Try Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and Arpels. I have found my perfect vanilla in that perfume. Soft powdery chocolate vanilla.

Thanks for the mention! I’m not a huge fan of the opening of Midnight Shimmer either but it’s a great everyday, affordable vanilla. Not too cloying and doesn’t turn ‘weird’ on my skin. I haven’t tried the ‘Uncle Surge’ one yet 😅 but I might venture into it. Vanille de Tahiti is my favorite vanilla at the moment! 💕💕💕

The original Love formula (with the red-colored perfume) is amazing! I tested it while shopping at Saks and immediately bought myself two bottles. Curious how the paler version compares to its predecessor.
If you love vanilla you should definitely try Absolute Aphrodisiac by Initio. It's one of the best vanillas I've ever smelled :) congrats on 10k!!
My favorite vanilla fragrance is Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and Arpels. 😍😍
Midnight Shimmer by MK :It is nice but very generic.I feel like I've smelt it before.
Un bois Vanille by Serge Lutens :It's very heavy for me and kind of masculine.
Love by Kilian :I haven't smelt this yet but I've been hearing a lot about this.Can't wait to try this out.

🌸 I blind bought Un Bois Vanille and I was disappointed. I smell very little vanilla and all I could smell was smokiness. I’ll try this again when it gets cooler. A lot of reviews said that it’s a fragrance that grows on you and becomes a love. I hope it does for me 💕

Vanille Insensée was my signature scent for many years, a nice vanilla and I pick up hints of lime. For me, it never lasted long, so I am taking a long break from it (maybe a permanent break up), and moving on in never ending search (as someone said below) for the next best vanilla. :)
I used to love that one too, right now I’m loving Vanille by Molinard. It’s a good gourmand vanilla, I use it a lot for layering.

Thanks! Yes I’m not sure how long I’ll have that one in my collection sadly. On the flip side I can still smell the Michael Kors on my arm and it’s been about 11 hours!! It’s a skin scent but still there and quite pleasant:)

I watch an influencer name Jackie Aina she mentioned Love in one of her videos months back so I got it! It was my first niche perfume. I get marshmallow scent more than vanilla. But I love it!

Hello, i am french and I really like your videos :) I had buy midnight shimmer by michael kors and i really like it but it doesn"t last at all after one hour I doesn't smell it anymore, too bad because it's a really beautiful sweet scent :)
really? oh no! that's so strange, we must have different skin chemistry, have you tried it on your clothing? I spray my skin, my clothing, and sort of down my top so it's in between my skin and clothes and I always smell it the whole day.
So happy to see you trying Kilian! Such an amazing house. I have 5 Kilian fragrances and definitely wanting to try more. I currently LOVE and own: Love Don't Be Shy too, Princess, Woman In Gold, Love The Way You Feel and Rolling In Love. I think you would really enjoy Princess and Woman In Gold. Love The Way You Feel is sweet like candy, but it dries super pretty! You may like RIL too.
I think my next Kilian will be Moonlight In Heaven. I want to try, but I may just blind buy a travel spray first to put in my Kilian atomizer case.
Serge Lutens definitely does a more dry vanilla. It's not that bright, sugary sweet vanilla. Never tried any MK fragrances, but the bottle is glitzy!

Have you tried Kayali (Huda Beauty) fragrances yet? I have them all and I would love to hear your thoughts on them. I think you and I have a kind of similar fragrance taste.
I love Kilian, what’s great about his fragrances is they are also made for layering. When I want something not as sweet I will layer love don’t be shy with vodka on the rocks. I love woman in gold and good girl gone bad extreme and I love to layer those two together. A rep at the Kilian counter said good girl gone bad with woman in gold are the most popular ones layered and I can see why. I also love straight to heaven extreme(it is unisex and is on the masculine side but I get so many compliments when I wear it) also if you like honey in your fragrances try back to black it’s one of my favorites. Also black phantom is mostly a mans fragrance but I will steal it from my husband occasionally(it’s gourmand) and that one also gets me a ton of compliments.

I agree with you, i also smell incense scent on serge lutens un bois vanille, i really shocked because i never thought that the scent will be like that, i had high expectation about this but finally disipointed at the end..didnt enjoyed at all, so lucky that i only purchased the decant.

