      Not really bro. They taught her conventional and then went on to do Sumo, not really fair is it. Sumo has a way smaller range-of-motion and hence is easier to lift with since their legs are more widened so its easier to reach the thighs. Its just a cheap way to perform a deadlift.

      @@Wispay Not even remotely true. Around half of people do conventional instead (even in competitions) because it's easier for them. It completely depends on how your body is composed and what you're comfortable doing.

    PS: I am an EMT, not a fireman. I just started volunteer fire recently but my main experience is in an ambulance. We use firemen on calls, hence the joke. I also want to clear up using “beaten to death” to really mean beaten badly and for a long period of time. Nerves got the best of me to relive it. EMS is how I am paying back the fire/pd officers who intervened and helped me. 💜

    You just lifted 205lbs despite not having ANY weightlifting experience, and you DEFINITELY had more in you. You are literally by far the strongest one of them naturally, it's just that they have experience in lifting. If you even try lifting for 6 months only you can easily beat all their numbers.. so yes, SIZE does play a huge factor in this, especially among women.

    For any ladies on here considering lifting heavy or powerlifting, DO IT! It’s a great path to wander down if you’re looking to stay focused (in & out of the gym) & to push yourself! Sounds cliché but powerlifting has taught me valuable lessons of life like you’re a lot stronger than you think (mentally & physically). Find your tribe, chalk up & get after it!

      Would love to try it and build muscle but I'm small, and it's hard to eat 2000 calories a day, I read online that if you are underweight you are supposed to have a surplus of calories to burn off

    • @MelanieMN
      @MelanieMN ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DarkestDesires93 You don't have to start with 2k calories immediately, you can work your way up day by day, increasing the amount. To start gaining energy I'd recommend walking a lot daily and try out some light exercises. Being active through the day increases your bodies energy level in general. I'd also recommend educating yourself on proper nutrition if you're actually underweight, cuz healthy fats and so on might help you gain weight if that's what you're lookin for

    This was seriously my favorite one of these. Sometimes women get so competitive it’s easy to forget how incredible women can be when they’re cheering each other on. It’s the best. It’s our super power. Let’s never let petty jealousies make us weaker when we can be SO AWESOME.

    • @skyh2394
      @skyh2394 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's nobody more competitive than men lol, testosterone and biology plays a role for it.
      And weaker? Depends. Compared to men? Definitely, the mens version was way heavier.

    That was great to watch, they're all very strong. Got to say though that doing a sumo deadlift is easier than doing a normal deadlift. You can lift heavier on sumo than normal deadlift. Some of the girls did sumo and some did normal so we can't tell who was actually the strongest.

    • @dmitri2366
      @dmitri2366 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not true. Its all about proportions. In comps powerlifters pull conventional all the time. While others use sumo. Some lifters can get into the setup easier because of their proportions. However, some were using a belt, straps and knee sleeves while others didnt. They should have done it raw.
