Your advocacy and platform for these strong women has greatly helped. After 20 years after my first SA, and there were a few others, I now have the courage to process. Thank you for all you do for this community.
FYI, my parents' friends gave them a housewarming party in the late 60s and they had a gold fish eating challenge. The gold fish came in a lined toilet bowl. As elementary age kids, it became our mission to save the goldfish before we were sent to bed. So, the weirdness isn't exclusive to religious cults. Also, their friends were comprised of "upstanding citizens of the community" -our dentist, elementary school principle, etc. - of which every single male hit on my mom for an affair. My dad was having an affair (he sampled all the women in our community first) with our previous next-door neighbor's wife and was caught communing with her through the bathroom window at our housewarming. He soon left us for her and we could only live in that spacious home for a year before we were plunged into poverty. Non-religious communities can be sex cults, as well. Sad world we live in.
The thumbnail first Baptist Church of Hammond that's in my hometown I didn't know they were doing stuff there's two buildings one for Spanish one for English it's next door to the Hammond public library behind the library that whole section is basically a Baptist town almost I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to turn the whole town Baptist
That is litterally their goal! to buy up as much of the town as they can . I know this for a fact as my dad went to college there 1 yr after schaap became pastor and we moved for starting deputation in 09 but my parents are still affiliated with the church and college, etc. As they are missionaries through FBC's mission board (FBMI)... ughh ya all ill say is there are many reasons I'm no contact with my family
@RiverSong93 I can understand why. They also screwed my mother out of money when she sold the house too. So I know a bit of what they do not a lot but enough to know
@@RiverSong93 thank you. But yeah that's probably the first time I realized that they did shady crap there and then. I wasn't Christian yet though but now that I am, I'm a bit more alert and aware of some of the actions that denominations do. Three of the worst that exist is calvinism, Baptist, and Mormonism moron isn't christian but you get my point. But after everything that's happened I've been wanting to know and expose whoever is doing wrong because it has to stop
I wish I could begin to express how much all of you have supported my journey to healing and justice (without having any idea you were doing so).

Welp. Going to rewatch this now. Great interview! Thank you.
I come from Calvary Chapel church... so much overlap with what occurs in the IFB.
I still need to rewatch!
Break the silence. Break the cycle.
