Great little quad and Super fast! I got 8 minutes of flight time on an RDQ 1s 650mah pack. Couple of things, one is to secure the receiver antenna. If it is damaged due to something like a prop strike replacing it is very difficult. Another is access to the camera screws, the motors prevent direct access. A hex tool with an angle solves the problem so don't forget to add one to your TH Freestyle kit! The last thing is batteries, this quad is so much fun to fly you will not want to stop so bring a ton of 1s packs!!! Thank you Captain.
@@MrSabram07 You're going to love this quad! I used a zip tie and heat shrink tub and routed the antenna under the frame. Also I put pads over the motoe screws for landing pads to prevent damage during a hard touchdown. Enjoy!
@@MrSabram07 I've stopped ordering from Banggood for that reason, 45 to 60 days is way too long. Been buying all my fpv things from Race Day Quads or Pyro Drones. It takes 2 to 6 days depending on what type of shipping you request. Grayson Hobby is another good one. I'm in the US.
When I started being pulled to the World of DroneCraft I was originally planning to go the camera drone route. Consequently, your channel became my prime go-to for reviews and information. However, before I made my first purchase (was waiting for the Mavic Mini at the time), I discovered the great FPV channels - Mr Steele, LeDrib, Josh Bardwell, et al. After HOURS of viewing TH-cam videos I finally landed on long(ish) range cinematic FPV as my end goal. I started with the Tinyhawk 2 RTF. After 4-5 hours with Velosidrone I was finally able to reasonably fly it outside, and having a bunch of fun with my adult sons, to boot! I’m ready to upgrade and advance. I am so happy to see you doing more on FPV. I appreciate the folks who are more immersive in the sport for their insights and information, but it often still goes over my head. Thank you for the way you break down information and make it accessible to dolts like me! Hopefully soon I’ll have my own TH-cam channel to share flight videos on!

Great review and video, Captain. My TH II Freestyle should arrive tomorrow. I have the Insta360 GO, tiny HD camera. I'm thinking I'll put a XT30 connector on, use the short 2s batteries and rig up a method of mounting the Insta360 GO to the quad. I've seen people use this camera on the TH II so I'm encouraged.
Captain has a whole series on beginning FPV, its very helpful. You should first look into Velocidrone or LiftOff simulators, and get a controller, to determine if you really enjoy this hobby :) ive been practicing for a few weeks now and enjoy it ! Its better to crash in a sim than into a physical tree!
I'm not very experienced i understand that you need 2 batteries. I just got it and its charging.(waiting on the controller package haha) thing is wouldn't have been easier to put an xt30 comnector and a 900mah battery or thoses are too big?

I am a fixed wing pilot and I’m trying to get into the FPV hobby and it seems as though every BNF drone under the sun takes Frysky. I fly spectrum and I really don’t want to get another radio. Do you by chance know any way of putting a Dsmx receiver on this quad?
Only assembly on most quads is to put the props on. DSMX is a bit strange because you need the correct receiver and the flight controller has to accept SBUS, so it probably would not work with this drone.
Just got this and th2. Already got the basics of flight down on th2, playing with slightly higher than stock beginner rates, then I'll take the freestyle 2 out. Can't wait.

A word of warning for n00bs like me. When u first start ur first flight MAKE SURE U HAVE A SPOTTER! And change ur camera angle forward. I flew my brand new one up could only see sky I thought when I pitched it would help but no lost it. Had to buy new one. Dear C.D. Are 5Amps ESCs at Tinyhawk II Freestyle enough? Right now at Banggood Tinyhawk II Freestyle have nice discount. But I'm worried, if 5 Amps are enough for 2S? A saw even 29A highest current in blackbox videos, this is 7.25A per ESC. Ughhh... I'm not beginner anymore. While I have so many 1S batteries available that I need something to fly with them. Just Moblite7 and Mobula7 are not enough, cos I have 6x 450mAH, 5x 550mAh and 9x 650mAh. So definitely I'm searching for something where I could use 2 batteries at the same time. I would go with Tinyhawk II Freestyle immediately, if 5 Amps are enough for 2S? Otherway I have to go with Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle, where I need to buy also ELRS module. Cos I'm not on ELRS yet. XM+ works for me great. Both mentioned whops have good about 200m range anyway. Or is there anything else, where I could use whole pile of 1S batteries? Maybe Crux3 1S? Thank you, good luck.

