Hi James. I’ve only been watching you for 2 months. My grandfather came from Biggleswade to Canada in 1914. He spoke fondly of home. I’m sorry he never got to journey back. Your videos keep him in my thoughts. Wishing you happy times.
I do loads of walking down here in wet and windy Cornwall Sean. I always take a walking pole with me now ,it makes negotiating uneven and muddy ground much easier. Great to see you embracing and enjoying your new life!!!!!
Enjoyed your walk today, so nice the sun was out for you. Glad you had your Wellington Boots on instead of shoes. Love the sound of the water in the stream. You deserved your cup of tea after your morning walk .
I try to do 10-15 miles on bike a day most days. Works wonders for mood and the mind. Those platforms next to the tracks with the rubber edges are exactly like trains in Japan.
Omg. I can't believe how close those houses are to the train station. And now they got all the electric pylons. That can't be healthy 😮 love your channel. Makes me want to go for a walk.
You were at the Bute colliery site, first steam coal pit in the Rhondda. First coal raised in 1854. The old level was partially bricked up but still possible to see into the tunnel into the 1990s. A local man walking his dog peered in, just as we all used to do but unfortunately he was smoking. The methane gas exploded blasting them both off their feet, luckily they were not hurt. The site was made safe and a permanent method of extracting the gas installed.
Watching more of your videos this evening I felt compelled to write a poem (something I have not done in quite a few years,I hope you like it) here goes....🫣 A poem for Sean As I wander through the Rhondda, in my wellington boots, I see flashbacks of my childhood, I go back to my roots. The school that I went to is no longer there, Only photos and videos that I don't mind to share. I will walk through the valley,so quiet....serene and talk to the trees and the mountain's so green. I'll share all the rivers, the streams where I roam, The mountains, the songbirds, there's no place like home. Your videos are so inspiring to me.i just thought I would share this with you and your many subscribers 😂 take care Sean 💜
A Sussex sausage every second Sunday! That’s a good tongue twister! I have lived most of my life in Cardiff and have only just visited the castle. I’m currently living in London, but moving back to Wales, so your videos are very inspiring Sean. I’ve even visited Treorchy High St and had a cup of tea, very impressed! Thank you for great content.😀
I live in a small town in Willamette Valley Oregon US. We have busses. But, if I want to go to the market the round trip would take me 2.5 hours. Due to cutbacks, no weekend service anymore. There is no train or bus to the next two towns north or south. We have lyft and uber but very costly. We do have shuttle service to Portland airport, not the (cheaper) Eugene airport.
Beautiful little streams , magical! Amazing walk with wellies and a train station in the mix for good measure. I feel well and truly pampered, Sean 😊 Thank you so much 👌🏻
Bore da Sean, Ahh you cant beat wild Wales, i absolutely love these nature walks, i enjoyed it so much i'm going to watch it again, i hope that doesn't make me sound weird😂 Don't forget to try & hunt down your daffodils that you & your cousin planted up the mountain. Just a gentle reminder in case you forgot. Fantastic that the trains are back, new adventures await. I hope you have a lovely week. Annie 🏴
Good morning all. Sean I had visions of u stepping out of your wellie at the start of all that mud but thankfully u made it through. Thanks for sharing your walk it was wonderful and I love hearing the snippets of history u share. Enjoy your day. 👍
Good grief at 3mins that path seemed treacherous - wellies did their job but so glad you didn't slip in that mud - absolutely loved how you talk about so much during this walk 🌿
I really enjoy learning about people and places and their history. So, I am enjoying your channel. What better way to learn about Wales than from someone who grew up there and has returned to tell us about the past and present. From Oklahoma, USA.
You were so right talking about children’s play areas , I’m 75 now I lived by the sea and we would go off my cousin and I and have adventures , we had jam sandwiches and a bottle of water and be out all day, by the beach or in the countryside, sadly when my children were young I couldn’t let them play in the woods or the beach on their own too many bad people these days. That’s why we need play areas ,so they can be watched. The walk by the stream and among the trees is so good for our mental health , I consider myself very fortunate to have spent a large part of my life in countryside.
Morning Sean, you continue to trigger memories of my childhood in Blaencwm, talking about people walking over the mountain, and then about the tunnel reminded me of something my mother told me many years ago, she was number seven in a family of nine so her oldest brother was many years older than her. She told me that her brother was courting a young lady from Blaengwynfy and he used to walk through the tunnel to see her, I’m sure he would have been in a lot of trouble if he had been caught but he obviously thought it was worth it, and it was, they married and his wife became a much loved auntie of mine. I wait eagerly for each of your posts and the memories they bring to mind, thank you.
You're so right about taking things for granted. The opposite is also true though. I've lived in my house for over 30 years now, but only last year discovered a patch of lovely woodland literally 100 yards from my front door! I now make sure to get there at least once a week to watch and photograph the birds there 🙂 I can remember getting the train to and from Treforest and Ponty when I was in the Polytechnic back in the 80s 🙂
Greetings from down under Australia 🇦🇺! Loved the vlog Sean 😀 Beautiful walk in & about the locale. Interesting snippets of information too! See you in the next one 😀
Love what you are doing with the channel and with your life, Sean. Give the cats a scritch for me. Hope you're feeling better and we look forward to more videos when you are ready... but we can easily re-watch these in the meantime! Greetings from near San Francisco in California!
Wonderful walk and lore. When you jumped over to the side of the deep mud a commercial hit and screen went to black just for a second, talk about a dramatic pause! That was a spooky spot with the old chair and fire circle. I wonder when they switch the electric line on if you will hear a humm from those large transformers. Its nice to see the difference of the hills during the season. ❤
What a pleasure to have another walk with you Sean. To see the woods in all its beauty is always a sight to behold. Hubby and I have lots and lots of countryside but not really woods, Lincolnshire is rather flat 😊 That being said we are only quarter of a mile from the sea so, no complaints here. I do hope the story of the little dog ended well, we are huge animal lovers so the thought of him getting lost is saddening. The train station is amazing I do hope we all get to go along with you when you do go for a ride. Make sure you go to the loo first though🤣🤣 Thank you for another wonderful and enjoyable video. Have a lovely evening young man. ❤
