Christopher Montoya: Tape 2 Tape Trailers, The Rock V1&2, Spawn, Star Wars Episode 1, The Mummy

In my first editing class at the Academy, one project was to edit a movie trailer. We chose a movie on VHS and edited on a tape to tape system. As this was my introduction to editing, you will see the progression of my skill from crapy to pretty decent. The first two trailers are of The Rock, different edits. The audio is terrible with improper audio levels (music overpowering the dialogue) and the footage is a bit degraded after multiple edits. Next trailer is Spawn. The audio is slightly better and the video quality as well since it took less versions to get the final trailer. Next is Star Wars Episode 1. We were suppose to make 30 sec trailers, but I wanted to try and recreate the Episode 1 trailer I seen in theaters. I changed shots and made it my own though. It's actually pretty good considering it was done on a tape to tape system. I also did a long cut for The Mummy, the next trailer. This final trailer was all about the timing of the music with the shots. This one was also pretty good.
