C5Z is a steal relative to the rest of the market for some of the reasons mentioned and some not. Overall though, it's a complete package and dominates at Ultimate Street Car competition to this day for a reason....it's simple, it's light, it's balanced, it's affordable, it fits a lot of rubber and LS...now we just gotta make'em cooler lookin with a bit more aftermarket flavor available...so that's what I'm workin on everyday.
And now you make the best C5 aftermarket lighting setup. I didn’t want to change my C5 to LEDs to keep it original but your design is making me wanna change it up so bad, I just wish I could see it in person first
Drove my dads C6 GS to the gym once. All the Vette owners waived at me. Felt the love and I waved back as well. Gotta love a community that shows love to other enthusiasts. Im hoping to get a c5 z06 in about 2 years. Great video.
Love the c5 corvette. Had an 04 z06 torch red, 01 hatch, 2000 convertible and right now I have an 03 50th anniversary convertible. I miss my z06 though.
My torch red 03 Z just puts a smile on my face every single time I get in and drive. The light weight is so obvious when you hammer down and it negotiates turns superbly just really dig this car bought it in 2016
I got a blacked out zo6 with 35000 miles, only things wrong with it Is thd paint and some slight body damage on the rear fender. Got it for 24 grand. Car is absolutely amazing.
Buddy, I appreciate your enthusiasm for your C5. Nice car! Myself , I drive a ‘07 C6 Convertible , full Corsa , other than that pretty well stock. Sound is very subjective , of course. Though my C6 sounds decent, but not even close to my ‘70 I’d owned back in the ‘70’s. That one was a truly rowdy car, heavily cammed , hi compr. 454 with a Rock crusher and 4;11 gears, full Greenwood suspension. The coup de gras were the Hooker side pipes, which we ran open on the occasional saturday night, just to piss off the local constabulary. Now that baby had a sound that could make you do rude things in your trousers, LOL
V, I totally agree on the styling. The whole leaf spring situation never seemed to phase me, I still love the c5 style over all others. Great car, great video. Thanks for sharing! #NEDC
Before i modded my 02 Z, it got 32.4 miles per gallon on a trip to Bowling Green. I was blown away. The C5 Z will never lose its appeal and all 10 things you said are true and will remain. I would only replace mine if I got a great deal on a C6 Z or ZR1. Not counting on that!!
These cars hold a special place in the sports car enthusiast market. For 20k dollars, I picked up a torch red 04 z06 with 80k that was lowered with grand sport wheels, exhaust, tint and the attention this car gets is hilarious. No one sees these cars on the road anymore and it because its styling has aged gracefully, people tend to love it. Throw on top of that you can challenge more new sports cars not only in a straight line but also the track, and it's clear why it is iconic as it is. My only gripe was that I had to pay 2800 dollars to fix the entire clutch and hydraulic assembly but now it drives a like a brand new car off the showroom floor 18 years later.
I wouldn’t care if this car only made 100 bhp because it looks so good! How a car looks is my first criteria (as it is with woman too 😊). The C8 has way too many intake scoops and sharp angles. Am I correct in saying that the transmission (gearbox) is in the rear of this car? Again it’s a tremendous looking machine. I’m from Europe and have owned Mercedes’ SLK 55 V8 AMG and the 350 V6. So I like the front engine short rear 2 door styling.
when he smashed it off the line and never put it into 3rd... says it all. when i had mine ('02 coupe), by the time i went into 3rd... it was time to take my foot off the gas, or continue past 80...
Man great video! If you had c5z06 Corvette in the title you would have 100k views! Keep up the great work. Do you mentor fellow Corvette TH-camrs? What software do you use to put music in your video? I’m Very much a novice. Either way I subscribed. Thanks in advance for your response.
Thanks for the glowing feedback. I really appreciate it. My channel covers most sports cars. Exclusively cars and their owners I am fond of. I find music via free sources. Here’s a link: www.wix.com/blog/photography/amp/find-free-music-for-videos I’m happy to provide help/tips. The channel email address is attheapexchannel@gmail.com. Thanks for subbing. @@AttheApex do you use ChatGPT to write any of your titles or description? I’m learning also my channel is micro. I get a decent amount of views and my videos aren’t great by any means. It seems to be a lot of thumbnails and title luck

Bought mine for 16k with 34k miles in 2019. Absolutely mint. And I thrash the ever living fuck out of it on the racetrack, the way it's meant to be driven.
the suspension is the place that needs some improvement, , Leave the motor alone but some quaility coilovers would be worth the change over , its not a true independant suspension with those leafsprings on there. A bigger aluminun radiator is a good improvement, the stock radiator is the cheapest , little radiator ive ever seen, dewitts double row aluminum radiator is a upgrade.
Take your hand off the shifter when not actively in the process of shifting, resting your hand on the shifter is why people always have sloppy shifter play and grinding gears (part of it, anyway). Pulling or pushing on a shifter while in gear and cruising is messing up the mesh of the gears and forcing it closer or further from each other into a suboptimal alignment. I don't know why people feel the need to do this, it's not even comfortable, and I see it constantly.
exclusivity - not that exclusive i see them a lot displacement - *shrugs styling - Ehh there are other cars that look better well rounded - ya pretty much sound - even in non Z06s the sound is 👌nice Practical - yes iv been driving my 01 base model as a daily since i bought it in march of 2020 weight distribution - this really only matters if you plan on doing any type of track activity IE autocross.
You shouldn't own one unless you're filling a hole with it. It can bring you back from a bad place pretty easy, but it's worse as a daily than the base model. I have one that helped me through a divorce. If you're the kind of man that wants this, you should probably get a truck, and stay with your wife. I don't blame you if you go the way I did.

I had my C5 for about a year and a half and I still enjoy driving it when I can
I know this is a weird question but how much do you pay for car insurance?
I love the C5 Z06, that’s why I own one but honestly, any c5 with a manual will be an absolute blast!
What about a auto?

I agree 100% took 2 years of looking but found my YEIIOW C5Z. Well worth the wait.
Love my C5. It's my daily. Very comfortable and has low end grunt on demand.
My C5 is not a z06 but i’m still out here beating new camaros, mustangs, chargers etc with my lil 03 💪🏼

I own a C5 Z06 for 9 years I think the C5 corvettes are still hot in 2022 it’s worth it to buy a beautiful and powerful car

Really???Leaf Springs??? Nope...
thats fine, someone who actually deserves a corvette will pick it up instead have fun in your Honda
It's one single leaf spring that connects both rear wheels together. Completely different than what people picture
1.0G on skidpad. Leafs or no, the car handles extremely well.
