- Kirb volunteers to take one of his pet decks of yester-year out for a spin against a gauntlet of other great decks of previous years. This is part of the 'Best Pauper Deck Ever Series' where the lads from Cardmarket will take the top 8 of these swiss rounds and play them on camera to find what deck was the Best Pauper deck of all time!
It may be an uphill battle, but we have our friend guardian along for the ride, and we don't want to let them down.

@@myndzi9926 Pr0boszcz recently top 4'd a challenge with Pest with 8 inspector. Might try that out in the next couple of weeks.

This video getting recommended to me by TH-cam is perfect timing. I've been enjoying Cardmarket videos for a while, and I recently learned a store near me does Pauper nights. I'd love to get back into 1v1 formats without spending a lot of money, so I've been really eager to give it a go. This deck looks like so much fun to me. Learning in Game 3 that you can activate Pestilence in the end step to avoid having to sacrifice it for a turn blew me away. I'm excited to see how this does in the Cardmarket matches, and I see you have more updated decklists on your channel. I'll be checking those out, and I'll have to keep this deck in mind when I'm ready to play. :)
I'm also keen to see how it does in the Carkmarket matches. It has Goblins in round 1 so it should get to be in at least 2 videos if my swiss round against goblins is anything to go by. My updated list is still probably a little out of date as it didn't even have Tithing blade, but it is still more streamlined than this version. I still think Black Gardens is the better black control deck of the format, but Pest is more fun for me.
@@Kirblinxy I have too many fond memories of my friend in school locking me down with Pestilence and Edicts while I was still learning how to play the game. Just looking to play casually at FNMs anyway, so I don't mind being suboptimal for the sake of personal attachment. I'll check out some more recent lists- thanks!

1:35h you could pest away all the board and attack with one sentinel. If they trade with the enforcer you remain with 2 creatures, if not you get the monarch back...4-1 very impressive though! Do you think this version is stronger than the more modern one?
Nah, the removal package in this deck is very dated. Like there should be Cast Down's and maybe even Tithing Blade. Deck is going to have a hard time in a meta where Tithing Blade is everywhere though. Deck relys on Guardian a little too much. Need something more hybrid with some extra creatures so the guardian doesn't fall to edicts.

I've lost tickets playing sillier decks. May do it one day once I stop 4-2ing with dredge 😅
Why do you and AdeptoTerra played with under powered decks with no banned cards while Kalikaiz bullied everyone with Familiar Storm?
The decks were all what the people voted for on the cardmarket page. We did get to choose the deck we wanted to play out of the 16 when we signed up. I actually got in early and wanted to try and give this deck a chance to top 8. Adepto was a bit later and most of the broken decks had been taken by then.
