- The last year or so we have developed a Mole problem in our lawn...they're everywhere! So we have tried multiple solutions from Grubex on our lawn to get rid of the grubs (a moles favorite food) to no avail.
So, here we show a spring loaded mole trap that had minor success, and a new solution...The Giant Destroyer which smokes them out!

Use a leaf blower to blow the smoke through the entire tunnel system
I don’t have a leaf blower, but I have a large shop vac! Good idea😊😊
Yep. I used the blower end of the car vac. Used road flares - cheaper and they last 15 minutes. Worked like a charm!
Good idea but, pushing the air through too fast could minimize it's effectiveness by venting it out too quickly
So these little smoke bombs actually work? I'm not having very good luck with the traps and want to try something else that has been confirmed to be successful.

What we used to do, is drive a stinky old truck out into the field, and hook a hose from the exhaust pipe and put it down the hole. We'd fire up the truck, and once we saw blue smoke coming out of the holes, we knew what ever was down there has gone to sleep. We'd fill in the holes and the horses were safe again. This technique lasted for months. They'd move back in eventually, but this gave us an excuse to drive out in the old diesel dodge, drink beer and have a day of it.

Put it in the tunnel fuse first and then put dirt over the hole and tamp down with your foot.

Leaf blower at the entry or shop vac on the exit end, you need to open other holes to provide a flow. As for the melting plastic bucket, we have a pencil pushing professional here. LOL

You should put the extra dirt directly onto the grass, to form a sort of _instant gasket_ for the brick! Much easier than trying to plug the leaks where smoke is already escaping.

Think the main way you tell it's working is when, after flattening all mounds and tracks, no new mounds or tracks are showing up.

I've used this method before and it works well. I find that you need to get a freshly dug mound, this is most likely where the mole still is. rake the other mounds flat or expose a hole and leave it open, if a mole is there it will close it up and that is the next hole to stuff with giant

I could do with one of these , i have a mole that is taking the p._ss ,I put a couple of traps down and it comes up either next to it or somewhere else , I've found the runs but alas ,I think the mole is having the last laugh , so I will try the gas , but not use a plastic bucket haha , ,you have kept me entertained
You know, before the bucket itself caught fire, I was gonna' say, "Hope they use a rock to cover the hole ", as recommended in the instructions. But the bucket fire was priceless. And, yes, he's right! You can't tell if it worked or not! "Hope" springs eternal, right?

We hired a pest control company that used a carbon monoxide generator machine that installed gas into the tunnels. We had 3 “treatments” a week apart.
However, after the 2nd treatment, we saw no evidence of new mounds.
This is a commercially made machine that costs about 2200 dollars. Each treatment costs 125.00. Worth every penny. The tech developed a “map” of the tunnels and knew where each were.

@@charlottelopez8619 They were a local pest control company where we lived. I think you probably can find one in your area, if you make a bunch of calls. They charged me 125/visit. I think that was a fair price.

"carbon monoxide generator machine" is usually in your garage, it is called a car.
@@jst8922 You may need a long hose to connect your car to pump gas into the burrows. I think an “adapter” can be purchased for this. But you need to make sure the line is completely clear and not obstructed. All in all, connecting your car may not be as easy and “safe” as you think it would be.

vcitor one of the easiest to catch the moles with, probbly cant catch any cause you need to boil it get your and the dead moles sent off especially if its in the hot summer when trapping.

What if there are electric wires or plumbing pipes in the tunnel?
Building code calls for a minimim burial depth, so it unlikely anything would be that shallow.
My cat brings me one a week.

Someone clearly didnt read the full instructions.....push down the hole as far as possible back fill with dirt and zero smoke comes back out.

You have moles because you have grubs that the moles eat because moles are carnivores. They're carnivores and dont eat vegetation. The grubs do eat grass roots which can damage the grass on their own.
If you don't take care of the grubs, you're inviting the moles.

I'm going to try something similar, but I'll use the exhaust from my mower, I figure about 20 minutes at half throttle should fill the tunnel's with enough carbon monoxide the give them a permanent nap🤞🤞👍

That's exactly the problem: You never know wheether or not you've been successful. I would argue that the Victor sissors traps are absolutely effective. If you only got one mole in thrity tries with the Victor traps, I'd say you're not setting them properly It took me a few tries until I got it right but I won't use anything else except scissors traps now. Instant karma, too. You KNOW you killed the damned things if the trap sprung.
OTOH, yes they're dangerous. Handle qwith EXTREME caustion. Getting your finger(s) caught between those scissors can be a bit bloody and painful.

What about fireworks smoke bombs? Would be much cheaper. U think that would work?
Install a plumbing fitting compatible with your vacuum near the top of your bucket. After lighting the smoker with the vacuum on discharge turn the bucket upside down over the hole and sit on it. Much more effective use of a smoker???

Just had a vole get into the box garden, and do two laps before leaving that M&*@ker is getting smoked.
i have tried about 50 of these bombs in two weeks. they did not work
I was going to try one ,because I have a mole and have put 2 traps in and the mole either comes up somewhere else or comes up at the side of the traps , I've tried windmills , i think I've made more mess than the mole 😳

Uhhhh probly not the best plan to use bagged soil unless you know for sure its not filled with fertilizer. If it is thats a good way to cause an unwanted fire or worse.
