Was the ring idea based on Final Fantasy by any chance? The minute they mentioned that only Kings could control the rings. My mind immediately went to Ring of the Lucii, especially when you said that Gui could summon weapons from fallen soldiers. That's the same with Noctis summoning, weapons from the former kings
I think that maybe after superpowers, stunt driving and swordfights, something like a gunfight would make sense for the next stop. That, or maybe a cool explosion scene to make Niko happy.
They'd have to get an actual show if Netflix wants to continue working with them. If they produced this for their own channels they'd have 1million+ views after a week or two. With "Still Watching Netflix" (which doesn't even SOUND like an official channel for NF) they'll get less than 50k in the same timeframe without actively telling their viewers to check it out every episode.
I really liked the premise of the short. The line "Only kings can use them" implies that Gui's character might be of ancient or unknown royal blood. Then saying "You just started a war" implies that maybe the current king doesn't belong on the throne, and that Gui's character appearing with the ability to use these rings is the spark that the king's enemies need to remove him. My Dungeon Master brain went nuts on the world building implications here.
and the guy that ditched the battle couldve easily killed Gui's character in his weakened state but he let him live cause he knew that he was the real heir and wanted him to continue his journey. Bad guy turns good guy style
> The line "Only kings can use them" implies that Gui's character might be of ancient or unknown royal blood. Alternatively just that Gui's character is worthy of being a king. Like how Mjölner can only be wielded by someone who is worthy.
if there's one things I've learned from watching Corridor it's that depending on the thing you're filming your camera could be as small as a cell phone at this point.
I absolutely did enjoy it. Great job all round! I love the expertise and charisma from the Corridor people. Also, we need you as the new Catwoman. Infiltrate the DCU! 😉
The fact these guys can create a oner in a short period of time better then some huge movie studios proves it’s not always about money but the care and detail that the people working on the shot I’ve learnt a lot watching corridor crew and gives me new perspective watching movies great job 👏🏾
yep, corridor is pretty obviously outplayed by any big CGI studio, since corridor effects are not even close to big budget studio, but the passion and love for the job in the end is making corridor stuff better than the big budget studios
I imagine there is a balance to the rings. Taking them both and using them at the same time causes death, chaos and loss of fingers. But when paired with another person, friend, ally, love interest the two rings work in harmony
For Niko's question at the end, I like the idea that Gui's character is part of a group that specializes in collecting magic items that are too powerful to be allowed to exist, so they must be destroyed before they are used for personal gain
@@clockwork204 no you don't, king could refer to more than being of royal descent, or it could just be based on an old legend that wasn't quite true. Bottom line I don't like the idea of Gui's character being royalty, it feels too generic
@@clockwork204 I disagree, it was cool like 10 years ago but now that idea is so overdone at this point. I would rather have a character that's just a regular person that gets involved for one reason or another
I love the idea of Gui's character keeping the rings as far away from a corrupt king as possible. They mentioned "Only a king..." which made me assume that's who the rings are intended for, and those fellas were sent by this corrupt king to recover the rings from Gui's character. I loved this, and loved this whole series.
This short is so good that with zero context to story, the very first shot where Gui turns around to the guard standing in front of him gave me chills. The posing, the music, the cinematography, the acting does NOT feel like a short, it honestly feels like cinema which with Chris at the helm makes sense.
The reason why I subscribed to this channel, are these videos. I really liked how they bring the storytelling into the action scenes. As for the following possible episodes, maybe The Grayman?
The burn and bleed when he uses the rings is great. Corridor does a fantastic job of visual storytelling, not just storytelling through effects but communicating complication in a story with very simple visual cues.
This is honestly SO amazing! I have loved every single episode but this has to be the favourite so far 🎉 GUI is a bad ass! This needs to be a fully fleshed out story too 😂
Making a gritty, realistic fight scene or shootout from something like The Gray Man or the next Extraction movie would be great. And make it a Netflix show! I'd be so down to watch an hour of them working out every obstacle and problem solving to create the best piece of work that they can
Honestly never really noticed or felt the impact of action design until Chris' appearance on the Corridor Crew channel. Now I feel like I can tell when an action scene has his unique design touches. Awesome work all around!
Great work!! I loved the dialog that sets up the action, and then letting the motion speak for itself. I did notice Gui not wearing the rings @ 20:37 though.
NETFLIX...PLEASE...BRING THIS BACK, put it on your actual streaming service, give it a second season, no more slumming it with 10 uploads a day TH-cam shorts on this dead channel, give it breathing room, this is gold.
The thing that struck me immediately was how as performers that have such technical skills that they have to master they are also such great actors. Awesome job! Top class fighting and top class acting.
No joke, one of the best fight scenes I have seen in anything in a long long time. You guys killed this shoot. It feels like live action anime, and that is hard to pull off. Lots of talented people, the coreo, the camera coreo.......so on point!!!
Unpopular opinion - the banquet fight is the best one in the show, not the market one. It also displays the witcher fighting style much, much more accurately.
as soon as I saw the first shot I was like yeah, this does feel very much like action scenes that I have loved (i.e. The Witcher swordfight). Amazing work.
This was my favorite episode of the 4! It was amazing and I think the additional story added helped me enjoy it more than the others. Amazing work as always 🙏
This onener was epic! The fight built to an amazing climax as Gui's character got more confident with the ring's power. Thanks for another great scene🙏🏾
Watching as this was made to seeing the finished work makes one feels like they are part of the whole process of getting this project done. Kudos guys!! 👏👏
In my mind gui is a apprentice to a legendary master of war/combat who is an old king. He was sent on a quest by said master to retrieve the rings because the kingdom is on the brink of war. The rings are thought to be a myth, a powerful weapon used by a former king 100s of years ago in a former war. They were hidden away so no one could use them for evil. As stated the rings only work for kings but what gui doesn’t know is that the current kings plan is to have gui take his place. He needs a powerful successor and he is advanced in years and not able to fight in the inevitable war. The moment gui put in the rings, that moment of doubt and scoffing. The kings plan is revealed when gui returns to the king and recalls the fight. Gui hasn’t mastered the rings or their power so that’s why they hurt him and take his fingers off.
This is CRAZY cool! Excellent!Been watching Corridor for a while, I hope they keep up the grind. Can’t wait to see what they’re doing 10 years from now.
I could totally see this being a great film, This could easily be the first or last scene of the film and implies that the character Gui is playing is a king. Really enjoy this series and I want more. Netflix needs to make this an actual show on netflix and not just youtube
Ya know, i was so focused on watching/spotting cuts and choreography etc that i never even noticed the cgi. As in, it meshed so well that i wasnt taken out by it or even noticed it as cgi. Giu and the lead knight guy were really on point here.
the best thing about the ONER is that they showed us where the cuts were and it still went by seamlessly!! good job to everyone and big shout out to the homie CHRIS COWAN!!!
Thanks again for having me 🙏🏾 Always so much fun getting to hang and create with you all!
Goat. Thank you and the crew for this! So awesome.
Sick episode!

