Of all the other fantasy aspects of this series.... The fact that Ramona can bleach and dye her hair everyday without going bald is THE most unbelievable, fantasy esque thing about it.
I commented on this as well while watching it with my girlfriend. She informed me that this is actually 100% possible, if the hair dye isn't permanent hair dye, and the thing she puts in her hair at the beginning isn't actually bleach, but instead just temporary hair dye remover. However, for this to be the possible, the person - AKA Ramona - needs to be born blonde-haired. The Fandom page for Ramona Flowers supports this claim, although the creator himself, Bryan Lee O'Malley has said that he is "unsure of Ramona's natural hair color" and that "Ramona herself may not even remember it". However, on another Tumblr post, he also states that "I think it’s probably medium-to-dark brown." So the real answer? UNSURE, but it would make sense for her to be blonde
I think it's a nice detail that they only show her smile and play with her hair with the last one. Insinuates the idea that the reason she changes her hair so much is because she's trying to find something she likes that can be permanent, and that final color combo finally catches her
I also noticed that she changed her hair color every time she was confronting a new ex. I think in the flashbacks with said exes, it's even shown that she had those hair colors with each individual ex.
I knew a girl in highschool that would do something like this. Green, red, purple, you name it. Most of us genuinely didn't know her natural hair color.
I like to think this sequence represents how much time has passed in the show- while I've seen some complaints that the show has odd pacing, in the comics ramona mentions she changes her hair color around every three weeks- this explains how not only the show has so much happen over a much longer time span, but how she isnt actually able to dye her hair every day- plus, in episodes where the plot goes back to back, ramona doesn't dye her hair- since it's only been a couple of days. Just a headcannon I have.
Nah, at some point some character says something like "it's been 3 days" and Ramona is surprised that so little time has passed. I think it's an episode per day.
As someone who frequently dyes their hair (at least 6-10 times a year) She is more than likely using hair color remover which is not damaging on the hair. You can tell because there is no lightening powder in the mixing bowl it’s just a cream.
And her using temporary hair dye also fits her character perfectly. Ramona would probably have an allergic reaction to anything with permanent in its name
@@ejay5570 idk bro It all seems so realistic to me. I once dated a guy and had to fight off 7 evil exs and got sent to the future through a vegan portal created by a robot. But that’s just me.

We’ve seen in flashbacks that she’s naturally a redhead. The reason her hair looks blond whenever she washes the colour out is because you have to bleach your hair before you put the colour in for the most vibrant results.

(or maybe not. go read the comics, i guess.)
@@lightningjadejavierAs someone who also changes colors sorta often, I don't bleach it every time I wanna change it. Maybe the original commenter doesn't either.
I always her hair across the series was meant to match to color scheme of the ex she was confronting in the episode, showing how she runs away from what she loves and can't settle. And that the yellow and green at the end is meant to match what Scott's wearing at the end to show she's done running and now she's confronting him.
