There's a pretty simple explanation actually. Recorded versions give you the ability to explore your creative without limitation. A live performance is such a limited environment (especially on a low budget) it's almost impossible to perform complex music with only a few musicians. In the studio you get to take advantage of the textural qualities of a wide variety of instruments and production techniques. This is nearly impossible live.
hey, i kinda agree with both of you. but i dont think this is a harsh or illegitimate criticism. its their opinion, and its shared by others. doesnt mean G.bear should/will change. its ok to criticise bands you love, as long as its coming from a sincere and reasonable place. dont you think?
@deframecourt i feel as if grizzly bear and animal collective are the ones to define this generation in this genre. not necessarily beach house and fleet foxes (even though they are both great). but definitely not the walkmen. no offense.
Best. Band. Ever.
This is crazy. I love their style of songwriting. This is easily as good as the album version.
One of my favorite videos on youtube.
life is romantic and beautiful with those musicians!!!!! so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is one of the most insane live performances ive ever heard. un-fucking-believable.
That was really wonderful.
I wish I knew of grizzly bear three years ago... I'd kill to have seen them live
Now you know where Fleet Foxes' "English House"-intro comes from. This is amazing right here.
thats just amazing
incredible
goOosebumps
i'm so mad that i missed this two years ago. f my life
Are you still mad? Lol
Awesome.. I get a nice peek into Good Records too!
"I've lost my head in my wandering"
you can also google lyrics anytime you have a question you know...
this is before they got big right? cause nobody in there is paying any attention..
@CBoyd101 Loopers of awesome
does any one know how to play it on guitar?
Of Montreal and Grizzly bear on one bill is a tasty little morsel.
They overproduce their CDS, unfortunately. I saw 'em live a little while ago and I couldn't help but wonder why they do it.
how would i go about doing this?

Me too. And I have to say, I was a little disappointed with their album Horn of Plenty. It's exactly what I don't like about their studio recordings.
What is Daniel saying at 1:35? "I've lost my hair in my wonder brain."
i've lost my head, in my wandering

These lyrics aren't the same as they are on the album. Everything is the same, except for the lyrics. Thanks though.
lol. i just read this and it was put very rudely. i'm sorry! haha
