Larry or LeBron? Larry would NEVER throw a tantrum and walk off the court leaving his teammates to finish a game. That’s why LeBron will never be my goat.
Lebron cries over a cramp Bird played without hesitation even with back injuries & other major injuries. Lebron hops from team to team trying to take all the credit while expecting the rest of the team to actually pick up lebron's slack & air balls. I think only three names can be on a list of Goat they are Bird, Jordan, & Magic Johnson. All three played injured & sick all three could do everything but openly also were team players unlike Lebron or kobe you take all the shots but don't really do much for defense. Bird Magic & Jordan didn't hop from team to team like most especially these days. There's no question Bird, Jordan, or Johnson are all better then cry baby james. Lebron doesn't call his shots & still make them...Lebron hurts any team he's on. He has to be surrounded by "super stars" yet claims any success as only his doing. He's driven the lakers into the ground.
Exactly…lechina could have never played in Birds era…not mentally strong enough!! They actually played defense and hard fouls were just part of the game…
Here is a fact that many people ignore. When Bird was playing there were rim protectors on almost every team. When Lebron was playing there were very few rim protectors in their prime. If you watch Lebron's highlights there are mostly uncontested dunks and dunks and layups on smaller players. Bird is a better shooter, better rebounder, and just as good if not better passer. LeBron shoots 37.5% more than 3 feet from the basket so it makes sense his scoring would be a few points down if their was hand checking and Mark Eaton, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, and Mutumbo guarding the paint.
Larry never abandoned his team, like certain player that changed teams for a ring, Bird never did it, Magic neither, nor Jordan nor Kobe, Lebron did, he betrayed his team, the four before started in one team and ended their carrears in the same team, that's why I will never put Lebron in the same category as Bird, Magic, Jordan and Kobe, he is bellow them
Larry the Legend. I watched him play and at the time I was a Lakers fan. Larry and Magic were always on tv to watch in games. Larry was the guy you hated to see with ball in his hands in last seconds of game. 9 out of 10 times he’s making the shot to beat you. He was fun to watch. Basketball was so much better back then.

That was hilarious. Larry would totally outclass, and out work Lebron. Lebron has incredible talent but Larry has the "It" factor. Superior basketball IQ. His perfectly timed steals, scores, rebounds and highly accurate career shooting percentage? Larry had the on court presence of a Master Commander whose men knew their battle would be won.
I forget who it was but he was talking about what Larry Bird did to him between talking and then backing it up and destroying him on the court.. One game and he was thinking about never playing again and actually k*lling himself.. He destroyed weak minded players.. He was really something else man
@@steveparis I don't have many hills that I will die on in sports but, Larry Bird being one of if not the greatest of all time is definitely one of those hills. All that. Also James teamed up with other hall of famers to win. Bird turned guys into hall of famers to win. Absolutely agree! Those memories of me and dad watching Larry play are priceless. Larry's the entire reason I watch basketball. Watched every game when he was at ISU too. He and magic made basketball what it was. I wish I could relive that time watching Larry with my dad.
Larry Bird NEVER. QUIT. EVER. He wouldn't even dream of flopping all over the floor after minor contact. His work/game ethic was full-on drive and determination. If Larry Bird is on the court, the opponents AND HIS OWN TEAMMATES had to keep their heads on a swivel AT ALL TIMES. Regarding Reggie Miller's comments, Reggie also got to see Larry the Coach. One Reggie Miller story about Larry as coach was that some of the other Pacers challenged their coach to a 3-point contest, and Reggie watched as a retired Bird crushed the youngsters. Afterwards, Miller said "What did they think was going to happen?".
