    IDK how I came across your video...but I had to give a like once I realized you were at Crosscut!

    Great build! The words at the end resonate with me as I am in the middle (well, more near the finish line at this point) into a chest of drawers I’ve been building over the last 8 months. Most of my gaps are due to the traveling I do for my day job, but some was also because I was nervous into taking that next step. Great video, great build, and an awesome lesson!

    That is a fantastic piece of work, thanks for showing it and describing the process and time you spent building it. It will be in your family for generations, and they'll have the video record you created here as well. What a tremendous legacy.
    Maybe someday I'll be able to build something approaching that.

    I think you did an outstanding job! However, I’m confused. Is your show a woodworking show or a piano playing show?

      Fair question. It's neither/both. I'm not a content creator. I'm just a guy who has multiple hobbies. I'm not trying to make a living on TH-cam. It's just an easy way to share stuff with friends/family/whoever. Thanks for the comment!

    Awesome job man! Great video, as well. I’m building out my first dresser (following plans from Chris Salamone) I’m on about month 3 right now of the process. I totally am with you when you talked about learning new techniques and not wanting to screw up. There were times when I spent a few hours just trying to get a cut right by practicing it multiple times before trying it on the piece.

    Is it possible to get drawings on this build?

    • @bwmartens
      @bwmartens  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! This build is straight from the Wood Whisperer Guild. You get hours and hours of video along with extremely detailed plans. thewoodwhispererguild.com/product/chest-of-drawers/

    That's not cheap, at all. Looks beautiful though, I see no problems at all. Great styling, no hardware must have been fun, it's actually the way I'd want to achieve building for myself.

    Ben, great job! I built two Greene and Greene hall tables following a plan published in Woodsmith. One from mahogany and curly maple and one with sapele in place of the mahogany. Not only did I have to learn the characteristics of those woods but I also had to learn new techniques along the way. Plus, I had to buy and learn to use new tools as I went. Took me 7 years. They turned out great. Far from perfect but I'm quite satisfied with them. Sounds like you had a similar experience with this build. Thanks for sharing the journey with us and good luck on the next project!

      I was really impressed. This was way over my skill level but Marc walks through every step in great detail. When I'm ready for another "epic build" I'll buy it from him.
