For the 2010 model, Ford switched from a replaceable fuel filter located just in front of the fuel tank under the car, to a 'lifetime' filter which was part of the fuel pump. The fuel pump itself, meanwhile, is located inside the fuel tank, so that's where the filter lives as well. thats why I couldnt find one in front of the tank on my 2010.
OZrider&beyond up to 2008. The new models have have fuel filters in the tank that are supposed to last the life of the car. Just a typo in both the video and description. Thanks for pointing that out though
Hey man I broke both of my clips taking it off and the new clips that came with my filter are a pain in the ass to get on. Did you have any issues with that one clip you had to replace? Cause I’m at the point of where I think they sent me the wrong ones with the filter lol
@Bransomm i assume the white plastic ones? I bought my filter from the dealer...try to google the part number.if the clips break, you can get a package at an auto parts store with various sizes
Could be alot of things....take starter fluid and spray it into the intake. If it starts you most likely need a fuel pump, but q correct diagnosis is needed
Critical point... always check for Fuel leaks after you start it. Good Job.
Thank you for the long video. I'm new to this and I need to see every step. 👏🏼🙌🏼👌🏽👍🏽
Ugh can't wait for someone to do a 2008-2011 focus vid
Those models are in tank so they should last the life of the pump or car

I'm aware. For some reason I have never thought to change the video title.
So is it for a 2000-2011 like it says in description or 2000-2007 like it says in the video?

DefaultSlayer I thought after 2008 they went to in the tank filters but you had me second guessing so I looked under mine and no filter. 2009.
OZrider&beyond sorry to waste your time, but I would count yourself lucky because the filter is a real pain to change!
I apologize for the long vid, but this job can be a pain in the ass. So I figured I'd show what I went through!!

Also. Most the clips can be released without a tool, it just hard to access.
I was driving and i was pressing the gas and the car wouldn't speed up and it started making weird noises and now it won't start is that the fuel pump

rust everywhere yuckk
This car is at 218k miles as of today. The rust isn't to bad compared to other focuses I've seen
my focus has 260k miles on it, and there is nowhere rust visible.
errrwerwer werwrwrwer I live I the Midwest..they salt out roads in the wintee
yea that sucks, i live in the europe But it is a fact that the Fords are very rusting cars, and they do nothing about it.
