okay so I’m practicing volleyball I’m learning all about it and what I wanna be . and I’m confident that I’m going to make the team and if I don’t I’ll keep trying and see what I messed up on but if I do make the team Ima put my all in it . Your videos help me a lot . Thank you koko ❤️. If anyone has advice please let me me know
Girl I just got into volleyball but I’ve learned so much. If you have trouble passing try holding your platform and when the ball is coming your way position you’re arms where you want it to go. When setting start with your hands at your head and push your arms up instead of flicking your wrists and keep them stiff. When serving watch and aim the ball where you want it to go and serve the Ball with a stiff palm and lift the ball instead of throwing or tossing it . I’m still learning myself but I hope this helps!!😌
Hi, I don't know if you have had any experience with playing volleyball in clubs or high school. If you're going to try out for high school that's great however if you want to develop and continue to play volleyball at higher levels consider club. I am a self-taught player and 5 months ago I wasn't even good enough to play with middle school kids and I am in high school. However, I realized if I want to become a better player and want a future in the sport I need to dedicate a lot of time and energy into practicing. Like Koko said become an all-round player because you might have a position you want to play but most of the time your positions change depending on coaches and how they see your potential. So your best bet is to become an all-round player. Take things slow even if tryouts are coming up fast. Like for me, I went from underhand serve to standing overhand. Then when I was comfortable with standing I transitioned to working on jump float by myself with no friend or family member to help me practice. After I got float I began working on high toss jump serves which I am still trying to get a hang of. So take things slow even with diving I first worked on practicing picking up hard driven spikes and pancaking and now I am focusing on properly diving (so I won't injure myself). I can proudly say now that I am good enough to play on my high school senior team and play club. Work on everything and never compare yourself to players at your age because it will hinder your confidence. I stopped comparing myself and focusing on just improving. However, I did compare and look up to professional players so I can work towards being as good as them one day.
Thanks to you, I've found my place as an outside hitter, and my goal is to make it to college D1. You've helped me in so many ways and I love you and your videos soo very much. (My pfp is me playing club hahaha!) Also, my mom is an alumnus of A.K.A! I noticed you were wearing a shirt in one of your early clips haha.
“The outside hitter is usually the strongest swinger” Me: ;-; I have noodles for arms and barely can do a push-up Also me: “yes this Position is for me”
OMGGGG I’ve been waiting for this vid FOREVER. Thank you so much for all of your videos they are sooo helpful. Is there anyway to practice hitting at home and by myself.
I play at a modified level and i have been a middle blocker for most of the season. I asked my coach if i could play something different just to trying it, and he said i would be and outside hitter at our next game. I know almost nothing about it so this video rly helps fill in most of the blanks.
Thank you! I'm Trying out for my first time (7th grade team) I've only been able to practice for a week, and my tryouts are in early September. I've been practicing non-stop for the whole week and watching your videos is what has helped me improve so much in this short amount of time. My passes are not the most controlled and half of my serves go over the net, but compared to a week ago I'm doing so much better! I'm still really anxious about making first cut, but I'm putting in my all! If anyone has any advice for tryouts that'd be great! Thank you so much!! :)
My tryouts are Aug 17! I’ve been practicing and I’m a lefty that serves with my right hand . Im also a 7th grader.I have open gym today and Friday which I’m anxious about and tryouts! Also good luck with your tryouts!Im sure your gonna make it.
hi koko! you helped me to get into my state league team (WAVL) and be a libero!! you helped to to understand the rules and helped me get onto the team!
What do we do if we are afraid, or not confident for try outs? The coaches children are getting in and I’m scared I won’t make it... I mean try outs aren’t for another couple months but I’m scared..
I don’t know what position to play. I am tall, loves bumping the ball to other people. I have gotten told that I am a hard bumper/server. I have made the decision to tryout for club volleyball in December right after quarantine. I have been practicing a lot during quarantine. I am thinking somewhere in the back row would be a good spot for me. Because I can hit the ball hard and get it over the net. But I don’t know what position to play. I need help deciding what position. Can u pls help me KOKO? 💘💗💞💓
can you please help me out? i have one of the best overhand serves on the team BUT i just got my jumpserve and it would really help me if you could show some good ways to learn how to jump higher for your jumpserve!! thanks coach coco i luv your vids💕🥺🏐 also i'm an outside hitter on the left side mostly so thanks this was great info💕✌🏼

Coach koko I used to be practicing volleyball with my sister and now she doesnt practice anymore even though she wants to make the team how do you think I should help someone who wants to continue to play but doesnt want to put time into practicing
Could you make a video like this for the setter position? I want to be a setter and I want to do everything I can to get better, your videos help me a lot

