames with led wheels. Kizer SUV 125s for off-road and rainy weather. Kizer Element 90 for rockered and city exploring. And Kizer Fluid for aggressive. I love Kizer's weird ass frames.

I didnt know this is a thing before watching this video but recently I kind of noticed these predictions as well! I am a new skater for close to 5months and 80% of the time, I have been skating everyday for at least an hour. The higher energy after a rest day is very obvious.

I feel like the rest days are important. Throw in some of those while you skate everyday and = perfect combo. 🙏

Very interesting i try skate everyday but i dont aggressive skate everytime some times its nice to just tke out the rec skates and blast some sidewalks id say its 50/50 for me between the two the rec skating definitely helps with the cardio side of things long non stop skating 10-15kms

Well I know its quite different from doing tricks and all, But at 52 I ride and electric skateboard.
Living in NY with the winter, Yes your feet fall out of condition while not skating. You look alot younger then me so keep your head up Thanks!!

Amazing video man. I’ve been wanting to watch this since it came out and finally got the time to sit down tonight and watch. Injuries suck. But better mental health and having good cardio is definitely a better benefit. You’re such and amazing genuine person and I appreciate that so much.

Always have a rest day in between every session, keeps it fresh and your stamina up 👌🤙

  • @rururu5630
    @rururu5630 ปีที่แล้ว

I think you should mix it up. I was skating every day with tri-skates for a period of time, and my back was crying out.
Lately, I have been switching it up with 4x 90, and my back is a lot happier since my legs can take the stress on the 4x90 while my back rests.
I have been able to increase speed and distance since doing this. I also started swimming twice a week to give my body a rest from skating.
I feel better and am making more progress skating five days a week and swimming two days. I think doing the same thing every day can lead to overuse injuries.

I'm 37 and it seems like if I skate a few times a week I stay comfortable and consistent and don't need as much warm up time. If I only skate once every week or two, I feel like I lose all my progress and by the time I'm warmed up, I'm exhausted and ready to quit.

probably not the most common question here. Brandon used the word counselor to describe someone who does some spraying@ the park. What is a counselor exactly in this reference? Just curious.

  • @eltoppdog

You don't have to start hard and do tricks. Spend some weeks just skating, maybe flat ground jumps.
It's easy to underestimate just skating around for the sake of rolling.

  • @DiscoDonnyWedekind

You need more sleep for recovery. Eat better and start a fitness regime and your skating will get level up! Your stronger than this brah!