That’s so funny! I went to Montreal last weekend at Holt Renfrew Ogilvy, and I got to smell Kilian perfumes for the first time (aside from the ball ones sold at Sephora). I tried Love Don’t Be Shy, and I thought it was ok, but I wasn’t blown away. Then, I tried Black Phantom, and I fell in love!!! There are notes of rum, dark chocolate, coffee, heliotrope, etc., but it is so sexy!!! I couldn’t stop smelling my arm! I found out there is a dupe of it by Alexandria Fragrances called Dark Knight, which is supposedly very similar to the original, so I bought a bottle of it for a fraction of the price of the Kilian 😉

If you can go to a Kilian counter, I think you would love good girl gone bad extreme and woman in gold(the reps at the counter will tell you to layer those and it creates anchor of this world scent), also try straight to heaven extreme and back to black those are my favorites. I also like to layer love don’t be shy with vodka on the rocks when I don’t want to wear something very sweet. Kilian is coming out with two new fragrances that look like whiskey glasses, the one I can’t wait to try is Angel’s share it’s and oriental vanilla but the other notes with it sound amazing. Also if you like vanilla scents one I recently discovered is Molinard Vanille, I use it a lot for layering and it’s very affordable.
I wish I could but I live nowhere near a Kilian counter! I have to rely on like once annually vacations to do this and of course with COVID it’s not happening right now. :) one day!
The Simple Chic Life of you join some of the fragrance forums(there’s a Kilian one and a lot of Kilian reps are on there) you may be able to find a Kilian discovery set. The only I saw recently in the group was the discover set that had 8 different fragrances. I would suggest getting that and most likely Kilian will come out with another one this Christmas,
How does the mk one compare to atelier cologne one?

I remember meeting a guy who wore Pi by Givenchy. Very beautiful men's vanilla fragrance! It was so memorable. I must try Killian!! Sounds beautiful.

omg, I thought I was the only one getting bubble gum vibes from Love by Kilian. As soon as I tried it, it smelled so familiar, and then I realized it smelled like those pink bubblegums I had in my pre-teens.
Yes it totally does. It was off putting to me at first but I’m loving it more and more each time I sniff it.:)

I really tried to like Love, but it's just too sweet for me. I found dupes that are less sweet and have better performance. Un Bois Vanille is not my favorite vanilla but I still love it and wear it when I'm in the right mood. I can find something I love in all vanilla fragrances though!

@@sneakerstrings For sure! Guimauve de Noel by Parle Moi is my favorite dupe. I got it from Lucky Scent. Also Perdizione by Nobile 1942. That one is less sweet and a tad more mature smelling. Both are worth checking out! Hope this helps!

I sprayed it on my arm yesterday at 2 pm, it’s 5 am the following day and I can still smell it (it’s a skin scent) but it’s lovely!
The Love Killan😍 I bottle itself will be enough reason to buy this perfume. 👌But, am trying to get on the minimalist bandwagon.
I’m thinking very soon I’m going to whittle down my collection; my goal will be to continually curate so that I only have ones I absolutely love in it.:)

The Kilian brand is so so good. I’ve invested in their travel sets whenever I can and now have a nice selection, including Love. I agree that the sillage and dry down are where this shines. Almost too much orange blossom in the opening. The SL is also nice, but like you said, not quite as nice :) ☮️💟

I owned and swapped away Un Bois Vanille. I know that it's popular but it didn't work for me. The beeswax in combination with a dry woody coconut note ruined it for me. It was too much like furniture polish. I do like both notes but not the UBV formulation. I'm not hugely into vanilla as a main note in my perfume unless it's medicinal, green, dry or woody. Ha, ha. Sounds weird, I know. Still, it's a good scent. Thanks for the review!

I recently bought samples from four different houses. Well, I just ordered the fourth today... can't seem to help it but you really should think about sampling first. I'm glad that the Killian worked out for you. That was a little risky. 😊

K. Love don't be shy is on my "sniff wish list!" I've heard it has Benevolence (from House of Sillage), vibes but is stronger. I have Benevolence and love it for a night time scent. I can see adding something stronger and a little more complex 😉. Thanks for the video!😊

I am a self-confessed vanilla addict. I have and love the MK Midnight Shimmer...definitely get cozy fall vibes from that one. Two amazing vanillas you should try are Indult Tihota (my signature scent during cool weather) and Kayali Vanilla. Tihota is a gorgeous simple, musky, and sweet vanilla. Kayali is also sweet but it is a lot “darker” and pulls really incense-y and smokey on my skin in the drydown. It’s one that definitely smells better on skin and once you give it a bit of time to settle down. My husband goes crazy for both of them. Interesting side note, Francis Kurkdjian is the nose behind Tihota.

I wish I could get 100mL of Chanel perfume for $135 - I'd be paying more like $160 + here (Canadian). I feel that's good value for Chanel fragrances but that's totally my opinion. Some people may think otherwise for sure.

I bought michael kors midnight shimmer at TkMaxx. I got the big 100 ml bottle for only €40! I really like it, it’s an airy vanilla. My favorite vanilla scent is La nuit tresor a la folie❤️
