I like that you used a flashlight to look at the liners. Instead of just using the field strip to take it apart.

People so easily disregard the R&D cost (probably done by an American) that it takes to innovate like this. New ideas are expensive for a reason. 🤯

I like D-2 it's so easy to sharpen, and I think $99.00 is so worth it. Thank you for the review.

This seems like a nicer looking lever than what the home front had, would be cool to see upgraded versions of this. Also, don't worry I didn't change my name to Mattress Wizard.

There is one coming... in S35VN with a MSRP of $250. Also, the handle has some cool Hawaiian pattern. Oh, or did you mean an Homefront with the Field Strip 2.0?

@@etherealicer are you not referring to the introduction version in S35vn en Ti? That was a limited edition that is not available anymore. I have not heard that they will re-release that one.

this fieldstrip is just genius i got the old one on my CRKT HVAS and it was already very good but this one is amzing really good tech from CRKT

The stock photos of this knife really don't do it justice. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the faux bolster look, but that's a really clean looking knife. Might just be adding this to my list! The new iteration of the field strip mechanism looks pretty nice too.

I like this knife. I hope CRKT does a version with higher end materials like they did with the Homefront that was reviewed on this channel.

Don't question Ken Onions design ;-) The liner sticks out non obtrusive in my opinion, but well that are just my feelings about it :-) About choke up, I have more slim fingers and it;s perfect for me, so it depends also. I don't know if it is my Bona or repetetive issue, but I feel a bit of lockstick, but as it is steel liner this probably will disappear (I hope). All in all this feels very nice EDC for people who don't need to stick to max 3 inches rule in theri state or country. The black and green version has a full flat grind I think, but it comes in 1.4116 only, so it's a bit of downside, so I prefer the aggression of D2, even when it's not hair popping sharp.
Edit: somehow missed your lockstick comment :-D

Fair enough on arguments for the cost and new technology. But if it were selling for $70-75, I'd already own one rather than just having it on my wishlist. If you're going to have it at $100, why not go to $110/120 and put something even marginally better on it like VG-10. Seems to me it would generate that much more interest and less scoffing from the steel snobs. Kershaw Link is available USA made with 20CV steel for $76... All arguments made, materials, build quality, origin, patented technologies, for the price... that's way more impressive IMO.

Never had many liner locks stick . But All my compression lock para mils 2's and 3's stick . And I hate that popey snappy feeling when I go to unlock the compression lock and it kinda like snaps to the unlock position. Just kills it for me ... my maxamet para 2 is the worst-case so far .

I'd be fine with nitro-v or 12c28n for a little bit more money, I think the stainlessness of the steels would fit well with the field strip.
    edit: I meant 14c28n.
