Dimash's skill in music is unrivalled and as he sings in all genres and in 15 different languages, there is nothing i would not recommend. He will blow your mind every time.
Please bear in mind that although of course people will direct you to his show stopper songs, Dimash is not a one trick pony depending on displaying his full vocal range in every song, he has many beautiful songs where he doesn't go beyond a 2 or 3 octave range, especially his latest song Omir which is probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
What you witnessed is a competition in China which relied on Dimash pulling everything out of his toolbox. 6 years later he has nothing to prove and he is composing exactly what speaks to him currently.

You are about to fall into a rabbit hole because Dimash will blow your mind with each performance and just when you think that you are getting "used" to him, nope. He will surprise you again and again. So many songs to choose from and here is a very short list: "Stranger" (in English), "Ikanaide" (in Japanese), "Olimpico" (in Italian), "El Amor En Ti" (in Spanish), "Sinful Passion" (in Russian).

This was in 2017 when he was only 22. Now 29 and he has only improved. I am going to suggest El Amor En Ti. This was his first song in Spanish (sings in many languages and genres) and was performed at a concert in his home country of Almaty, Kazakhstan in front of I think 37 or 40k people. I can't recall exactly. You will see 4 Dimash's. The first three are just images, huge ones at that and then he comes out live. However, he is singing in 4 different voices and 2 genres if you will. You will see more of his range, Alto, Tenor, Soprano and then pop Dimash. I am providing the link but I will tell you that Dimash videos carry copyright and are many times blocked so you will need to filter many of them. That being said, they are so worth it as you will never find another artist like Dimash. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Loved your reaction! This SOS performance was in 2017 and when I fell in love with his magical voice. He now inspires people across the world with a voice ( if you can believe it ) that has gotten better with each passing year. The song Sinful Passion is where a lot of people go but if you want to hear something more recent to see how broad his range is now Stranger is a great choice. Enjoy the ride !

I will never understand what Krutoy's being a billionaire has to do with music or its quality. I think it's really weird and irrelevant to mention his financial situation, especially as we don't even really know anything about it first hand.

And there are many many much richer people in the music industry but everybody is talking only about Krutoy. Nobody is talking about how much other, not less wonderful, composers whose songs Dimash has performed, including his own, are earning. Only Krutoy. I am the last person to be blamed for pro socialist views, I escaped Russia a long time ago, thanks god, and have been living in the West. I am for everybody making as much money as they possibly can (as long as they make it honestly and legally) and not getting into anybody else's pockets. But in my opinion true art has very rarely anything to do with making much money (while a lot of shitty songs do), Krutoy just happens to be lucky that he is also a very shrewd businessman on top of being a talented composer. But many composers and musicians, who are not less talented than him in this field, are not as rich, so mentioning money is meaningless and certainly doesn't prove anything.

I am a devoted "Dear"
He calls his fans his Dears because we are dear to him.
He is 6'3" tall, very fit, was involved in the Chess Championship this year, composes, is Muslim, has the most tender heart yet highly disciplined in his music. Raised by his grandparents because his mum is opera singer and his dad sings and play many musical instruments and so does Dimash.
He sings in over 12 languages.
The guy is a walking singing Earth Angel.
His grandfather just passed away and we are all so sad for him.
He is steadfast in his devotion to love, family and his music.
He has teamed up with incredible Russian composer Igor Krutoy who is writing music to suit Dimash's voice. His band and backing vocals are off the charts great.

Every song he sings never disappoints.
Olympico, Ave Maria like you've never heard it before, Vocalise, Stranger, Sinful Passion, One Sky (whole video) absolutely beautiful Armenian song from Armenian Concert called I'll die for the wind in the mountains. He was born to sing sounds like that.

This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

For me, Dimash is not about range, as phenomenal as it is. Range is only one of the many vocal skills he uses, when appropriate. He has plenty of those, like (to mention only few) his transitions, his thousand different ways to do vibrato, his whispers, his belts, etc. Not to mention his beautiful rich tone in every register, his incredible vocal dynamics and the ability to sing in so many different genres and styles. But for me, Dimash first of all is about storytelling and expressing emotion. He touches hearts and souls because he lives his songs and not just performs them. His vocal tools are used in each song differently, according to what each song requires to tell its story and to express the emotions. Dimash is my soul healer.
Not his parents. It's competitors. They are sitting in the back room with a TV and watch Dimash singing. I would be scared to death if I was the next to sing after Dimash. He is the best singer in the world and this century right now. No male or female can match his voice and they know it. 👍😂