Love your work!
❤
Thanks for watching everyone! We had SO much fun making this episode. What shows/movies would you like to see us explore in future episodes?
Narcos would line up well with your simulated firearm proficiency. Netflix also did that new take on Dark Crystal. Why not learn about puppets? LoL.
I think that maybe after superpowers, stunt driving and swordfights, something like a gunfight would make sense for the next stop. That, or maybe a cool explosion scene to make Niko happy.
John Wick! Or honestly anything with guns. Maybe Extraction if it has to be Netflix specifically
Fight Club
The Umbrella Academy! Another of Netflix’s own
Why don’t these dudes have their own show on Netflix? I love Corridor Crew
Well this is kinda it, but through TH-cam instead for free.

They aren't interested in the politics of working with unionized crews. They like their smaller, few-men-band crews
yeah, Same idea
@@deagle50ae yeah the name always throws me off. Who thought this was a good name for one of their official channels?

or maybe because he isnt a real king the rings burn
@@poki580 No, the established lore is that "they won't work because he's not a king".
They work, so he's clearly a king.
@@MrMartinSchou I like this more the also the rings cutting his fingers could have to do with a not pure enough bloodline
It's insane that something looking this good doesn't require a massive camera rig to shoot anymore.
if there's one things I've learned from watching Corridor it's that depending on the thing you're filming your camera could be as small as a cell phone at this point.
This was insane. Hey Netflix, give these guys their own show if you like money.
I would say if there is a moment for me to make a subscription on Netflix, this would be it
Quite the opposite. Netflix should keep their hands off independent pros. Next stop is a collab with Henry Cavill and Warhammer.
This was a BLAST making. Hope you guys enjoy it!

I absolutely did enjoy it. Great job all round! I love the expertise and charisma from the Corridor people. Also, we need you as the new Catwoman. Infiltrate the DCU! 😉

Wow, I saw you guys shooting this like months ago! How long did it take for y'all to go through Post-production.

Fun fact, they used guns made out of rubber for all the scenes shot in *Bangladesh
