- Into The Radius' update makes it the most immersive VR apocalypse survival game out there. It's called Into the Radius 2.0 and it changes the entire wasteland, everything it in, the guns, the armor, everything. Been looking forward to this update for a very long time. True VR immersion is when the game tricks you into trying something you’d do in real life, AND it works
Bone works got me with that. I was taking my controllers off and trying to set them on a desk in game and they went straight to the floor 😂
The only time I've been so immersed I forgot I was in VR was one time I finished playing echo arena and tried pushing off of a desk to fly across a room.
When trying to look at things in the distance in itr I almost always bring my hand up over my eyes and smack the headset with the controller
What about doing something in real life that you only do in vr? Because I tried to radio my friend IRL by clicking the radio on my shoulder like in pavlov vr.
@@rob98000 I found myself doing something similar when I first started playing VR. I’d instinctively try to use the right thumbstick to turn my real life body because it felt so natural after spending a few hours in Half-Life: Alyx.
You might be interested to know that this game, much more than Stalker, is closely related to its source material, A Roadside Picnic. In that book, the whole point is that "the Zone" (the Radius here) is basically just an alien trash pile, as incomprehensible and dangerous to humans as a broken-down car is to a bug or lizard.

In book several of Stalkers were trying to find the Golden Ball- alien artifact that "grants wishes". Only one person actually came back with their wish granted, most died and the ending hits hard. No spoilers, anyone who reads this comment- READ ROADSIDE PICNIC, it's really good

The film (while completely different from the games) is also incredible and more faithful to the source material.

I don't quite see it that way. It has the environments ad anomalies now, but the enemies are pretty lame.
@@RusZugunder Eh. The humans are only half of Stalker. This game just has ghosty people and the tentacle things from Prey. The Zone felt more like an ecosystem. Which actually would be cool if they did stuff like Far Cry where the creatures have a food chain.
@@JZStudiosonline To be fair as well, the guys working on this game are not a big team. They probably want to get something stable before adding extra factors, like new factions and a proper ecosystem. Core Gameplay first, extra factors second.
I only played this once, and after it gets dark ingame i promise you're gonna be thankful for everything that's not around. Just the sound of one of those ghost-zombie's footsteps is enough to make your skin crawl. If something like a snork comes at you I don't think there's enough therapists in the world to help you overcome that trauma...

I would absolutely adore this in co-op, exploring a hazard zone with my buddy, not knowing wtf is going on. We'd probably end up shooting any strange looking amalgamation just in case.

Hey Habie love your channel, I wanted to recommend a game called iron rebellion. It is literally just a mech fighting game with full immersive controls. A little lacking in content at the moment but once they release the update that was in early access it’s def gonna be worth a play thanks again!

Easily one of the best VR games and game communities I've found, being able to directly ask the community manager questions and suggest changes when they're around is so refreshing.

Just started playing this tonight. I loved loved loved S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and when I started wandering around in this game and seeing all the detailed interactions I was beyond giddy. This is incredible stuff. This is the sort of VR game that is on the same level as Alyx, Boneworks and Alien: Isolation.
I like that u don't spoil the storyline but still manage to show the beauty of it. Like i have watched ur videos about it and still don't know wtf is happening in the game

Game immersion in my opinion is when certain mechanics allow you to choose how you use them. What I mean is, loading a gun bullet by bullet. It’s stuff like this that makes you feel the freedom of immersion that you don’t have to play the game the way it’s intended.
Habie I just want to thank you. I have recently bought into the radius and i absolutely love it so far.
You are probably my favourite Vr youtuber (even tho you also make normal gaming content) because your videos are amazing little reviews and surface level looks into the games.
I have used your videos as small guides as to what games i would probably like and what i wouldnt like and so far all the games i bought because of your videos, i have enjoyed massively.

This comment was two weeks ago so it's probably too late, but you should play some more beginner games like Superhot or HLA before going into something like this, you have to know which buttons are which, know you're not going to puke from motion sickness, and just be acclimated to VR to fully enjoy ITR

I know I'm a few years too late, but they didn't add more maps. They just made the one map into multiple different maps, split by loading screens.

Here we are a year later, I have my new Quest 3 and bought this game recently. I'm slowly learning it and LOVE it! Right up my ally. I love survival games and those were mechanics that make you feel you are in a real world. E.g. Having a blast with Retribution (Saints & Sinners Chapter 2) and wondered what would come next? Well, it's Into the Radius.
Got this game after your first video and it is definitely the most immersive thing aside from BONEWORKS
Can't wait to check this out, but imo Saints and Sinners is more immersive than boneworks

I honestly love this game, I've played a huge amount of VR (2,044 hours now :0) and nothing has immersed me this much, I feel like I'm actually some poor soul stuck stalking the radius, the world building and the setting are so amazing. At the moment I'd say ITR is my main game, which is the first VR game to ever claim that title
It really does a good job of making you feel like your character just shrugs and goes "well I guess here's another day at the office" it's the only game ive played where I've started thinking about how weary my character must be in the world without a word being spoken by them, a small touch I noticed is when your at base there's a large caliber turret following your movement, to the left of the gate where you return from the area. It totally made me feel uneasy in the only slightly comforting place in the game

I do appreciate you taking another look at ITR, I'd love to have more people drop by the discord and say hi. We're a pretty friendly group and they're actually ramping up development still. You can even get special roles for completing challenges but they are in the process of getting new challenges for 2.0. There is also a questions channel where you can ask any questions about the game.

I imagine it would be hard to be immersed with a room temperature that doesn't match the game and with a toaster strapped to your face. But when a game pulls immersion off perfectly it is legitimately beautiful.

I'm REALLY happy with the way they split the world into multiple maps, it's really cool and also I think it helps with framerate a lot.

For anyone who wants to play a great game, play STALKER, and maybe the mode S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly (it's a separate mode and you don't need the original game) this mode is a tribute to the original game, it's made by the fans and includes new mechanics and settings plus all the maps from the three games are united, but don't set your expectations too high most of the missions are fetch quest (grind for rubles RU) the best thing about this game is the atmosphere and gameplay, the story is a bit mid but worth it. And remember STALKER, always double tap Monolith, twice in the chest and once in the head!

I feel like stalker got the zone wrong in terms of feeling, while into the radius got it right based on the book. Both are unique and clearly inspired by the same source material... but calling this a stalker in vr game would be like calling Arma a doom clone.

I think stalker did just fine getting the feel of zone down for me. I don't know about shadow of chernobyl since I don't have it but I enjoy playing clear sky quite a bit.

to the people talking about the game being terrified, OH YEAH. It truly is terrifying. To learn how to play is to just play. You can play the game sitting down, though your mobility will be worse. You won't have as much movement, but you can still play. This means no falling to your knees if you piss yourself. Now, to stop being scared, you just have to power through the game and learn how to face these guys. Eventually, if you play enough, you learn how to consistently beat enemies. It just takes time. I've seen people go from terrified people to being able to kill Sliders in close range.
TL;DR just play the game sitting down, and play it until you feel comfortable in it. Comfortable meaning still getting scared but not as bad.
Even on quest this game is beautiful like it doesn’t compare to PCVR but it’s still gorgeous on the quest 2

vr really is a trip, i was playing project cars and just looked into my rear view mirror...... without thinking about it. had to pause the game for a second and remember that real life exists
This game has resparked my love for vr and reminded me how you just can't get this type of gameplay on flatscreen. Putting every bullet into mags feels great even if it is tedious at times. It really makes you feel like you are part of the world.
