What do the numbers next to the combos mean? Like combo #4 for example says (253)? I'm quite new to notation so sorry if this is obvious!

The number is the amount of damage the combo do.
TBH, What's the point (Besides being flashy and epic) of landing the last combo compared to the next to last, since it only does 1% extra damage? Wouldn't there be more opportunities to drop it?
I agress with you i think safe and consistent execution with good damages is always best. HOWEVER people do like the Flashy endings lol

In the second combo, is the dash really necessary? (I understand timing is everything, but if I dash I can’t seem to pull of the heavy downtilt in time, but if I don’t dash I not only have the range but also the time to pull of the med&heavy downtilt)

In the game button config W is Weak Attack also known as Light Attack in most games.

It hits but it's all about timing and making sure you do crouching S as early as possible to allow GHA to connect with ease.

W = Weak attack
M = Medium attack
S = Strong attack
STYLE = character's stand/unique persona...
