Poe wasn't just a poet. He wrote a ton of great short stories, as well. He's mostly remembered for his gothic horror output, but is also often credited as being the inventor of the modern detective story. There would probably be no Sherlock Holmes without first C. Auguste Dupin and the Murders in the Rue Morgue. You're might be familiar with a lot of his work to some extent and not even know it, just through pop cultural osmosis. The guy's influence is everywhere.

Just saying, there is one kind of undead called Ravenant whose body raise from dead especially for revenge. I believe that was what happened to his mother

Just a heads up ladies if you want to read up on each short story of Edgar Allan Poe's work after each episode just Goggle "The Fall of the House of Usher" on Wikipedia and when you click on the episodes arrow the first thing you will see is a link to each work of his, which happen to be the title for each of the series episodes.
I went into this blind (other than knowing the title is a Poe story), and wound up bingeing the entire thing in two sittings. It is so amazingly good, as usual for Flanagan and his regular actors. The writing and acting is just perfect.
They need a better TV, when he said his mother was behind him, she really was, when the attorney said he wasn’t going to turn and around and he said fine my me, you can see her walking away in the background. Shocked that got no reaction. I watched it on a Sony 75 inch tv with the highest Netflix tier to watch in 4k and Dolby vision to notice, can’t blame you for not catching it 🤷🏾♂️

Usually in English an adjective comes before the noun it describes, blue sky, black dog, etc. but older evolutions of English allowed for descriptive adjectives to come after the noun, so you might read antiquated phrases like “lady fair.”

I dunno if that information is relevant to you but it's the truth. I've rewatched your Hill House series probably 4 or 5 times. Its perfect halloween season backround noise.
day one of the 'please watch alchemy of souls campaign'!!!!! it is SO up your ally. you guys always deliver on intricate character analysis and you pay close attention to the way a story builds. you will LOVE and ADORE this series. there's a female assassin character that will have both of you in a chokehold. the romance is romancing like never before. I literally beg you to watch it.
Oh yeah. I'm here a bit late so you probably know by now, but the stakes in the typical sense are Indeed loq, these are horrible people, and that's just what allows the tone for the whole series. It's different from all other Flanagan's stories in that sense, but I also think it's the fliside of the coin. He has a way for the poetics and for playing with cause and consequence, and this is kind of... The darker pside of it
As someone who didn't get bored and finished the show: I liked it when things came together, as in you understood what and why was happening. It was a bit slow in places, and a bit uncomfortable in places as well (as it has a lot more gore and body horror than a lot of other Flannagan works) but personally (and I know that ranking Mike Flannagans' works is a very subjective thing) I'd place it before Bly Manor.

Although this was not one of my top Flanagan shows it was sooo different, intelligent and good. The deaths of every character are perfectly executed.

I started this show but got bored even though it looked really good at the start, I think I was in the second episode but does it get better?