I don’t watch the Marshmallow NBA anymore. I grew up in the 60’s in Los Angeles. Elgin Baylor was my favorite player growing up. Search his highlight reel…Elgin SAVED the Bankrupt Minneapolis Lakers, and they moved to LA. Magic and Bird save the NBA in the 80s. NBA playoff games and championship series were on taped delay… that’s how bad NBA viewership got. But when the Lakers and Celtics started playing in the championships, the NBA fan base grew accordingly. LeBron isn’t even in my top five, but Larry certainly is! Great job on your video here I subscribed keep up the good work!😊
Larry had a game IQ out of this world and knew where everyone was at any given time and used that to his advantage to make plays. He was also tough as nails.
"Larry can't run or jump cause that was God's way of making things fair." - Sir Charles Barkley. Pretty much says it all. He doesn't even have to shoot the ball and he can dominate a game. He struck fear in opposing players and coaches. He would tell you what he is going to do and there is nothing you can do to stop him. Goats don't look for a better team, they make their team better. Another thing that sets him apart from others is his leadership. He understood that it's a team game and you need your team to play together to win. All 5 starters were double digit scorers. Larry Bird made sure of that. He made the team want to play better. This is how he took a 29 game winner to 61 wins and to the ECF in his rookie year with no McHale, no Parish and no DJ.

No contest. Mr. Clutch Larry Bird. He played in an era with so many super stars and here is the results of the MVP voting. 1980 4th (Rookie Season) 1981 2nd, 1982 2nd, 1983 2nd, 1984 1st, 1985 1st, 1986 1st, 1987 2nd, 1988 2nd. Eight straight years finishing 1st or 2nd. That's basketball greatness.
Larry was also the originator of the 50/40/90 club, also his basketball I.Q. is off the charts, also his awareness of where everone was on the court, he knew his team and where they were always!
I'm not an NBA fan anymore. But back then, I watched the Pistons because in Windsor, Ontario, all of our broadcasts were from from Detroit. Jordan, Bird, Magic, and then everyone else.
Larry and Kobe are my favourite players and many times in my life i considered putting a poster of one of them somewhere just to motivate myself and to remind myself what greatness is.
Bird all day I was a big fan of basketball till probably 05 getting close to around 2010 it's not the same so I enjoy watching people react to Old School basketball back when players just wanted to play no matter how hurt they where no time management no flops and not threes being shot all night it was just so much fun to watch
Even though bird wouldn’t be able to use all of his skills in trash, talking, he would still decimate his opponents mentally and get in their heads. I don’t understand why people can’t give Larry his respect.
Yeah he wouldn't be able to outright trash talk like he did in his hay day, but when a person tells you the play, does it and then just gives you the stares, even in today's era, you can't call a foul on that. That in itself is demoralizing and would mess with people's heads. So, as long as he could still do that, he'd still have that advantage over most players today. And that's just one of MANY of the the tools he could use. @@vicegrips188
It's literally astonishing to me that anyone puts lechoke even in the same conversation as Larry Legend. That would only be, like, if a person had no earthly clue about "all-time", but still liked to run their mouth about it. Oh, right, duh.
Larry and Magic were the GOAT duo who saved th NBA, Michael is the most spectacular player to play the game, and Lebron is the new Journeyman GOAT for longevity after taking Kareems title but Legend is the overall GOAT, the best all around player for the time played. No one did it better just like Prime LB says.
You should do a video about the roughness of play back when Bird was playing. I don’t think many players today could handle it. Players would take a flagrant elbow to the face, drawing blood, take their fowl shots and just keep playing. Fist fights to a nod, and game goes on. Players regularly putting their bodies at risk, diving into the bleachers to save a ball. You would have to consider that as well in these comparisons. There was just more heart and skin in the game back then. Just my thinking. Peace.👍🙂
Larry 💯 easy !!!! Because he got LeBron beat and stats killer instinct I mean, even Jordan didn’t get over on bird, overall wrap your head around that one🧐👊
I am a lifelong Celtics fan with season tickets for 22 years and my first game I was age 7. Larry Bird recently called out the old players for saying the new players are too soft specifically mentioning how long LeBron has been in the game. LeBron has many times cited Larry as an inspiration for how he plays and also puts Larry in his all-time dream starting five. Those are their opinions about each other.