This is so confusing because every video picture article person tells me different names and where they are I thought outside hitter is the back help I’m extremely frustrated pleaseee
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me, I’m 15 in like a month and I really want to start volleybal, is that still possible or is it kinda to late?
Coach koko, can you make videos for jumping high for attacking. And I am 14 years old my height is 173 cm and my vertical jump is 20 inches, is it good for me? Pls tell about that😢
So I’m a 6th grader and I’m really looking into playing volleyball. I’ve tried receiving with my friends but it’s honestly really hard for me but most of my friends say I’d be a good hitter but even tho I’m 4”8 at my age can I still be an outside hitter?
Hi I’m a beginner at volleyball I was wondering what position I would be good at.I’m a 10th grader,I’m 5’4 and I can run and take off really fast, and jump pretty high. I wanted to be a outside hitter but my swinging is not that strong.Have a suggestions?

I hav never played volleyball competitively before and will be trying out for my college team! I have been to the volleyball summer camps so I know a little bit but have just never played for team! I play for fun! I am 5’6 3/4 or 5’7 what position would you recommend I try out for? And what tips would you recommend for me to do to prepare for try outs against people who have had years of experience!
Ah yess! I'm trying out for the team and I'm gonna try for outside hitter so this was super helpful! Oh yeah also, is it possible to have 2 positions? I'm new to the sport so I'm not exactly sure aha
This year I'm trying out for my highschool team (im a freshman) I currently don't have any experience. Can anyone give me some advice on how I should be practicing 😅
Okay I have a volleyball question: I have never played before but I already made a team so when people ask what position I play i am confused. So if I play one position, and you rotate positions in volleyball, does that mean I play every position? That is what I am confused about
When you tryout,do you get to pick which position you want to play? I’m just curious because I’ve never played volleyball and I was planning on being a outside hitter because that’s what I’m more interested in. (Mind you, I’m 14 and 5’2)Since I’m short,I’ll probably have to be a Libero
Hey! I’ve been a outside hitter for 2 years (this year is my third) and what I’ve learned is yes it’s nice if you’re tall but when it comes down to it your jump is more important I’m 5’3 and the thing that made me an outside hitter is being able to jump high and spike and play Defense. If this is the position that you wanna play go for it and if you have a nice jump and good timing it shouldn’t matter.
I really wanna get into volleyball but I feel like I can’t since i’ll be trying out in my sophomore year :’) do you think I still have a chance to be on the team or is it too late?
you can play second outside hitter, that means you are the defensive one who rotates before the setter and receive and defend more compared to the offensive first outside hitter. you can just ask your setter to give you low quatros, shoots or pipes to get you away the block. ♥️
@@seungminnie7610 oh so like the opposite/right side hitter? that could work honestly! but i heard that position is more suited for left handed people, would that still work for me?
@@khr0me06 oh no, the opposite position is interpreted differently now. coaches like to play with the whole use of the net all to the antennas and would prefer right handed opposites and left handed outside hitters to hit line better. they don't receive much anymore and are usually the first options of attack, think of isabelle haak, paola egonu, ivan zaytsev, and indre sorokaite compared to traditional one's like gong xiangyu and risa shinabe. the outside hitters and liberos do the receiving work. it would be a plus to have a left handed outside hitter and have the setter push the set all the way outside, imagine purposely attacking the opposing setter to force their libero to set?
Made the team in 7th grade and have never played before 😭 The coaches said I should be outside hitter and I was like “okay sure” I DIDNT KNOW WHAT IT WAS SO IM TRYING TO FIGURE IT OIT HELP
I’m an outside hitter but I’m going to watch this anyway because you can always learn thanks Coach Koko! ❤️❤️
@Harley Law can i reply since they didnt? Im a outside hitter and im 4’9 :)
@LittleGamerplayz lol ig it was but it was middle school so yeah lol bc definitely i would not be a outsider that short
@LittleGamerplayz im a ds in highschool now :)
@LittleGamerplayz defensive specialist

You should play back row or be a libero. On my team last year there were a lot of short players. If you like volleyball you should play!
Do I have to be tall to be a outside hitter I’m short but I can jump
i want to be in all positions how can i practice??or start?? by the way im heading to 8 grade.
You have some great tips on hitting 👍🏼

The outside hitter rotates around the court, however their main job is to attack the ball! You’re right on track.

Okay I have a volleyball question:
I have never played before but I already made a team so when people ask what position I play i am confused.
So if I play one position, and you rotate positions in volleyball, does that mean I play every position? That is what I am confused about
When you start playing in games your coach will give you a position to play they’re probably seeing what everyone is best at by rotating
Can u do one on DS (I want to be one)
yep
I injured my knee cause I feel off my bed. I haven't been able to practice and I lost a lot of skill
omg im so so sorry 🥺🥺🥺 i promise you that you will get back in the game. just don’t give up and keep practicing after your recovery
