Defying Gravity is a soprano/mezzo-soprano piece. I've heard Lea sung "Pie Jesu" by Sarah Brightman and Lea does have an operatic voice and range of a Lyric Soprano.

I’m pretty sure this is a half step lower than Idina’s original version. I know it’s sacrilegious to say: but I find Idina a little too screechy most of the time. I prefer Lea’s version any day.
I know Lea doesn't sing this in the original key (I think it's a half-step lower), but I really wish she could have played Elphaba. If the keys were lowered just a little bit, she would have sounded as fantastic as she does here. And I know she would have acted it incredibly well.
