But all I could think of was "Isn't that bloated for what people need?" A whole life OS, or the whole second brain in a certain flow. I'm starting from scratch too! I know I want to have a second brain with the PARA method since I've been using that for a while now but I'm taking it slow and letting the databases and pages evolve naturally by adding / removing what I need / bothers me when I use it. Kudos on the rest of the explanation btw!

Well-structured planner. I have done something similar based on your template. I also added an iOS shortcut to my lock screen and on double tap allowing me to quickly add notes to activities db

magnificent work Marko👍, Really loved ur content. one question though, How did you manage to make the Quick Notes filed?, I tried with a Callout + To-do, it didn't work like yours, please any hints would be appreciated 😊
Yeah, the beauty of Notion is that you don't have to build a complex system from the start. It works just as well as a simple grocery list and as a full on database. I recommend starting slowly and allowing your setup to grow as your needs increase. 😃
Hi @marko , I really like the planner tab, do you maybe have a tutorial video where you learned how to make this? Or are u willing to share the template :)?
I enjoyed your video and found it really insightful. Could you create a video on brainstorming app ideas specifically for iOS? Also, I'm interested in your experience with iOS development and any recommendations for someone like me who knows the basics of Swift and SwiftUI but has been struggling to make significant progress in the last few years? this was great video!
I've been flirting with the idea of diving into Notion for my personal information curation and your video is the latest piece of research I've found. Just out of curiosity, what level of subscription do you have? While I certainly wouldn't be using/paying for the Enterprise Subscription (outside of work) I'm not sure if Business or just Plus would benefit me much in terms of real impact with my workflow. Thanks!
This is the nicest setup I've seen. Thank you very much for creating content and sharing with us. Would you mind turning it on a template? Cheers from Venezuela
I continue to switch from a tool to another, the problem is that instead of simplify and organize your life, you spend more time trying to organize your life and jot notes than getting the job done... I had some templates on Notion a year ago, but they were too convoluted... Don't know if trying it again (maybe with your templates) or stick with the basics (simple calendar app, tasks and notes).
It's a simple 2-step approach. Use a mobile app (anything, even Notes on iphone) to dump everything that comes your way on your to-do list. Then use a simple notebook (the cheapest, smallest 50 cent one with straight lines) to manage your day to day. You add your tasks for the day and a time estimate (I heard that your estimate x 3.14 is a good starting point), and off you go checking things off.
Hey guys, this is an awesome discussion! I used basic apps like that, or even a paper notebook before and it was very nice. However, when the projects start piling up, Notion gives me a way to focus on a few things at a time without feeling overwhelmed. For example in the notes app or using a notebook, it's kind of hard to prioritize, it's either on the todo list or it's not, and sometimes it's unclear how urgent a task is. I noticed some people use a calendar as a todo list, but since my days are a bit difficult to predict hour-by-hour I end up with a bunch of notifications at the wrong time. It's just my experience, there is no right solution for everyone, and I appreciate your feedback 👍
It looks simple and cool. I've already tried to use this service dozens of times, but it's too difficult for me to create (I don't know how) such templates. Because of this, I continue to use standard notes.
Hi, could you give us a template for your notion setup? It looks really clean and easy to move around so I and I think many other people would love to use it 😄
Hey Marko, I do really appreciate this video. It inspires me to learn Notion further. I am planning to watch some more vids about how to build a Notion page, and I will try to replicate your Notion pages as the initial step. Hope I can make it work and use Notion as my primary productivity tool!
Fair point! Are you more concerned about the case of Notion getting hacked or the case of them being able to see your data? In my view, Notion being an independent company that is not powered by ad revenue makes the second case extremely unlikely.

Why don't you just get a thunderbolt dock? Why mess with these cables? Especially when you need to add something more you would have had all the ports necessary next to you.
Hey yes, do you have a recommendation? The thing is these monitors act as hubs already. I have quite a few things plugged in into them. I like that aspect, so I’d love to find a dock that actually allows this to happen still, instead of connecting the monitors to hdmi for example.
@@withmarko Thunderbolt supports daisy-chaining so if your monitors use thunderbolt too then you should be able to have your laptop connected to the dock, the dock connected to a monitor with thunderbolt and that monitor passing through the connection to the other one, There are some docks that have 2 TB out ports but aren't common and usually don't play nice with Apple hardware. Normally Caldigit docks work the most reliably with Macs, The TS3 Plus is the one I was going for. It has one displayport out and one thunderbolt out, which is fine for even two monitors because you can plug a displayport monitor to thunderbolt without any adaptors. Most others I've checked usually had some strange issues with one monitor glitching out or mirroring the other one or working at a way lower framerate than it should.
