I worked at Buckingham Palace for many years. The rooms either side of the Centre Room are guest suits. The rooms on the floor above are apartments lived in by The Duke of York (Prince Andrew) to the left as you face the Palace. The rooms to the Right are Apartments lived in by The Princess Royal when in residence. The rooms above the balcony is The Princess Royals office.
Have you seen the Queen's private apartments? I have heard that despite the glamour of the British Royalty, their "private apartments" are relatively modest. Is that true? Certainly, it is know that Balmoral Castle has no central heating system. It is often cold and drafty there!
Trevor Stolz Balmoral is chilly, and if you want to have a private conversation, then you have to put the plug in the plug hole. Sandringham isn't really very nice either. Lots of small rooms. In the room where the Duke of Clarence died, by stretching out your arm from the bed, which is against one wall, you can touch the other wall. The rooms at the Palace are much nicer and just being properly renovated for the first time since the 1950s. They are comfortable in a traditional upper class English style, with lots of old furniture and fabrics, and nothing too gilded or elaborate. Very similar to dozens of houses around the country. Very much like mine actually.

You mentioned the ‘Throne’ room, officially Buckingham Palace is just the Monarch’s office. St. James’ Palace (just around the corner from Buckingham Palace and adjoined to Clarence House (where Prince Charles lives when in London)) is the official residence of the Monarch and is where the actual throne is, although the Queen never sleeps at St. James’ Palace by personal choice.
The Queen is guarded by five regiments of the foot guards and The Household Cavalry. They are all active frontline troops and more than a few a combat veterans. I say this to help you avoid any unpleasantness if you try to 'gatecrash' the joint. The guns they hold don't have blanks in them and they are very good shots.
I fucking hate tourists that are trying to be funny and mess with them. They have no problems with using blunt force if they feel they have to. I was a palace guard in Oslo for my conscript service and it is very disrespectful to pester them.

Jared, I love your enthusiasm. The Royal Family do not live at Buckingham Palace. It is the Office. It holds the state rooms for official engagements. Naturally it also has private apartments for members of the Royal family when they need to be in residence for official engagements. It is a common misconception.
@Time4Truth I think a little research on your part would go a long way. The Queen is funded by the Crown Estate, which are the properties owned by the royal family, which they sign over to the Government, in exchange for an allowance of about 15%. Also they are figureheads, so they don't have political power, including immigration policy, so have nothing to do with the amount of migrants let into the country.

Can you do videos of Windsor Castle and Balmoral as well, in case you haven't so far? I like the British castles and estates. The little building on the right is the swimming pool. I heard that in a documentary; George VI had it built there for his little daughters.
When russian tzar visited bp for the first time,it made on him no impression...He said it is cottage in comparison to the winter palace of st. Pitersburg. It is indeed.
It was originally built as a townhouse by a duke and not intended as the monarchs official home...so bearing that in mind, it is a pretty impressive house.
Nikola Acimovic when it was first built it was small, its original name is goring house and about the same size as a typical country home back 100s of years ago, but over the centuries it's been added too! So it is very impressive to think of wha it was! And small in comparison to the queens home! ( Windsor) 😉
FYI - the Buckingham Palace swimming pool is located in the outdoor Greek-style rectangular structure seen at the rear-right of the Palace if viewed from the very front. It's open to all Buckingham Palace staff and it has been known for Prince Philip to turn up and go swimming with them. The location of the Queen's own bedroom is also unofficial public knowledge, but I won't share it here.

I knew for my own mental health & well-being I needed something a little larger & affordable long term. I ended up moving 300 miles away & live in a small but nearly perfect 399 sq ft apt behind landlord's garage. I have a beautiful patio/garden area & its clean, quiet & safe. Im thankful Every Day as there r so many doing w less.
It was only after 3 yrs of continual prayer that I was able to move. Don't give up...explore options, continue to b hopeful. God knows your needs better than anyone. May Goodness, Peace & preference fall upon those who r struggling with their housing.
Nicely done. Love the graphics and very informative.
That segway was smooth af
It really was.

