The suspense is high to see the outcome as we wait and hope to see that video of a coyote engine running in a ZR1 body.
I've done this type of custom engine/chassis integration before. First get the custom bellhousing done so you know for sure how the motor places relative to the drivetrain and body. Then I''d call Canton oil pans and find out the minimum clearance for the front of the pan below the windage tray, the space between the bottom of the pan and the rack/k member, and find out if they can integrate the stock dry sump as that will affect the pan shape. Then with that info get the motor mounted where you want it / it needs to be. Then cut yr stock coyote pan as needed and fabricate the modifications you want using tape and cardboard to test fit something you can actually see. Once you got that the way you want it measure and get a custom Canton pan. Then reroute all the hoses. Then do the custom headers. Then the real problems will begin with integrating the electronics.
I’m still taking credit for this whole idea coming about. If you go back a few months you’ll see me comment “coyote swap the corvette, no balls” a couple months later and I’ll be damned if he ain’t swapping it 😂

Awesome progress. Not sure if you would have the room but a dry sump system would keep that pan super low profile. I see moroso has two pans that could work, the measurements are on thier website. Part # 20570 and 20568.
Hey just a friendly heads up Alex, at 1:40 it looks like one of the hard lines for the steering rack got kinked. Don’t want that to become a safety problem for ya down the road!
@ No it doesn’t. A coyote motor is a waste of time and a ton of unneeded complexity. Doesn’t make any more horsepower per cubic inch then an LS motor does for all the complication and extra weight. Less in fact. Coyote motor barely squeaks out 1 hp/in.³. An LS motor is typically 1.1 to 1.2 hp/in.³. So like I said, what a worthless swap.
Your math sucks! LT2 makes 1.296 HP per cub. Gen4 Coyote makes 1.656 HP per cub. When you add boost the Chevy gets beat even worse! Besides that you have to pull the engine and fully build an Lt to handle the boost. Coyote can handle lots of boost in stock form. Just add boost and a tune…. Just because your d$@b ass thinks something is true, doesn’t make it so. A very low boost and tune Coyote is 700 plus HP, very easily surpassing the 638HP in the LS 9!
A factory sealed coyote can make more power than any LS ever, and with no meth or ice tank and no heat soak issues Tell me why no ls9 beat the coyotes at FL2k ?
I'm all about obscure swaps but dude you havea ls9! ffs... just build the hell outta the ls9 and enjoy the coyote is just way too much work when you already havea excellent base ls9 that can take ANYTHING you could dish out. 😂😂😂
Anything can take anything you dish out with a built motor. Well alot of stuff can. The 4v fords (not just the coyote) can all do 1000+ wheel easily and reliably with nothing more than rods and pistons and boost. An ls9 is gonna need alot more than that to do those numbers. How about that in addition to heads and cam plus alot more cubic inches to achieve similar results.
@amordeweso the coyote is light as fuck. I gaurantee it isn't much heavier at all. It's larger because of the layout that's just how dohc are. It can also make huge power with stock like reliability and drivability unlike the ls that needs everything but the kitchen sink and will still drive like ass.

Would a dry sunp oiling system buy the clearance you need? You could probably reuse the zr1’s factory system for it
There might be a bit too many clearance issues in the engine bay with the way most dry sump kits are mounted for The coyote.
