There’s kind of gloom over Britain’s future and a feeling that everything is degenerating and has been for some time. It even affects people whose lives are perfectly satisfactory. To give one example, we have no confidence in the police, we don't respect the police and we're right not to respect the police. We feel that public services have degraded, educational levels are appallingly low and infrastructure has deteriorated.
