You can see the castle from my house, living here is a double edge sword, it is beautiful but getting home from work or driving places do shopping etc, is hell due to all the tourist traffic 🤣 all Windsor residents do get free admission into the castle anytime we want.
I hate mass tourism. I can just remember a time when Windsor was like many other provincial towns with just a reasonable number of tourists not like a contrived tourist hot spot that it seems to be now.

Sharon W . Nothing to do with it? She’s been the monarch for over 70 years, therefore I’m sure she’s changed a wall or two. Given the fact that a good portion was completely gutted by a fire and had to be restored is indicative of a change.

It's my first time to see a CASTLE. now everything is seems to me like I'm watching anime cartoon bcuz I have never seen a beatifull castle like this😅
@TheRenaissanceman65 More like, Windsor isn't really a castle, but a palace built on the site of an old castle and immitating its shape. Which is cool, nothing wrong with that and I love it. But then, the best comparisons wouldn't be medieval castles but other palaces (in particular those that are also mock castles) if he wants something comparable with Windsor.

By "castle" I meant (obviously) "medieval castle", Windsor castle is called a "castle" because the English language historically extended the use of the word castle for 19th century palaces that "looked like" castle, or mock castles. My point was that you compared Windsor castle to medieval castles in your post, recommending some for someone that enjoyed Windsor castle, while actually people enjoying Windsor will be more likely to enjoy other big palaces of the same kind. Or at the very least, other mock castles mainly not built in the middle ages.
@TheRenaissanceman65 At this I can only guess you're trolling me. It's a fact that the word castle in English has two separate meanings and that medieval castles aren't comparable with buildings that don't have any defensive features like Windsor or Neuschwanstein castle, and which were built after the medieval age.
And of course, being previously a medieval castle like Windsor have nothing to do with it if it has been entirely reconstructed and if it doesn't keep any real defensive feature. I mean, the Louvres too was a medieval castle at first, and what ? Regarding Windsor : a palace with medieval "aesthetics" = / = a stronghold, call it castle if you want but don't say it's the same thing omg. Both are nice but fondamentally different.

@@alisharosey7948 Overall, I think Buckingham interiors aren't especially beautiful compared with Windsor's, or compared with those from other famous palaces in Europe (Winter palace in Russia, Versailles, Caserta in Italy, and a lot more).
Buckingham's main upside is its location, that's its purpose. I don't find it really notable otherwise, even if the interior is better than the exterior yeah.
@TheRenaissanceman65 It was really convenient for Andy also when he wanted to bring tarts back from shady clubs he frequented much easier to bed them there than traipse all the way to Windsor.
