Shia beating the shit out of FKA Twigs might have made him perfect for Megalopolis. The damage he caused probably led to her accepting the role for The Crow.
I agree about Quaid as Reagan. It's like Frank Langella playing Nixon in Frost Nixon. I didn't think he was the best choice. But Michael Sheen was brilliant as David Frost
Yes, but she wasn't 26 when she had her breakthrough role, was she? TBF, I don't think the main issue with her Madame Web casting was her age. It was more that her personality didn't fit the wimpy good girl she was playing. They should have cast her as the entitled free-spirited rich brat instead, and had her swap parts with the Black actor.
Never played the games, but based on the character description given here, I would have suggested Rachel McAdams as a much better choice for Lilith. Plus, she's proven she can pull off action and comedy already.
a lot of these were doomed regardless of who was cast. i felt emmanuel was fine in megalopolis. not great, but fine. driver's way worse, hoffman's a more bizarre casting decision, but the truly worst performance in there is voigt.
Also for "Woman of the Hour" I thought they miscast Rodney as well, I feel they should have cast someone a bit more.....well handsome. The whole thing about guys like him is they use their looks to disarm their targets first. The actor they got already kinda looks creepy
I know not too recent of a movie but Klaus was a bring Christmas with one glaring flaw in it. Joan Cusack is a great actress but she was so badly cast for the senior woman Mrs. Tammy Krum.
Bro... it doesn't matter who was cast for borderlands... the script was horrible. The writing team sucked. It was the wrong studio and was 1,000,000% made by people who don't respect the fucking franchise in any single fucking form period.
@@GregOrCreg Looks arent everything when it comes to a role. Micheal Fassbender and Ashton Kutcher both did Steve Jobs biopics a couple years apart. Fassbender looked nothing like Jobs and was nominated for an Oscar because he gve a great performance. Kutcher was the exact spitting image of a young Jobs but was hilariously miscast and his performance was widely panned as the worst part of an already awful movie
This is such a wack feature reel everyone said miscast for Ledger Joker, Craig's Bond, Travolta Pulp Fiction. There's has been some insanely good left field castings that have smashed it. It either works or it dont. What a whiny bitchy video 😅
Anna Kendrick should've casted Cecily Strong for the lead role on Woman of the Hour, yes she's a bit aged out but people in the 70's looked a bit older
Poos precious multi-million dollar earning actors... Boo f***ing hoo. They weren't forced under duress to take the roles. Part of the blame lies with them. I'll always give the upmost credit to Ed Skrein for giving up the role of Major Ben Daimio in the Hellboy reboot after he was informed that the original character was of Asian heritage. Good for him. I wish more actors had his decency and humility. Then again, it might also be because he secretly knew the movie was going to suck and wanted a way out.
I dont want children in movies. Period. The amount of adults abused in the entertainment industry is high enough-- seeing someone who is more than likely being forced to work to support their family before they can legally consent to ANYTHING honestly disgusts me. I'd rather see older people play younger or stop seeing underaged characters in movies all together 🤷♀️
TBF, Quaid looks a bit like Reagan, and shares several of his traits. He looks nothing like Nixon and doesn't give Nixon vibes. Also, he's a much better fit for Reagan than Alan Rickman. Yes, Rickman was by far the superior overall actor (and didn't share Quaid and Reagan's shitty politics), but he was always a bizarre fit to play Reagan in Lee Daniels' The Butler.
Hey that maden web thing is dumb considering Tobey was around the same age when he played spider man and 20 an 30 year olds been playing teens for a long time now
Sad to see Coppola lose it so spectacularly. Then again, he's sadly got form in miscasting young female characters (e.g. his daughter in The Godfather Part III). I believe Nathalie Emmanuel is meant to play a spoiled rich girl, which is utterly laughable, because Emmanuel's sweet, unspoiled, minority vibe couldn't be further from that archetype. If he wants to attack the super-rich, Coppola should have gone after the white people who still possess most of the power. Certainly not Black people, who are the one demographic who've never had it (within the Western world).
"white people who still possess most of the power' That's what happens when you invent fire, writing, the wheel, animal husbandry, farming. Stick with your Angolan mudhuts in the year 2024, still. Blacks destroy everything given to them. Rhodesia, South Africa, every major city in the U.S.
@@toddboughn5168 Indeed if we are being honest here, Timothy Chalemet was not a good choice for Paul either he was too tiny in stature Frank Herbert was very explicit in his physical description of his characters in the books. The Dr kynes Race/gender swap ,in part one, was an abomination.
If that were true, it would count more as a 2021 casting choice. Personally, I thought she was fine. I don't understand all the hate. Then again, ideally the Freman would have been cast with MENA actors.
@@GregOrCreg Her acting performance was quite fine but there was literally ZERO reason to make Dr Leyet Kynes a black female other than typical woke virtue signaling.
Casting someone to play Ric Flair is like casting someone to play Jim Carrey.
You could have said the same about Andy Kaufman, and yet Carrey was brilliant in that part.
Kevin Hart in Borderlands equates to Tom Cruise playing Reacher.
He could play REACHer-round 🤣🤣🤣
I would said that it was worse than Tom Cruise
Thank you for saying "b-bye" as a sendoff, instead of just cutting off. Please, keep that up.
I agree. The abrupt ending feels odd.
He looks more like Jimmy Savile than Rick Flair.
2:53 it’s impossible to replace the natural charisma and intense insanity that is Ric Flair, no one could do Ric Flair
Pipper could
That's something that Nicolas Kim Coppola would try😉
Yet I thought Harley Race in the movie was spot on.
@ was incredibly spot on.
So, are you saying Twiggs was wooden?

Can't believe Emmanuel, who has been awful in everything she's ever been in, was awful in another movie

They do it all the time for TV shows. I don’t think Sidney Sweeney was Miss cast.

Putting Anna Kendrick in this list is just ragebait, she did great in woman of the hour.
Yeah but it's still a miscast
I blame AVI ARAD for the failure of BORDERLANDS
Good rule of thumb. Arad, the Mossad (i.e. FASCIST) agent, should be blamed for a lot of things.
Tenoch Huerta as Ramón instead of Namor in Wakanda Forever.
Sydney Sweeney's breakout roll was in Euphoria as a TEENAGER

We need a best casting choices ever video, starting out with Tommy Miseau being top of the list!! With The Room
The batman, the joker, the joker 2, madam web, morbious.
If there is someone named "Twiggs" in a movie, I am turning it off.

Bill Skarsgard shouldn't be cast in anymore movies. Not good as "It", weird in John Wick 4 and not needed as the Crow.
