Gar Fishing Isn't Easy: But the reward is worth it

Watching your videos helped me land my first gar two weeks ago. 4'9 that weighed 39.4lbs (bled). I filleted it, got 15.8lbs of meat. I'm tanning it's skin to hang and getting it's head mounted. Used 80lbs braid with 131 wire leader with a 8/0 circle hook

I fish out in the trinity river and the brazos river . We Catch monsters all day on carp , mullet , bluegill & tilapia