Playing longer in the game today just makes more sense, with modern medicine and treatments on top of the fact that back in Larry's day you knew when you had been fouled, no need to flop cause you was on the ground for real.
oh and this is what Larry said about Jordan “Michael Jordan is God disguised as a basketball player.” I mean, he might respect Lebron but who ya think Larry gonna take in the big game?
Bird caught it on the hop, jumped and spun 260 degrees and shot it with a frickin finger cast on his shooting hand! Still! every single last person watching, expected Bird to make it.. 👀👀
I’m a fan, watched my first championship inn1971 Nicks, bullets. have seen so much talent come through the game over the yrs. Fun debate I love dr. j, magic, bird, Charles B, Michael, bill Russell, Kobe shack, Kareem, Wilt… the list just keeps going.
Bird by far. His ability to read his opponents game & be 3 steps ahead amazing. One reason why he was so hard to play against is that you never knew what he was going to do. His lethal abilities on shooting anywhere on the court, his passing, rebounding, and how he could fake a move on a player to throw them off their game. Legendary ❤
Pat Riley, a pretty good coach: "if I needed one shot to win the game, I'd take Magic Johnson. If I needed one shot to save my life, I'd take Larry Bird."
Bird for sure he was a better rebounder, a better shooter there's no argument there he was the all-time best in the clutch he had way more hustle never flopped I think he was a better passer he never took a play off he actually averaged more blocks per game than LeBron he just had to killer mentality and there's probably some other things I just can't think of them at the moment Owen steals he was excellent at them he was just all around better player
The thing that set Larry apart was the way he made the rest of the team better. His teammates saw him feeding them the ball when it was the better play, blocking to get you free for a play. Getting rebounds and making incredible oulet passes. He got his points, but he made sure his teammates did too.
i'd pick Bird. he would be the better player on ANY given night. Lebron would be the best choice if you want a player to play a long time due to load management. Bird will play 1000% for you every single second
Larry took his talents to Boston, put his head down and gave it his all until he couldn't move anymore. Lebron flops, cries, looks for super teams and gives himself the title of GOAT. One of these people is a role model and one is a delusional primadona. Ill let you guess who's who.
already early in the video, I absolutely agree bird would be better than everyone still, he was the best on the court in the 80s, he'd be even better now, you cant touch him, he was the elite at 3s in a league that barely used them you dont think he'd be taking them like curry, birds competitive nature was all passion and wanted to win at all costs not to get a bigger paycheck. medicine is 1000s times better so his injuries would be minimal, I still dont think hed be anymore athletic than he was. but if he torched the league back then in todays rules he'd be a god and his trash talk would make these guys cry.
Larry Bird set numerous records during his time.... that still stand today! I still cant believe that shot did'nt go in!!! He shouldve had that! Wait...thats funny af! I typed my answer before Stephen A said anything...lol
Larry played hurt, was a ream player, played for one team and wasn't always putting teammates around him that made him look better. No doubt Larry was better

Bird came back on the court to help his team win AFTER he broke his cheek.
Larry would NEVER have his teammates carry his ass down court to shoot free throws because of cramps. LeBron's a pussy.

I'm not an NBA fan anymore. But back then, I watched the Pistons because in Windsor, Ontario, all of our broadcasts were from from Detroit. Jordan, Bird, Magic, and then everyone else.
Always Larry
Larry and Kobe are my favourite players and many times in my life i considered putting a poster of one of them somewhere just to motivate myself and to remind myself what greatness is.
Bird all day I was a big fan of basketball till probably 05 getting close to around 2010 it's not the same so I enjoy watching people react to Old School basketball back when players just wanted to play no matter how hurt they where no time management no flops and not threes being shot all night it was just so much fun to watch
I watched all the games back then, I will always listen to the great ball players that played against bird
Larry Bird is the greatest small forward of all time.
