That moto changed my life 3 years ago and after 25 years of WANTING and not being able to been overweight for most of my life 360 lbs. 3 years ago I took charge of my life and elected to have RNY and 265 lbs lost in three years. Was able to finally make the summit with my son 2 weeks ago. I actually tearing up at the top.
Next summer, I plan on hiking Timp, starting at Timpoonke Campground to the top. When I come down, I'll come down on the Aspen Grove side where there is cell reception! You'd be surprised how many people would be at the summit for sunrise on a Saturday morning during the summer. I am a TERT volunteer during the summer and it is not unusual to have over 60,000 hikers in the summer.
Are you referring to when I read the AllTrails reading at the peak? I’ve noticed AllTrails stats always adjust after you’ve finished a hike, learned to be patient with it lol
Those views definitely did not suck! Enjoyed how you labeled points of interest, on the saddle and leading up to the summit, and gave notes on the cell coverage and recommended water carry 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed your hike! Of course it's impossible for me to watch without thinking of how your personality and looks remind me of your GrandShaw and his brothers. Timpanagos Storytelling Festival, 2nd biggest storytelling festival in the country, is nearby, I hope to get there one of these days. Maybe I could make that 15 mile hike at twice your age? Not sure. But I'd love to. We will be in Utah in a few weeks, but don't plan to be that far north.
