I feel like one of the biggest contributions to the world Adam and folks like him have done is the enthusiasm. not just about science but that is a big part of it. it's "This thing is so cool!" It is both infectious and it gives people permission to be enthusiastic about their interests.
There is genuinely nothing I love more than two people with expertise in a subject speak at length about their specialist subject[s], so this is delightful. Seeing exactly how much Gav and Adam have learned in their years of working is inspiring, too. They're not just entertainers, but actual experts.
There is something just nostalgic about seeing Adam Savage be slapped in the face in slow motion. Reminds me of the slap some sense into you episode they did on MythBusters

I used to work at a studio and we did this exact thing on me when we got our camera that could do slow mo 😆 I think what was so fascinating about it when I watched it back (and what I saw in this video) was that the movement of a persons head after an impact isn't so much from the energy imparted by that strike, but your body's overreaction to that impact. There's a clear point where the energy from the strike dissipates, and then the reaction kicks in and takes your head WAY further than the impact. Glad someone else had the same result hah!
I can't vocalize why, but the thing in this video that made me laugh the hardest is Gav's hand just appearing slowly from the side of the screen, it's so good
I love these slow motion videos and collaborations. I've seen other demonstrations like this but I'd like to see one where the recipient doesn't move their head to see how the flesh ripples differently.

I noticed that Gavin had a black ring on his right hand in the beginning of this video but not in the other one. Does that ring have something to do with high-speed cameras?
Imagine being a young fan of Adam and mythbusters when it aired and knowing that at some point in the fufure you will get to slap him and he will just say "thank you".
"When my phone will do 5000fps". I had an LG Dare in 2008 that did 120fps. It took 16 years to only double that in new iPhones. It'll be a while before phones can do that fast.
