I grew up watching Laurel and Hardy as a kid. I recently watched the video This is your life. These two great artists are so humble compared to some of the individuals today. True greats with unique humor and pure love. Not seen today or probably ever again. RIP
Laurel and Hardy were a bit before my time but since discovering them on TH-cam I cant get enough of their antics. Of those Ive seen so far, "County Hospital" is my favorite. Isnt TH-cam wonderful?
I loved these two gentle men. I grew up watching them, my family life was difficult and violent, abusive and traumatic. But I sought and found escape, comfort and humour in their feature films and countless shorts; silents and talkies. They still bring the same old familiar comfort and reassurance when I see them or watch their films. I was born in the North West of England in 1974, they never knew me, and I never knew them. We never met or spoke - but what they did for me, as a child, was first and foremost, save my life beyond measure. I have always loved these two clowns and will always love them. Thank you Laurel, thank you Hardy.
The narrator didn't mention that after Oliver Hardy's death. That Stan Laurel never again did anymore movie projects. He didn't go to his funeral because he was so sad and sick over his death. Ollie understood. And Stan knew without Oliver Hardy it would just be part of his former self.
I was just a kid when I started watching Oliver and Hardy on BBC TV. They were great! And now watching this I know that Ollie (not me!) was a heavy smoker and he obviously ate a lot. Both put a lot of pressure on his heart. And the result was only one thing: death! Ollie, you were a great person!
I loved Laurel and Hardy as a kid and those shorts were classic back then. They still crack me up today when I watch them and will always enjoy them until I get caught home to be with Christ Yeshua in Heaven.
I remember reading that he never got over his brothers death. When an old friend of his told the story of his brothers drowning Hardy was trying to keep from bursting into tears on live television.
Well, I loved these two and they brought laughter to me. There's always naysayers who like to throw a wet blanket on the laughter of the antics of Laurel and Hardy.
Interesting/informative/entertaining 😉. Although gone☺. For a few years in my life span I had experiences with bouts of gout😭. His being so over weight added to difficulties being able to work at the movie studio.
In the title of this video it says, "Tragic Ending of Oliver Hardy." But it doesn't actually mention his death. Well, he died at the age of 65 in 1957. His death was cancer-related and this was due to him being a lifelong heavy smoker!
This could have been much better if it were kept under 5 minutes. Repeating the same things over and over does not add any value, it just drones on endlessly.
Laurel and Hardy There style inspired other comedians worldwide like Pat and Patachon - Danemark and Loriot - West-Germany Seems Hardy had suffered from DIABETIS in the days when the medical treatment of this illnes stll was at the beginning and Insulin was not that much available.
@ratsochicknlove so you could leave a stupid ridiculous comment that's why, if you have a problem with it then let's meet up you punk out I'll find you