James’ Palace by personal choice.
you deserve 1000 million subs
feel free to share with friends!
Very cool! I love the animations, and how informative your videos are. Extremely interesting choice of topics, and I can't wait to see what we explore next thanks to you. I'm excited. Even how you slipped the advertising in was butter smooth. Impressive.
Thanks Ronald
Not even five seconds in and I'm face planting my desk hearing 'Queen of England'.
Jared, I love your enthusiasm. The Royal Family do not live at Buckingham Palace. It is the Office. It holds the state rooms for official engagements. Naturally it also has private apartments for members of the Royal family when they need to be in residence for official engagements. It is a common misconception.
Perfect video for my 12 year-old students!
Thanks Jared love from India
Thanks Mazak - Hello from the United States!

God Save the Queen
Kalle Klæp someone seems a little salty....
God Damn Queen. I said down with the Queen and off with her head..
Queen Save the God
@@liamcollins9183 Mrs Windsors advises her PM so she must be giving some really shit advice considering the state of our country. Then again if I lived in a palace and castle surrounded by a big gate with every whim catered for I wouldn't give a toss about the people beyond.
The royal palace of Stockholm would be interesting
Thank you for adding an Arabic language so that I know Buckingham Palace❤️
Great video. You have a nice soothing voice.
My uncle was a Queens guard. He was 6’7” and there was a height requirement back then, I believe. I have a picture of him all dressed up lol.
Wow, lucky and legendary uncle
Very good video and well explained!
I haven't seen all of your videos so far so maybe I missed something. This is my first one which I discovered just today.
Can you do videos of Windsor Castle and Balmoral as well, in case you haven't so far?
I like the British castles and estates.
The little building on the right is the swimming pool. I heard that in a documentary; George VI had it built there for his little daughters.
RIP To theQueen of England
Tbh it's one of the most unimaginative Palaces out there.
the synchronising of palace guards with Dashlane, creative
Nice Animation! Keep it up!
Very informative
It would be nice to be in lockdown in a house you can walk around for 2 weeks and not go into the same room twice.
Thank you for sharing the information about the Buckingham Palace.
Jared, You make us enlighted with educative most exceptional videos
I suppose the secret mirror door in the white drawing room is no longer secret
It never was really. Even less now as it has warped
RIP Queen Elizabeth II
When russian tzar visited bp for the first time,it made on him no impression...He said it is cottage in comparison to the winter palace of st. Pitersburg. It is indeed.
It was originally built as a townhouse by a duke and not intended as the monarchs official home...so bearing that in mind, it is a pretty impressive house.
Not Versailles, Caserta, the Royal palace of Madrid, Tsarkoe selo, and many others ;)
Nikola Acimovic when it was first built it was small, its original name is goring house and about the same size as a typical country home back 100s of years ago, but over the centuries it's been added too! So it is very impressive to think of wha it was! And small in comparison to the queens home! ( Windsor) 😉
@@ryanspensley5201 But as many other Royal palace in Europe. but Russians ... (that's why we dislike them jk) ;)
Yes, and look what happened to the Russian Tzars....
Lets appreciate how well this guy presented 💯
This is really interesting! I’m British and didn’t know a lot of this.
I've seen most of your videos and I honestly think that your analysis and animation are fabulous .
How do you know?
I love it, but can you do: how does a nuclear Submarine work.
Thank you for the idea!
@@JaredOwen No problem.;)
I built a model in the seventies of a nuclear sub, the model side was removable to show the interior view.....the real thing would be even better.
@@rogersowers9837 that sounds cool, I have a 30cm model paper submarine in my room of the:" SS590 Oyasio" but you can't look in the side.
It works the same as a diesel submarine, only the diesel engine (at least 2 diesel engines) is replaced by a nuclear "engine" a nuclear reactor. Both in the diesel and the nuclear reactor powered subs they are used to charge the batteries for the electrical engine that actually powers the sub.
You are really helping me, friend! I need these information for my novel. Thanks!
I love how you insert your sponsor.
These little islands are apart of the United Kingdom

Can you do one of Windsor Castle please also Kensington Palace if any public information is available?!

Sou brasileiro e por disponibilizar a legenda em português me ajuda muito entender o que está a transmitir. Fico muito agradecido.
Great video. I've been inside the Palace and it didn't disappoint.
Thanks a lot for this video, it was very informative!
“This group of Islands is called the United Kingdom” - No!
Looking forward to Windsor Castle.

mrViss
Rumour plus a 'secret' room You must live in a very strange place.

Thx Jared, these are awesome!
Thank you for advertising at the end. Interesting upload.
Could you do a cover on the Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest?
