Have to agree. I stumbled across this place a few years ago while on a weekend on The Broads. At that time it was still very much work in progress but you could get the idea of what it was going to be like. It's basically a collection of massive train sets - dead straight track, 90º bends, formula 1 cornering speeds. My wife was expecting me to be in there for a couple of hours, but I was back on the boat within 40 minutes.
taffboyslim It doesn’t claim to be Pendon,but watching the the expressions of sheer delight on the children’s faces,as the the trains speed round,makes up for the lack of realism,after all,these are tomorrow’s modellers,hopefully they will see that model railways are not all about rivet counting,but can be fun,🚂
Please don’t put down the hard work and enthusiasm of other modellers,even if they don’t meet up to your high standards,there’s a place for everyone in this great hobby;try to remember that!
@@warrenlodge6953 fair enough. Apologies for sounding snobbish. I have started my own layout (under a new TH-cam name) and can appreciate the effort that goes into building a layout
The potential to be every modellers dream - a huge space/blank canvas and (I assume) a serious budget - so why in the name of all things holy didn't they look at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg and aim to use that as a guide. Fixed radius track and utterly unprototypical short trains leave you with the feeling of ordering a cream tea that had a rubbish scone, no jam and UHT 'squirty' cream. I own a house within 15 mins drive of Wroxham and I have a lifelong love of trains, but I can't bring myself to go through the door of this place as a protest vote on the part of the laziness of the team behind it to elevate it to the level that it should have achieved

Kim Jong Bing Bong Ting Tong I appreciate what you say,but the exhibition doesn’t claim to be Pendon!what stood out for me,was the excitement and thrill on the children’s faces at the things they saw,The model railway hobby is a broad church,and hopefully,some of these youngsters might may become modellers themselves in the not to distant future.hopefully l will be at the Sheringham exhibition,as l only live a few miles down the road,whatever the standard might be at the show,I do appreciate the hard work and effort that the exhibitors will have put into their model,even if it’s only Thomas the Tank!!
@@warrenlodge6953That's exactly what I'm getting at - the people at MW would have been well advised to talk to some of the local modelling groups, then you'd still have all the smiling kids faces AND nods of admiration from those that look a little deeper. I know all about the rivet-counters because I run G1 live steam (here in the midlands and in Norfolk next week) and some of those guys are impossible to please!
Took my Adult Daughter who sits in a standard wheelchair here in 2015 A BIG Disappointment the Barriers were to high she couldn't see a thing ! Waist of time and money.!!
I must go and see the Japanese layout being a fellow modeller of that countries railways! Looked fantastic!

it's not bad , but would be better if the trains had sound , have a look at david haworths train set up , his deltics all have sound .
