Man that dark paladin original art is so good
Feels like they throw a dice for the grades at PSA
now they do, if u submitted 10 pack fresh cards back in 2008 they would all come back 10
Thats why BGS is the gold standard. BGS is better. You get true grading.
@@Habeev07 I've always wanted to know which was held in higher esteem. Is this a new trend towards BGS? Because I have heard PSA was the preferred company. Their gradings were worth more.

@@andrewadami3920 i think its easier to get a good grade at BGS, but it changes for 9/10, a BGS 10 is harder to get than a PSA 10 i think
Dark Magician Girl has always been my favorite card. The artwork in secret rare is unmatchable. Keep up the great work Ruxin!

PSA grades have to be the most inconsistent thing since fast food lmao, some wicked grades tho congrats Rux keep killing it brother!!🔥🔥🔥
I wish people would use BGS more for that reason.
@@eliaspinero1337 The one issue with BGS is they have much more intensive grading than PSA - a PSA 10 may score betwen 7-10 with BGS. Meaning a lot of the PSA 10's we see, might not still be graded at 10 if resent to BGS.
@@kohmsl8310 And even through that's the case PSA graded cards are worth more if you sell them. Just the name alone sells with a premium.

Im very surprised about the mystical elf, it looked okay. For the Raigeki, does PSA know about LOB wavy cards? I don't see anything marked on the casing that signifies that it was wavy. It would be interesting to know if they misjudged the cards grade based off a wrong reference point.
They know about wavy lol. Check out some videos from experts that work there, they know way more than you think.
The elf has a bend, so it is an auto 6 unfortunately. This Raigeki is glossy, but the centering was horrible so I see how it got an 8
My most recent submission came back with those same strange marks inside the case. Looks like little white squares of glue.
"This is next card... maybe has some scratches here, i can see a slice in the corner, not a perfect centering...

At 8:38 I think there's a bend on the top right corner of the red-eyes, that's the reason it got a 7 maybe
My favorite card was red eyes black dragon I feel like people rather have a blue eyes or a dark magician but nah red eyes all the way.
Which Red Eyes? I got one in a Maximum Gold BOX and it’s insane. I like the Gold color.
I love the anniversary pack art. I also pulled one in maximum gold and your definitely right it’s pretty cool looking.
Got three first edition 10's coming this week - Thousand Eyes Restrict, Right Leg of Exodia, and Buster Blader. Been sitting in my binder for 15+ years!
Definitely between B. Skull and Dark Paladin, love their designs so much and the purple scheme of fusions was my absolute favorite on color alone!!
Ahem, I have few of the same cards 1st edition ones back from 2004 or so, wonder how much they are worth. Entire magician line up I might add, excluding the magician girl, never got my hands on one of those.

Back centering doesn’t carry much weight. My other one has the same centering and got a 9

From the looks of it, the top corner of the Red-Eyes was bent. I noticed it was off when he pulled the slab up

my favorite card was the dark magician girl 9, that's awesome. So was injection fairy and mystical elf was really cooll, I'm sorry it got a 6. Blue Eyes White Dragon was still awesome.
why doesn’t psa provide reasons for the score it would be a lot more helpful
Because then they would need to hold themselves accountable and have a reason behind their grading lol
They are already so far behind that adding that would double or triple wait times. It just doesn’t make sense for PSA or for us. I don’t want to wait triple to get an explanation
@@Intrepid_Explorer you may be onto something. Collectors have been speculating that PSA intentionally grades valuable cards harsher, which is something they’re not supposed to be doing. Like for the 1986 nba fleer packs with the cream of the crop rookie Michael Jordan, they grade Michael Jordan in particular way harsher than the other cards in the set even though there’s no reason to other than to fix the market price
@@dathunderman4 they grade millions of cards and are backed up now more than ever, theres no time. If you want a reason as to why your card graded the way it did go to bgs.

I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to write down a couple scribbles on a piece of paper while reviewing the card
Natural human error is the issue I believe
For example when you get your card back and the description on that piece of paper does not match the cards appearance well there can probably be some legality issues with the customer and PSA, that I’m sure PSA doesn’t want to deal with
I’m sure there are multiple other reasons which PSA has for not implementing this into their system but such factors may increase the amount of money spent which PSA may or may not be ready for
Red eyes I believe had a bend in the top right corner, unless that's just the glare from the lighting thats making it look that way.
I can't not choose DMG as my favorite, though Gemini Elf is a close 2nd

7:20 not to be a debby downer, but I think I see a small thumbnail type dent towards the bottom left. About 1/4 of the way up from the bottom, slightly off from the edge in the dark brown.

i really dont get why neither psa and bgs do not document their findings with the card. they should totally photograph every flaw that made them put a lower score in a category and write like a short sentence with their reasoning. or are they doing that already? (i really dont know anything about grading companies but i think that should just 100% be a thing)

I cant believe when I was a kid and had some of these cards, I probably held around 40k worth of cardboard and ink.... and threw them away.
same my dad sold them on ebay for like 10€ a full box with like 4000cards
I gave mine away. Had stacks of them. Had binders full of holographics.