I know you talk about different googles but since I wear glasses I really wanted your opinion for a inexpensive one that will accommodate my glasses. Thank you in advance!
If you go digital, the DJI FPV Googles will cover most glasses that don't have large rims. For the ANALOG you have either expensive FATSHARK goggles with focus adjust per eye (individual screens) or box googles that are super large in size and can fit over glasses, or cheap box googles and you go to your local pharmacy and buy those MENU reading glasses that just sit on your nose (get the ones that closely match your prescription). Watch my video series FPV FOR BEGINNERS and look for the episode on GOGGLES and you'll see a pair that fit over glasses.

Are you sure that radio works with flight sims? If it does, then you’d connect it via USB. I no longer have this kit so I honestly can’t answer your questions about the radio (controller)

Hello, could you help me with something please. So, recently I have accidentally burned 2 different FC boards on my Tiny Hawk Freestyle 2! I solder all my motors, and then check all joints and they are very clean. I plug in my two 1s batteries to the pig tail, and the drone chimes up as normal and all is well. I then go to EMAX and get the proper THF2 CLI command for my new flight controller, and go into Beta Flight uploading it to the drone, again all is successful. I bind to the original EMAX E-6 radio, and it is bound. Now, when I give the drone about 1/4 throttle.......it throttles up very high, loses control and flips off the table. I try it a few more times and same conclusion, but now......the smoke is let out of my FC:( DO YOU KNOW IF I need to set the new FC to 2s lipo batteries before trying to fly it? It seems like that is what is going on, because if I was using two 1s(2s total) and the drone is set for 1s, wouldn't that possibly cause this issue? Any advice you have would be very helpful, thanks:):):)
Honestly, I can't tell without looking at the drone. Could be just a setting in BETAFLIGHT or it could be the wiring of the battery to the ESC which is not handling the amps correctly.
Hey to adjust the camera angle on the freestyle Tiny hawk do you have to loosen those two screws on the camera because I noticed the one I have the camera is real tight and doesn’t move at all and how come they don’t provide you with the wrench to take the screws out, there’s no tool in the kit to Disassemble the drone to take the screws out what’s up with that, and what size tool is it to take the screws out?
Sweet drone, I got mine last night. A couple tweaks and a water proofing and it's ready. Do you have to press the vtx button each time on boot to unlock the vtx or just once? Also I've seen it carry a "naked" GoPro :-)
If i have the tinyhawk 3 rtf with the detachable screen goggles. Can i bind this freestyle to that remote and goggle and use them for both without having to re bind every time i switch drone?
You don’t bind analog drones to analog goggles. Analog goggles are like a radio in your home and can pick up any station. A million people with analog goggles could all tune into your flight at the same time. The only thing you Bind is the transmitter in your remote to the receiver in your drone.
Hei, any idea how can i improve range on that drone? I use it with emax cheap oem google and jumper t-pro rc. Both of rc and googles loses connection at the 15-20 meters distances.

This is more powerful than the Cetus so it requires more skill. It does only have the same range as the Cetus for video (very short). Cetus X has slightly more range.

Does this have different flight modes? I mean a mode where it will auto correct the angle of the drone do I dont flip? Sorry I'm a beginner and I cant fly very well without it yet
So my bro got the TH3 RTF. I know I'll enjoy this hobby, and I'm cheap, so I'd rather buy better stuff now, and reuse them, I was thinking about getting a freestyle, some decent goggles and decent remote. The TH3 rtf is 300, what do you recommend for around $600 between goggles, remote and the freestyle (assuming freestyle is slightly better then TH3) thanks!
I am willing to pay more or less, I just want bang for buck that I won't need to upgrade in a year, I'd rather not have the 300$ th3 rtf if in a year it's just going to sit on a shelf.
Well.. I bought the kit with all the stuff... Took it outside and it went up and up and up and away.... Lost it, no idea where it went.. So someone will find it and say wow.. a drone.... Ordered another one... I will take it to a field this time.. that way I will be able to see where it goes... :-)