I am on holidays over here at Kent Maid Stone, And I am from Trinidad West Indies, I enjoy watching your videos and I learn a lot about gardening so I do a bit at home in my country ❤
Hi Sean. Just discovered your channel and absolutely loving your vlogs of your move to Wales. Have been to Wales only once 20+ years ago for a weekend in the Brecon Beacons so really enjoying seeing more of the country through your eyes. Such a big step, your move is, and a big change of life. Sitting here in South London, sipping on a Lemsip 😔 and taking it all in. Very inspirational. You should do walking tours for tourists! Your knowledge is amazing. Looking forward to following your journey and change of life.
Hello Sean…… well that was a lovely video, an interesting walk and great to see the station, looks like you had good weather, you really have embraced the area and it seems to be embracing you…. See you soon xx❤
Hello from Houston Texas USA. I started following your channel on your first hike. I love your childhood memories of being on the mountain. I was in England and Scotland 40 years ago but sadly not Wales so following your channel helps me get a since of your beautiful country. I garden too so i look forward to your new allotment. Thank you
I only discovered your films a short while ago. Thank you I love them. I did love the washing up one too. Who would’ve thought watching someone unpack shopping would be riveting. And yes that is the word. I relocated from near London to the Peak District to be near family and grand babes. I I live on my own but up here people are so friendly. I always have a chat with someone when I go down to the town. And the hills keep me fitter. Sorry this is long.
For a minute there I thought your wellies had magical properties "I've got wellingtons on today so I wont get lost in the woods" this one made me chuckle, lovely walk although in some of those ruts I thought you might need chest waders rather than wellies. I love the flashbacks to photos of how it used to look.
My uncle and I walked down into the Grand canyon back in the 80s, on the way back up we kept finding lots of friendly rocks to sit on. Hi Sean, was lovely to see the leaves appearing on the trees again on your walk! Was so nice to see the horses too! I can feel a Sean train ride coming on soon! Good idea re a live cycle ride, on a Spring day I think that would be wonderful with the Spring flowers in bloom! 👍
I so enjoyed walking along with you today! Next time lets just sit by that little pool and listen to its music and the tales the trees whisper. Thank you for inviting us along. 👵🏻
We French had the strangest rule ever ...we could leave home for exactly one hour a day for errands ( food , medication , sports ...) and some weirdo in the government decided that the police could check if you’d been out for more than 60 minutes . But the catch : we had to write and I kid you not , I Mrs XYZ declare that I know the lockdown rules and that bla bla bla , 2 whole pages describing the rules . Look forward to upcoming videos. Keep up the great work. I didn't realize you grew up there. It's beautiful. Glad you went back home to enjoy your life. The ponies were beautiful. wow You are very lucky you went back and you can enjoy your life there in your home. How wonderful .
Lockdown was a weird experience in my part of England. Every day felt like a Sunday - or possibly a bank holiday. Very scenic part of the Rhondda, thank you.
Another great catch up, I love the stories about walking over the mountain to the next village, and especially what happened during the lockdowns. Lovely horses 😊👍
Hope you feel better. Do not hesitate to call your doctor if your flu symptoms are bad. If you wait until you feel better, there is nothing they can do.
went shopping in exeter yesterday and coming back to cornwall passed a coach that said edwards south wales you talked about edward coaches the other day!
Good job you had those wellies Sean.. lovely views and interesting snippets of historical happenings . .So glad you had it more calm than we did in Dorset, you would have been blown over ! Good about the trains, who knows where we will all be off to now . .:)
Good morning from a glorious day in Wales . I do miss my walks as I broke my ankle on both sides so now I can enjoy watching your videos with a nice cup of tea ☕ and look forward when I can go walking one's again. 🏃🚶.
Great walk again Sean. Love the imagination in the woods.😂. Good idea about the flower beds in station its lovely but it would soften all that metal. Train tickets very reasonable price.
Good morning to you Sean, a lovely walk today, thank you for taking us along. I went walking down my local woodland after heavy rain wearing wellingtons slipped most of the way and the deep grooves caused by bikes were a hazard my wellingtons were caked in mud and walking was heavy going. 😂 You can't beat a good walk in nature regardless of various situations we find ourselves in. During lockdown here on the Wirral, the garden birds could be heard more were seen flying high. No pollution from traffic on the road or sky. It was peaceful. 🙏Regards to you .
That walk was a challenge - told you to get a wet suit. Interesting to see the Station thats good news for all the people living there. Those houses look newish or have they been refurbished. What a difference 2 months make, everything starting to spring into life again. Hoping you would burst into song - but no thats for another time. Loved the horses.
Good morning Sean, nice to see you enjoying your mountain walk, I love seeing all the little streams and waterfalls, very relaxing.perhaps the overhead lines should have been painted green to blend in with the background, but at least it's neat and tidy, also an added bonus of half price fares for 3 months! Take care Sean, happy rambling and have a good St David's day 💜
Hi Sean, you did well making your way through all that slushy slippery mud. What a beautiful view, such an amazing place. Thank you for your video. All the best 😊
Really great video, Sean. It's good to see all this scenery. I recall only going out for one hour a day during lockdown and didn't go travelling to Porthcawl for 18 months. Strange times indeed. Have a great week.
Beautiful landscape. My daughter used to live in Ton Pentire, Tonypandy, and Tonyrefail. My Granddaughter was born in Llantrisant Hospital! They live back here near me in Rochford, Essex now, but I miss my trips to the Rhondda Valley to see them. My son in law even worked in the Rhondda Bowl fixing the machines! My allotment in Canewdon has become a pond, my foot sank so far I lost my boot, and we are the driest part of the country! Love watching your videos Sean. 😊
I really enjoy the historic photos, and with your narration of the present and past, makes your channel one of my favorites.
Thanks, from the USA!
Hi James. I’ve only been watching you for 2 months. My grandfather came from Biggleswade to Canada in 1914. He spoke fondly of home. I’m sorry he never got to journey back. Your videos keep him in my thoughts. Wishing you happy times.