Yes. Dimash, now 29, has been rigorously trained in classical voice / opera since the age of 5, but also in every other form of contemporary music as well. He was offered a prestigious place with his National Opera Company, but turned it down because he wanted to explore creatively across all genres. He is in a league of his own; literally the best vocalist on the planet. Enjoy exploring more. 😄

Dimash is a young man from Kazakhstan who was singing in French to a Chinese audience, and he had them in tears.
This show is for established singers to compete against each other (Jessie J won it in 2018 from Hua Chenyu). The production of the show is wonderful. Worth seeing other performers.. Hua Chenyu (try "Nunchucks" or "Qi Tian"), Zhou Shen (try "Monsters" or "Dalabengba", or "Big Fish"), Jane Zhang (try "All of me").
Dimash is the best vocalist on the Planet (try "Sinful Passion"), and Hua Chenyu is the greatest Performer, I've ever seen in almost 70 years.... (sings, Rock, Rap, Reggae, Pop, SynthPop, Broadway, Ballads, Traditional Chinese etc etc etc. He's also a prolific Composer, Music Arranger, and multi instrumentalist).

Dimash performed the song "S.O.S." at the Chinese contest "I am a singer" in 2017, when he was only 23 years old. He was invited to the competition as a "dark horse", the organizers were sure that the youngest contestant would perform in one, maximum two rounds of the competition and "merge". But Dimash, who "by the law of meanness" got the first number in the first round during the draw (in fact, Dimash started competitive performances), performed professionally, singing the song "S.O.S.", and immediately won the hearts of listeners. This took place as the very first (opening) act for the entire 2017 season of The Singer, an Invitation-Only show in China. Dimash was the youngest contestant and the only foreigner in this competition. He came in as a Wild Card by special invitation, completely unknown in China while everybody else had been invited because they were already big names in Chinese entertainment. He was 23 at the time. Imagine having to be the very next act after him.
Literally overnight, he was famous from this particular performance. At the end of the night, he headed back home by plane, basically alone at the airport, unbothered. But by the time his plane landed, he needed bodyguards because of the swarms of brand-new fans.

His voice has matured considerably in the years since 2017. He hasn't lost anyrthing in the upper range, but he's developed a lot more capability in the lower register. I can see there are loads of recommendations already. Sinful Passion, Olimpico and Love Is Like A Dream would be a reasonable starter set, but almost anything he sings is an eargasm. His stage presence is incredible now in his live concerts; he really knows how to work a crowd.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas.
The song is very famous and popular in China. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once.
If you want to know a little more about Dimash, then I suggest you to watch the video where his father was in the audience. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. It was a big surprise for him as he saw his father. This video is just a minute longer. But worth it.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional.
BTW the audience is also the jury.
During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰.
I love this video because he still seemed so innocent. Just a boy and he didn't seem as serious as he sometimes is these days. He still looked carefree. I think what's happening today in the world worries him a lot.

We Dears are always thrilled when people experience Dimash for the first time and want to hear more! Make no mistake: HE IS AN EXPERIENCE! I haven't read through all of your comments but I can already promise a few things:
1. There are already a LOT of Dears popping up and giving you TONS of information and recommendations. We love Dimash not only as a musician and artist but as a person. He is quite possibly the most amazing person living on this planet when you take all of his talents, personality, mindset, goals and beliefs and roll them up into one person!
2. The more you experience Dimash the more your channel will explode! So be prepared for views and subscriptions of epic proportions when you do a Dimash reaction!
Here's my two cents on diving deeper into your journey with him. There is a "right way" in the sense that some of his pieces are best experienced after you've gained a solid introduction to him. With a 7+ octave range, as a multi-instrumentalist, and capable dancer who currently has songs in 14 or 15 languages, "S.O.S." barely even scratches the surface of his capabilities! I usually recommend checking out the following FIRST:

"Opera 2" (try to find the extended version with English subtitles)
"Sinful Passion" at New Wave
"Unforgettable Day" (I HIGHLY recommend the Gakku version)
"Ogni Pietra/Olimpico"
These in no way encompass his "best songs" or are intended to leave out any of his incredible songs in his native Kazakh language (many of my favorite songs, by the way) but I have found that these songs give a great introduction to him and his works so that you can fully appreciate the other pieces to their fullest!

It's from a competition in China called "I'm a singer 2017. Look up all Dimashes performances in the competition. He didn't win because he wasn't Chinese. He came second best. They changed the rules in 2018 when Dimash was a guest and a judge in the competition. Best regards from Norway 🇳🇴

This at a singing competition in China called I Am Singer. Dimash was the youngest person to have been invited. At this point Dimash was basically an unknown in China. This song is known as his "calling card" it made him an overnight success so much so that they had to send him security guards