I have woods on the back of my property and it might have fallen there, but it is a very dense set of trees back there.... it if caught in a tree I will never find it... I told my wife and she just looked at me smiled and said, well maybe your not cut out to do drone flying. Go back to 3d Printing... Nice support....
DJI GO4 would work on your phone but it won't work with the Mavic Air 2. DJI has a list of what phones are supported for the DJI FLY APP: www.dji.com/ca/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly
Hello Captain! I am getting into FPV. I have an MJX Bugs 3 (the older edition) and i put an fpv cam and a vtx on it. I flew it pretty well. I also have an Eachine E013 and i flew it well inside my flat. I decided to buy a Radiomaster TX16s and an Emax Tinyhawk 2 freestyle. I just flew it and to be honest it is waaaay too fast and dynamic for me. It suprised me how powerful and fast this drone is. My question: is there any way to make it a bit "weaker" and less sensitive? I would like to use it with my Radiomaster TX16s.
I was looking at this one, still a noob and having fun with my TH2. I get about 100 meters in 200mW mode, and run each 1S for about 3 mins. Does the freestyle VTX have more range ?
So I got the emax transporter goggles and I connected it to this drone and I want to upgrade the anntena on the goggles to a foxeer lollipop 4 if which one do I need right hand or left hand and if I can I’ll up grade it, then do I need to switch out the antenna on the freestyle drone
Most consumer FPV drones all seem to be LHCP in these modern times. The Tinyhawk has an antenna that is none removeable so whatever it is, that is what everything else has to be.
Hey captain, do you have to unlock the VTX every battery to get the 200 mw? Mine won't stick when i set it to 200 in features vtx in the osd, after holding the vtx button in and powering up.

By far the best way if you have a pc and a video game controller is to download a flight sim and practice

My guess is you may have to bind it. EMAX should have instructions on how to do that.

Since I do not have that radio, I honestly can't say Yes or No. My guess is that if your radio can bind to a D8 receiver, then the answer is Yes.

The batteries should be on the EMAX site. They usually only come in the one capacity due to weight and having to fit and connect in the tight spot

I just starting fpv and got this RTF kit tinyhawk II, I am trying to hook up to RDS simulator . How do I connect the Emax RC T6 to the simulator. Also how do you check the battery charge on the RC T6 is full charge . Whi h indicator to look out for. Pls advice. Tku
Are you sure that radio works with flight sims? If it does, then you’d connect it via USB. I no longer have this kit so I honestly can’t answer your questions about the radio (controller)
So I notice you need 2 batteries> Can you use a 2S battery?

Goggles yes, transmitter probably. You’ll have to research on how to bind the drone & controller together.
Hello, could you help me with something please. So, recently I have accidentally burned 2 different FC boards on my Tiny Hawk Freestyle 2! I solder all my motors, and then check all joints and they are very clean. I plug in my two 1s batteries to the pig tail, and the drone chimes up as normal and all is well. I then go to EMAX and get the proper THF2 CLI command for my new flight controller, and go into Beta Flight uploading it to the drone, again all is successful. I bind to the original EMAX E-6 radio, and it is bound. Now, when I give the drone about 1/4 throttle.......it throttles up very high, loses control and flips off the table. I try it a few more times and same conclusion, but now......the smoke is let out of my FC:( DO YOU KNOW IF I need to set the new FC to 2s lipo batteries before trying to fly it? It seems like that is what is going on, because if I was using two 1s(2s total) and the drone is set for 1s, wouldn't that possibly cause this issue? Any advice you have would be very helpful, thanks:):):)
Honestly, I can't tell without looking at the drone. Could be just a setting in BETAFLIGHT or it could be the wiring of the battery to the ESC which is not handling the amps correctly.

Hey to adjust the camera angle on the freestyle Tiny hawk do you have to loosen those two screws on the camera because I noticed the one I have the camera is real tight and doesn’t move at all and how come they don’t provide you with the wrench to take the screws out, there’s no tool in the kit to Disassemble the drone to take the screws out what’s up with that, and what size tool is it to take the screws out?

