- GoPro Hero 12 vs DJI Action 4 - One of them is a total waste of money.
I did a side by side comparison of these two leading action cameras. One of them is a waste of money; you will absolutely LOVE the other!

Regarding 360 degrees horizon leveling, I think HorizonSteady of Action 4 is the equivalent of Horizon Balance on Hero 12, so both cameras can do it
Yes both cameras can do horizon levelling/ balancing but the Action 4 is limited to 45 degrees whereas the Hero 12 is 360 degrees.
@@cameraobscurafilmmaking7935 took me a while to double check, as I don't use this a lot, but you can set Action 4 to 2.7K, then Action 4 can do 360 horizon lock. Although I don't think 360 lock is necessary for an action camera because it cuts down the FOV and make it look like an iphone instead of an action cam.

I almost switched from GoPro due to reliability but I must say the GoPro 12 has me back in love with them. I've also be using GoPro Labs which is still GoPro to unlock a lot of features and have been loving the quality I've been getting and shooting things like night mountain biking which I never though would be possible. The problem these days is we just have so many good products it is harder and harder to pick a system.
I did switch from GoPro to DJI and so far, I am loving the Action 4.
Why does the title say one is a waste of money when that’s not the conclusion you come to?
Fair question. It’s all down to reliability. The GoPro is a great camera but its just not as reliable as the Action 4. I probably could have made more of a point of it.

Very well made video. This helped me a lot to learn of these two different cameras. I must say Go pro has better colors and the sky is not blown up. Sky is very important in footages. I have Go Pro Hero 8 now. I think it is quite nice to be fair, but my biggest curiosity is to find a camera that has very good colors and external audio including bluetooth audio. And you mentioned reliability which is really important factor when it comes to choosing a camera. If there is one thing you can do for us is that you go downtown and vlog your piece of daily life using innate audios and external mic. That will be a decision maker for all of us! Just my hope. Your place and area is amazing btw.
I think the Hero 12 has a great image too but for me, I just don’t trust the GoPro to be relatable. Thank you for the suggestion about the vlog for audio. I will see what I can do. Stay tuned!