Great to see you embracing and enjoying your new life!!!!!
Nothing better than getting out in the fresh air and letting the endorphins kick in:)
Love it when you are born in Wales your heart stays there where ever you live.
Oh heck no I, would not want to live next to the train track , ooh noooo. The historical photos were beautiful.
What a lovely walk! Thank you for taking us with you! 😊
Off roaders make such a mess. Near us the farmers have put concrete blocks over the paths to stop them
Enjoyed your walk today, so nice the sun was out for you. Glad you had your Wellington Boots on instead of shoes. Love the sound of the water in the stream. You deserved your cup of tea after your morning walk .

This is where your stick would be helpful in all that mud. Lovely walk up the mountain through the mud thank you Sean
I very much loved our walk today, so relaxing. Thank you Sean .
Beautiful little streams , magical!
Amazing walk with wellies and a train station in the mix for good measure.
I feel well and truly pampered, Sean 😊
Thank you so much 👌🏻
Thanks for the walk. Looked lovely.😁
Another enjoyable walk sean bet you glad o the wellies.Looks like bikes have really messed the track up there.have a great day
I noticed the lovely doors on houses as you walked after being at the station.
Bore da Sean,
Ahh you cant beat wild Wales, i absolutely love these nature walks, i enjoyed it so much i'm going to watch it again, i hope that doesn't make me sound weird😂 Don't forget to try & hunt down your daffodils that you & your cousin planted up the mountain. Just a gentle reminder in case you forgot.

