      I would never have though this was designed by Zaha Hadid! Architecturally, the shape and form of the airport looks quite oddly weird. It's in fact totally arbitrary, not quite smooth and organic as expected in her usual designs like Heydar Aliyev Center, Azerbaijan. All in all, it's NOT a typical architecture designed by Zaha Hadid. Probably someone has intentionally altered her original concept. Also, who could forget her originally beautiful Monsoon Restaurant Sapporo in Japan, with her unique concept of fire and ice! The aerial view truly proved the airport design absolutely arbitrary. Some starfish species have more than more than 5 arms, but a starfish commonly has only 5 arms that extend from a circular middle. The 6th arm of this "giant starfish-shaped" airport was intentionally lowered to probably emphasis the passenger entry and to set it apart from the flight arrivals and departures. However, it arbitrarily makes the airport look like a man/woman lying face down with his/her arms and legs stretching out like positional torture, and the distinctively split arm for passenger entry looks like 2 hands (of another person) holding the 'bottom part' of the person being tortured! It's just visually disturbing. Somebody must have intentionally altered Zaha Hadid's architectural concept.

    the building feels heavily inspired by a flower! it is the most evident around 1:09. it truly feels you're inside a canopy formed by the petals and the rooftop opening resembles pollen waiting to be pollenated by airplanes almost mimicking the bumblebees. ahhh zaha you really stir up our imagination. wish I could've met you in this lifetime!

      GUESSING USING MY ARCHITECTURAL KNOWLEDGE:
      I think you woud be surprised
      Comparitivelty its design will make it easy to cool especially, tall spaces, all the panelling being segmented, means they can easily manage to cool it especially with the high level glass and windows. Zaha loved moving roof windows and it will also be part of he fire compliance
      Heating again is another challenge. But given how many people will be in the space it will only be a late night early morning issue

    • @Annabelle_Xie
      @Annabelle_Xie 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I learned from the news that the glass are special one that can let light in and keep 30% heat out.

    • @MickSimmering
      @MickSimmering 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The amount of glass used, especially in the roof, would severly increase the cooling expenses during the summer. add in the huge amount of travelling people every day which also produce a lot of heat and you have a cooling nightmare. Then again this is clearly a prestige project and the amount of light does really add to the spacious feel of the relatively low building (in relation to its width).
      Zaha hadid (rest in peace) was known for her prestigious architecture not for sustainable architecture.

      Ahmed Albayati I’m not really speaking about Iraq particularly. I’m talking about the Islamic world. I feel sorry for what Iraq and much of Middle East has been through recently, but to one day truly make the Middle East proposer, you guys have to learn to abandon the extreme, fundamentalist part of your religion, starting to embrace modern ideas such as religious freedom, and equality between men and women. Only when Islam is no longer radical can you guys truly advance yourself

      Islamic radicals, terrorism, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, mass destruction... etc
      all of these names it's just an excuse that other strong countries, especially the USA, take, to invade us
      but in fact, the Muslims people are the most people who are suffering in the world and the most one who was killed and abandoned their homelands!
      and pls don't tell me the children are also radicals!!
      we were happy in our countries before these wars and before 2003 we did not hear anything about these names in our country (IRAQ)
      but we started to hear that after the invasion of liberal US! to us, so can you tell me why?
      every culture have his habits and his rituals, you should not force me to be like you and I will not force you to be like me, we are happy with what we in and you are also can do what you want in you special life
      it's not about religion there are plenty of Muslims in Europe and they live peacefully, of course, there are some bad cases but you should remember at the end we are humans, not angels so this is not because of Islam
      the media always try to export this Islamophobia to people

    In additional to the magnificent architecture look, this is an extremely functional green airport, a few things pull memory, the no single identical transparent ceiling let in natural light reduce energy consumption, the starfish shape ensures 10 min from center to reach any gate, rain water is collected for reuse, entire building sits on damping columns to isolate vibration from metro underneath, four gardens, Huawei 5G network, facial recognition for identification, ticketing & security, robotic valet parking speeds up check in and not (not tip accepted), 20 km near by highway surface heated to prevent snow ice in winter, this is a certified green building…..and I want to fly to Beijing just to experience this airport. Look forward to the completion of new Xian Culture Centre, a silk belt shape ZH team new landmark carry her signature shape.
