@leecallam-target182's is a much better advice. It's weird how people go make tier list and give advice on things they haven't even done with such confidence.
lol i have experience in ecommerce and trust me its risky, and hence not easy, on the other hand content creation is not that risky so its not that hard, whatever she said is actually true. its like learning to crawl before you walk, then learning to walk before you run....its not what we wanted to hear (get paid big bucks quickly) and yes it will take that much time
As someone who spent 10 years side hustling every single thing she said is TRUE! NO SUGAR COATING AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT! I had to try most of these myself to learn what’s up. The fastest I made money was junior freelancing.

Absolutely loved this video. No BS advice, straight to the point. I am looking into becoming self-employed and the online advice is overwhelming and most times clearly deceiving. This gave me so much clarity - really life changing!
Just as some feedback for you (since you mentioned you aren’t always sure what people like about your content): I enjoy your content because you appear confident, successful, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Your friendly and conversational tone makes me feel like I’m getting top secret tips, without coming across as gimmicky or a hidden sales pitch for some other service. I like that your advice is actionable, realistic, and you have the experience and portfolio to back it all up. You are an excellent communicator and clearly understand what barriers keep most people from reaching their professional goals! Keep up the amazing work, I can’t believe you give out all this information for free - but please don’t stop, because you’re making this info accessible and leveling the playing field for people with little to no starting budget. It’s so refreshing to see someone running a successful business, doing what they love, and not trying to pull the ladder up behind them.
I like the straightforward presentation of these vocations. It's so true how so many TH-camrs are trying to sell viewers on 'easy' money such as tossing up digital products, drop-shipping, and the like. I love making items and I have tried to do online retail for my handmade products like my cold process soaps, and quickly found how difficult it is to sell retail. The process of making my soaps was time consuming, the cost to even be able to buy the supplies, the overhead of having a website and trying to film content because it seemed like what I needed to do to get people to see my products was soul crushing. I never even broke even after 3 years- even selling in person and in a physical store... But whenever I have offered skill-based services I had people coming to me and asking me to work. I think the advice of selling services is SO good. This comment is getting too long now lol!
I've never seen a single video from you before (and no idea why it was suggested to me) but I'm really impressed with the way you break everything down about the different types of businesses.
Digital products can be a trap for beginners! I’ve seen so many friends fail after believing it was easy money. 💸 Anyone else learned this the hard way?
That list is truthful and 100% correct. I myself am sitting comfortably in the B tier right now and have been looking at those channels further down the line. I would never recommend to anyone to start a business in your C-D tiers, unless you already have vast experience in that channel or an unfair advantage with a similar product from another job maybe. Freelancing is and has to be the gateway drug - most of the time.
😭 the more content of yours I watch, the more obsessed I become - it just gets better and better! And it was already great from the beginning! I can't wait to save up enough for your DBM course. Btw, I love love love your font and B-roll choice for this video, I think it very much goes in line with you and your brand. While I appreciate all of the work you did I am now depressed and discouraged. I have absolutely no desire to do any type of freelance work or any of the startup businesses you suggest. I did work on TH-cam for 10 years and I’m glad that you mentionedit is really only a side business at best. After 10 years I earned the same part-time salary that I earned when I first started earning money on TH-cam. A huge portion of TH-camrs earn well below the poverty level. I did have multiple sources of income, including two books that I wrote and published selling on Amazon selling digital products and I was paid by a few companies to promote their product products. I still at best earned a part-time salary for way more than full-time work.I still think because I have such a strong creative drive that I am going to have to attempt the print on demand way and just see where that takes me.

If you don’t have a 9-5 is freelancing a good start. So I wouldn’t really contemplate it as a business… it’s a job. Business means you invest money to make money. This starts at tier C in my opinion.
Totally agree. Plus, freelancing is not easily scalable unless you scale up your working hours. And very often you have to bid for a job going lower with your price than what you value your time and knowledge. Wouldn't include it as a business.
Thank you for this. It's very helpful as I'm trying to determine not only what kind of business I want to start, but also in trying to understand what kind of business I'm willing/likely to be successful at, based on what kinds of (business-related) activities I enjoy, and what resources I have. I think that many pros and cons of freelancing and product-base business are similar, you just don't mention them. You have to have SOME knowledge or experience to start freelancing as well, it takes time to get clients unless you already have a base (like the audience), freelancing is also highly competitive (like any other job), both give you freedom to work from wherever you want, and freelancing is not as easily scalable. I have project management experience at companies and I swapped to trying my hand at freelancing. I’ve cold emailed people who could use my services, and I’ve applied on Upwork to dozens of jobs, as well as trying to get full time employee work. Nothing is happening! I’ve heard about ghost jobs, and companies being more picky lately, and I have a friend who has 15+ years of marketing experience plus has started and run his own 6 figure company in the past and he can’t get a job or clients either.
Anyway, I’d love a video about this topic and some suggestions for survival in this sort of economy. (And honest truth about if you should hunker down and not waste your energy trying to start something, or if there are different methods right now)
Thanks!!
Nice video. Thanks for posting.
Great point on needing an existing audience for selling digital products.
Your communication skills are excellent, Deya.
I like how well you use your hands to emphasize what you’re talking about.
You deserve much more views.
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing knowledge and wisdom with us. I just want to say that the big hug was very enjoyable. I am still smiling😃. Thank you so much. Respect from Pakistan.
great presentation...i used to do what you suggested, free-lancing...I used to make tons of insane money, then one fine sunny day, the demand for that kind of service simply vanished. I am wondering what to do next ....
