  • I love P90s but I hate the hum. Fralin makes a "noiseless" P90 - a humbucker in disguise. I decided to get one and wanted to capture the before and after audio. The amp, pedals and mic are identical with both pickups. The real hum cancellation seems to be about 24-28dB which is awesome. But... does it still sound P90-ish? To me, yes!. All in all, I'm very impressed.
I do microphone mods and rebuilds too. Please check out my other videos about mics and music, or visit the mic custom shop at rockscience.net/mic-custom-shop/
Fralin is not sponsoring me. I paid full price for the pickup (about 175 USD in 2023).

Ok, that tears it, I'm picking up one of these for my Les Paul Jr just so I can play The Rover.

I put the Lindy Fralin hum canceling P90s into an SG Classic. Never looked back. All quiet, so much more useful and musical.

I have a Tom Anderson with P90s - came loaded with standard P90s, and Ive put in some TA Noiseless P90s - I cant decide which I prefer. the stock have a little more bite - but the noiseless do gain much more useably. I dont know if I should swap back - or get some different P90s lol.

There's no way to do a split switchable? I use Kent Armstrong Stealth P-90 and have a controlled split option, when clarity is important and gain is lower...

It does not look like they offer a split wire output option. But it couldn't hurt to contact them and ask.
