Built this one and it has served me well for almost 20 years. Thanks Norm.

This is uploaded from another user however toward the end of the video from other UK based users, the audio was way too out of sync! So this New Yankee Workshop channel posted the actual cleaner video of this desk!

I think these official uploads are coming from the masters they used to produce the VHS and DVD copies you could mail order back in the day. (Or at least they cut the "And by..." toss to sponsors from the intro where you see the sign and Norm walks back inside.)

"We're in a paperless society....." as I look at the three bookcases in my living room. I guess I didn't get the memo. Paper or otherwise. 😉

Beautiful desk. I love the style. The only thing I would do differently is the finish. When using QS oak,I like to retain the natural color of the wood. In that case in may not qualify as Mission Style, but I’d be okay with that.

Anyone know the manufacturer and model number for the dovetail jig Norm uses?

Well it's definitely a Leigh, in the early seasons it was the D-1258R-24 but it might have been the D4-24 around the time of this project.

Very nice desk. I would mount the desktop clips from the inside.

I liked those little drawers on top of the antique desk. Maybe it doesn’t need the back piece right in the center, which would leave room for the power cord of a laptop computer, because who actually uses those on battery alone?

I was worried about that dark stain hiding that beautiful oak, but it turned out very nice.
    Another project well done.

It's okay! Don't let these dark wood stains scare you! We're brave finishers!

Now, I thought you didn't use biscuits on the top of surfaces/items because they swelled and/or shrunk and caused bubbles and divots in the surface.

I noticed that these biscuits we're dead center, closer to perhaps the bottom. The tabletop material is also thicker than 3/4".

Ya know how I know this is BS?? Because, there was no lack of clamps and no foul language combined with tools being slung across the shop. There wasn't even a point where he stopped and had to race to break a glue joint free before it fully dries because something got glued upside down. There just wasnt enough struggle in that glue up to be really real.