Sweet drone, I got mine last night. A couple tweaks and a water proofing and it's ready. Do you have to press the vtx button each time on boot to unlock the vtx or just once? Also I've seen it carry a "naked" GoPro :-)
It is permanently unlocked (not in pit mode). You'd have to configure it to place it in pit mode.
If i have the tinyhawk 3 rtf with the detachable screen goggles. Can i bind this freestyle to that remote and goggle and use them for both without having to re bind every time i switch drone?
You don’t bind analog drones to analog goggles. Analog goggles are like a radio in your home and can pick up any station. A million people with analog goggles could all tune into your flight at the same time. The only thing you Bind is the transmitter in your remote to the receiver in your drone.

Hei, any idea how can i improve range on that drone? I use it with emax cheap oem google and jumper t-pro rc. Both of rc and googles loses connection at the 15-20 meters distances.
You lose connection because the antenna on the Tinyhawk is small and the output power is low. It is designed this way.

Crossfire, yes. External camera, probably an Insta360 GO

This is more powerful than the Cetus so it requires more skill. It does only have the same range as the Cetus for video (very short). Cetus X has slightly more range.

Does this have different flight modes? I mean a mode where it will auto correct the angle of the drone do I dont flip?

It has 3 flight modes. Angle mode won’t allow the drone to flip.

So my bro got the TH3 RTF. I know I'll enjoy this hobby, and I'm cheap, so I'd rather buy better stuff now, and reuse them, I was thinking about getting a freestyle, some decent goggles and decent remote. The TH3 rtf is 300, what do you recommend for around $600 between goggles, remote and the freestyle (assuming freestyle is slightly better then TH3) thanks!
I am willing to pay more or less, I just want bang for buck that I won't need to upgrade in a year, I'd rather not have the 300$ th3 rtf if in a year it's just going to sit on a shelf.

You'd have to ask EMAX how to do that.
A normal radio/remote can connect to as many drones as you want. You just make a separate "model" in your radios menu and bind the new drone to that
Well.. I bought the kit with all the stuff... Took it outside and it went up and up and up and away.... Lost it, no idea where it went.. So someone will find it and say wow.. a drone.... Ordered another one... I will take it to a field this time.. that way I will be able to see where it goes... :-)
Ha ha, were you not flying in an open field? As soon as you let go of the throttle (left joystick reduced to zero throttle), it falls back to earth.

I have woods on the back of my property and it might have fallen there, but it is a very dense set of trees back there.... it if caught in a tree I will never find it... I told my wife and she just looked at me smiled and said, well maybe your not cut out to do drone flying. Go back to 3d Printing... Nice support....

Most countries like it if you fly drones under 250 grams. Over 250 grams and you may be required to write a test.
I just got my maverick air 2, but the dji fly app is not supported on my android phone. Will any of other dji app like the dji go4 app work?

I am getting into FPV. I have an MJX Bugs 3 (the older edition) and i put an fpv cam and a vtx on it. I flew it pretty well. I also have an Eachine E013 and i flew it well inside my flat. I decided to buy a Radiomaster TX16s and an Emax Tinyhawk 2 freestyle. I just flew it and to be honest it is waaaay too fast and dynamic for me. It suprised me how powerful and fast this drone is. My question: is there any way to make it a bit "weaker" and less sensitive? I would like to use it with my Radiomaster TX16s.
Other than running it on one battery, there is not much you can do. Flying it outdoors in stability mode should help.

I was looking at this one, still a noob and having fun with my TH2. I get about 100 meters in 200mW mode, and run each 1S for about 3 mins. Does the freestyle VTX have more range ?

So I got the emax transporter goggles and I connected it to this drone and I want to upgrade the anntena on the goggles to a foxeer lollipop 4 if which one do I need right hand or left hand and if I can I’ll up grade it, then do I need to switch out the antenna on the freestyle drone
Most consumer FPV drones all seem to be LHCP in these modern times. The Tinyhawk has an antenna that is none removeable so whatever it is, that is what everything else has to be.

Hey captain, do you have to unlock the VTX every battery to get the 200 mw? Mine won't stick when i set it to 200 in features vtx in the osd, after holding the vtx button in and powering up.
Do it in BETAFLIGHT.

Can you do an "out of the box" initial set-up video? I just got my Tiny Hawk 2 and it doesn't work worth a crap.
My guess is you are just missing a step. What have you done so far?
Can tell/show, at complete good set build, if you dont have any equipment to start.