Hi Sean. I hope you had woolie 27:22 or wicking socks to protect your feet.
Those looked like little pit ponies. So adorable.
I’m surprised they let motor bikes ruin the paths like that. Nice mother nature has reclaimed the mountain.
Lovely walk
Thankyou
Good grief at 3mins that path seemed treacherous - wellies did their job but so glad you didn't slip in that mud - absolutely loved how you talk about so much during this walk 🌿

I had a cousin called Barry...he was named after the place as my naughty Auntie told me that was where he was conceived!!
enjoyed the walk, really liked that late night drone shot too
A lovely peaceful adventure for the many who can not go outside to the beautiful countryside. Thank you I enjoyed it with my morning cup of tea.
My uncle and I walked down into the Grand canyon back in the 80s, on the way back up we kept finding lots of friendly rocks to sit on.
Parents today have been taught their children's play must be regimented. They surely can't be allowed to have fun
You think of going for a dip and I wonder if there are any fish!
Great video. Enjoyed my walk with you today. 😊
That was fantastic funny and relaxing Thank you Sean ❤
This new content Sean is great. What a fab place you've moved to. Going to be exciting venturing to new pastures :). You really do sound positive and happier with your new life. Sending best wishes. 💚

The vast majority of ppl are nice & friendly though, esp if polite & respectful.
A great ramble, thank you!
Mud mud glorious mud. That song came to mind.

A Suffolk Sausage every second Sunday! 🤣🤣
Very interesting sean. I look faorward to a train trip or two, I love trains and sadly we don't have any here..well, passenger ones anyway 😞

Nice walk Sean, thank you for sharing 🙏 🌻🌷
I so enjoy taking a hike with you. I haven’t lost any weight yet, but my sprit is always lifted.
Lockdown was a weird experience in my part of England. Every day felt like a Sunday - or possibly a bank holiday. Very scenic part of the Rhondda, thank you.

Lovely to start to morning with you on the east coast of the US. ❤😊
Lovely walk Sean, the views of the mountains on your left through the trees was beautiful, and the sky was stunningly blue, such an enjoyable time.
Great walk again Sean. Love the imagination in the woods.😂.
Good idea about the flower beds in station its lovely but it would soften all that metal.
Train tickets very reasonable price.
Good morning to you Sean, a lovely walk today, thank you for taking us along.
I think that you need a long thick branch, to use as a walking stick, to help you through the mud
Another great walk on the mountain. Thank you.
This was lovely. Listening to the streams & birds singing. The views were stunning. Hope you have a great day
