Insch is my favourite trout fishery , only problem is its an 8 hour drive for me to get there 😢 David is a real star as well, always makes you very welcome and he keeps the fish in great shape 👍
What a beautiful place and amazing looking fish i really enjoyed it very entertaining and inspiring to watch thanks for sharing big like from me bud tight line's and catch you on the next video 🤝👍
@@RhysFishes yeah I would love it the place that I go to is probably half the size of that and it's right beside a shooting range and you have pellets dropping out of the sky on your head all day soo annoying but other than that it's a great spot bud
Brilliant video again . Another cracker of a fishery. You guys got unlucky with the easterly winds. It was blowing a north easterly virtually the whole spring time in Scotland. Yous still nailed it thou 👏
Hi Rhys another fantastic video and very informative being a new fly fisherman I learn so much from them thankyou and look forward to seeing the next one
Fantastic video of a well run and maintained fishery. Did you hit into any of the doubles in there 😅 they are huge . Love watching and learning from your videos. Many thanks🎣🎣🏴🏴🏴🏴👍
Getting back into still water fly fishing and discovered you so glad, clearly know what your talking about and excellent and explaining things thank you very much I’m hooked on your channel!
Great advice for hot bright days which have come early this year…the key seems to be slowing everything down even more than I’ve learned to do and let those flies sink!
Class fishery 4 of us travelled up from Falkirk last year we had a fantastic day we ended up with 75 fish between us I had 22 dropped about a 12 & had so many takes just fishing a sparse damsel nymph pattern & drys in the evening can’t wait to go back soon Rhys 🐟🎣🏴🏴
@@RhysFishes we fished clywedog last September Rhys fantastic fishery that Russell is running from the lodge boat jetty impressed me how they have got it l. its another level buddy
Me and my son just completed the flyfish50 starter course there over the last few weeks. Absolutely brilliant venue and really friendly people. Excellent video.
Nice video rhys enjoyed it m8 as always 👌 that little fario diawl ur using is lethal its caught me more fish than anything else over the past few years its good on harelaw aswel lol
Very nice video! Next Saturday I have a small competition on a still water in Belgium. How would you start trying to brake the code? It's quite deep (about 6 to 8 meters) and it will be warm (30°C). It is always a difficult water to fish. I will try to target resident fish. Can you advice how you would start? Thanks and keep up the nice video's! Stijn
Hello. DI7 with a fab or booby fished slowly with a figure of eight if it's permitted. If not either fish dry fly if fish are showing on the surface, or switch to a washing line set up at the depth the fish are cruising at. Small imitative patterns are the key at this time of year generally speaking.
@@RhysFishes Thank you very much! I will give it a go. I will start with a booby and 2 faisant tails from your box :) Watching out for your next video's :)
@Rhys - what other flies do you recommend beyond Fabs & Boobies for the washing line? My local water doesn’t permit lures and it has a cracking head of decent sized brown trout…ideally I would like to catch them on this method. Can you suggest any alternative patterns that won’t spook the Wiley browns?
CDC’s or heavily dressed suspender buzzers. I used the latter at burnhouse on a washing line set up in the same week and an 18lb rainbow took the sussie buzzer in the surface film!
@@RhysFishes Cheers for getting back to me. I might have to snip the length down a bit then, its a Rio mainstream sinktip. Will give that a go till I can get my hands on a Rio midge tip 👍👍
@@slippinjimmy222 I wouldn't snip it down. It's been designed at that length. Better of selling it than cutting it, then use that money to pick up the conventional midge tip
@@RhysFishes Thanks Rhys. Good idea, will look at doing that as I’ve only used the line a handful of times. Seems to be worth paying that little bit more for a good quality line. I’ve only been on the fly for a year so still working a few bits out.
Definitely one of the best fly related explainers and teachers on TH-cam👍🏼
That’s very kind. Thank you
Insch is one of my favourite local waters, and it is incredibly well run by David

Looks a great water and yes most fisheries in scotland seem to have a quiet spell between 11-1
Worth a visit 👍

What’s the butt section of that washing line leader set up ? Loved the vid
It’s 6.6lb cbc fluoro straight through.

Can I ask how long do you have your droppers ?
8 inches roughly

Hey Rhys, another great video! I switched to a rio 12ft sinktip a little while ago. I find i miss a fair few, are your sinktips 6ft or 12ft?
Off the top of my head the Rio midge tip I use is 3/4ft. I do use the Airflo slow and fast tips too

You've drove by some belters of fisheries to go there. Where else can we see videos from?
Haylie, harelaw and burnhouse 😀
What type of rod carrier are you using?
You can get it from Knitsley mill fishery
Magma fab would like to see that
Really simple fly. You can find it here: fariofly.com/collections/blobs-and-fabs/products/pink-and-sunburst-fab