The point is the reason for these cards being so expensive is that people like you threw them away, so theres not many left. If everyone would have kept their cards, they wouldnt be worth as much today

They're rating it like that because of the images not being centered in those LOB cards, I think. If you look they all have a white line on the left side.
The B. Skull Dragon is one of my favorites as a kid, and one in amazing condition like that is so sick! Sweet deal man
Raigeki was OC on the front from the bottom up and right to left and on the back from bottom up and left to right so they would take off two sets of points for that. However that shouldn't enough for it to be an 8 so it must have gotten another point taken off on a different category like if there was a scratch on the holo that can't be seen with the naked eye or the corners but I didn't see anything else, I feel that was a harsh grade.

Epic PSA returns on some of the most iconic OG cards. My favorite out of the bunch is probably the Dark Paladin.
My favorite card that I own is my 1st Edition Dark Magician! Sadly it's not LOB!!! I love the 1st Edition Kuriboh man! Looking forward to submitting to PSA real soon!

Must be a lil annoying you can do all you can to make sure nothing happens to the cards once you open the packs, but then have no idea if they're graded slightly lower.
psa is rigged. i have a feeling you paid for express, them knowing you would probably ask to regrade, made money on you... It's sad :/

Edit: I make absolutely no claims or accusations in this. I'm not saying the cards will lose value via a scandal or that someone is a fool for owning graded cards. Not at all. I'm just pointing out risks which are inherent, many collectors and dealers know this. We objectively don't really know if internal controls are well-designed or properly implemented at PSA. It is assumed based on reputation. I'm not going to say PSA got the grades wrong here, but I have a different issue, one that would constantly be on my mind if I owned expensive cards graded by ANY service. The short of it is that your 20 year old cards, even ones graded 10 years ago, are only as valuable as the current reputation of the company. Keep reading if you want more detail.
There are inherent risks with the way they operate. It's a "Trust us, we're " model for the hobby. I don't want to claim anything, but the value of PSA graded cards depends solely on whether collectors trust the ratings, therefore also the authenticity of the card. The FBI is investigating PSA for potential fraud involving the authentication of knowingly doctored baseball cards - trimmed cards, supposedly. This affects anyone who collects or deals in PSA baseball cards. You can do your own research. There's a number of articles from Washington Post and other big publications on some of the controversies.
It's just that... there isn't a regulatory body or 3rd party audits of their operations, no? So everything PSA does is on their word. We have to trust that their grading process is free of misstatements, intentional or not, but we can not verify or substantiate PSA's assertions (i.e. the grades themselves) with any sort of oversight. They are the authority. Their processes are proprietary. One significant scandal can erase the value of a collection. So that's why I decided to not get into collecting or trading in graded cards.

Red eyes is one of my favorites since i first started collecting
The red eyes had a slightly bent corner that is only seen when you had it at the right angle under light.
I am sending a MRL-000 1st ed Blue Eyes Toon Dragon and it is roughly the same exact shape but a very very slight corner bend. Now i'm beginning to lose hope lmao.

looked like Gaia had a very small dent on the back bottom left about an inch up, or that could of been the case i dunno.

My favorite card aside from Blue Eyes was Injection Fairy Lily! My sister and I had that one as kids and she carried it around everywhere.

I don't know if it's as common in Yu-Gi-Oh as Comic Grading, have you ever considered cracking a case and resubmitting?
I have before, but only if I think it is misgraded (which is rare)
I submitted two GBI God cards (Ra and Obelisk) to PSA and the Ra got a 10 but the Obelisk got a 7 and I still cannot discern a noticeable difference on either card. PSA sometimes makes absolutely no sense on how they grade their cards.
On the red eyes dragon when you look at the backside top right corner there’s a small bend you can see from the reflection. If I’m looking right. It just might be my view

Blue eyes white dragon from SDK is my favorite card. The Kaiba and Yugi starter deck were the first set of Yugioh cards I bought. Before I only managed to get cards by trading snacks and bartering from other kids at school. It was also the time me and brother started playing the actual card game too!
