Kickass trailer dude. I love it. What was total investment with metal and hardware if you don’t mind? I watched them out of sequence but would love to make one too.
Designed it my self. The deck is 25 inches off the ground. Definitely could have done things to make it lower, but it’s not too bad as is. And thats why I put the axles further back than they needed to be so I could put a dovetail on it and still have enough deck in front of the axles to transfer enough weight to the truck.
What’s the width, I’m planning on building a custom myself to tow a Dually. What axle length u prefer and the spring seat. I thought about 95/80. What do you think
Pretty sure its 83 inches wide. Pretty sure the springs are on 83 inch centers and a 95inch hub face. 95/80 would be good but you could go 83 centers. Pretty sure.
You picked the right material for a heavier car mover. And I know more than 1 welding shops that use a lot of those 211s. More than enough machine for this task. Cept i hear more than 1 pro welder to stick weld this type of project. Good work, is what i say!!
5 sticks of 6 in channel, 6 sticks of 3 inch channel. 1 stick of 2 inch angle. 2 sticks of 1/8x8 flat for the fenders and the box. Stick of 1/2x2 flat for the ramp bar on the rear. 1 stick of 1/8x3 for the skirt on the back to hide the ramps. 1 stick of 1.5 angle for the ramp storage. 14 2x6x20 lumber.

6100 with sand blasting and powder coating. 4500 with out blasting and powder coat. But the 4500 was almost a year ago. Prices have gone up some.

Could you please explain why you chose wood decking instead of sheet metal?
Wood was cheaper. Steel would have been 3 times as much.
How thick are the c channels your using and what miller welder model are you using?
The 6 inch channel has a .200 web thickness. The 3 inch channel has a .170 web. The welder is a 211.

I have been impressed with it. Id like to get a machine with a higher duty cycle, but so far the 211 has done everything I have needed to weld.

81 5/8, to give it a 7 foot outside width.

How much did you spend on steel?
1450 ish for all the steel, but most of that was in 2 months ago prices. I havent looked into what it would cost now.

I was mostly tacking it together. When I burned it it I had my welding gear on.