You might be right
Larry is the best ever Larry did everything no one else could say that
Larry averaged 10 rebounds for his career on a team that had Parrish and McHale. He and Magic made everyone they played with better!
I quit caring after Larry retired, but the NBA in those days was amazing! So many greats
He was the man
I've posted on many comments "Bird era done, I was done."
If these 2 guys had to play in each others eras, Birds game would get better, Lebrons game would suffer. That’s one reason I would take Bird.
I DEF AGREE
@@vicegrips188I know, most do, can't say and all know why.
Larry all day because they both have great talent but it comes down to heart and confidence in himself
It's literally astonishing to me that anyone puts lechoke even in the same conversation as Larry Legend. That would only be, like, if a person had no earthly clue about "all-time", but still liked to run their mouth about it. Oh, right, duh.
Larry legend was a couple steps and thoughts ahead of everybody
Playing longer in the game today just makes more sense, with modern medicine and treatments on top of the fact that back in Larry's day you knew when you had been fouled, no need to flop cause you was on the ground for real.
oh and this is what Larry said about Jordan
“Michael Jordan is God disguised as a basketball player.”
I mean, he might respect Lebron but who ya think Larry gonna take in the big game?
That's Larry being a COMPANY MAN and attempting to promote a very weak NBA. Remember, he's still has to act as an embassador to the league.
@@criticalinfrastructurepart1959 Right! He did get that best executive 2011-2012 . Went well with the player and coach thing.
Bird caught it on the hop, jumped and spun 260 degrees and shot it with a frickin finger cast on his shooting hand!
Still! every single last person watching, expected Bird to make it.. 👀👀
What about the time he played an entire game shooting only lefthanded?? That was crazy. Great way to really mess with opposing team's heads. Lol
Larry Legend has better highlights out of everyone. Just the videos on you-tube alone he's #1.
Team Larry all day long
Larry legend just think he doesn’t get the credit as other players of his time so it good to see Larry in the conversation
I grew up watching those Celtics got to see them for my birthday once live Larry is the goat
The thing that set Larry apart was the way he made the rest of the team better. His teammates saw him feeding them the ball when it was the better play, blocking to get you free for a play. Getting rebounds and making incredible oulet passes. He got his points, but he made sure his teammates did too.
Larry, he was the best trash talker, played equally awesome right or left handed. Highest statistics and a gold metal Olympic champion... Enough said
i'd pick Bird. he would be the better player on ANY given night. Lebron would be the best choice if you want a player to play a long time due to load management. Bird will play 1000% for you every single second
yes larry legend.
Larry took his talents to Boston, put his head down and gave it his all until he couldn't move anymore. Lebron flops, cries, looks for super teams and gives himself the title of GOAT. One of these people is a role model and one is a delusional primadona. Ill let you guess who's who.
Absolutely love nba in the 80’s
Larry the goat
already early in the video, I absolutely agree bird would be better than everyone still, he was the best on the court in the 80s, he'd be even better now, you cant touch him, he was the elite at 3s in a league that barely used them you dont think he'd be taking them like curry, birds competitive nature was all passion and wanted to win at all costs not to get a bigger paycheck. medicine is 1000s times better so his injuries would be minimal, I still dont think hed be anymore athletic than he was. but if he torched the league back then in todays rules he'd be a god and his trash talk would make these guys cry.
Yes way possible!!!! I was there!!! I saw magic, doc, doctor, Dominic and Mike!!!! Live!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
3:45 You know he's bad when an opposing team players gives him a fist bump after a clutch three with 1 second on the clock to win the game.
He called that shot. No other player has ever called his shots like he did.
Larry legend all day look at the stats. Better in every single category
Larry Bird set numerous records during his time.... that still stand today! I still cant believe that shot did'nt go in!!! He shouldve had that! Wait...thats funny af! I typed my answer before Stephen A said anything...lol
Larry - EVERY damn time!
Larry played hurt, was a ream player, played for one team and wasn't always putting teammates around him that made him look better. No doubt Larry was better
